Spacious apartment with a garden in a quiet location

Large, spacious apartment with a private garden and terrace in a great location. Two bedrooms and a sleeper sofa offer plenty of space for 5–6 guests, and there are also two bathrooms available.

In addition to the large bedroom with a double bed and an en suite bathroom, there is another room with two single beds, a second small bathroom, a large, fully equipped kitchen, and a very large living-dining room with a wood-burning stove.
The highlight of the apartment is its private garden (fully fenced) with a large patio and grill, but even in bad weather, you can relax comfortably by the fire in the wood-burning stove.
The cozy, well-furnished apartment offers both vacationers and business travelers a high level of comfort and excellent amenities. The A40 and A43 highway on-ramps are about 5–7 minutes away, and the tram stop is a 5-minute walk. From there, it takes about 20 minutes to reach downtown Bochum or the main train station. The Gysenberg, a forest featuring a regional park and a swimming pool, is located in the immediate vicinity—ideal for jogging or taking a walk.
Both Bochum and the surrounding cities in the Ruhr region offer a wide range of cultural activities, and there’s no shortage of recreational options either.

Located in a green area in northern Bochum, many recreational activities are within walking distance, yet the area is very well connected by public transportation for exploring the Ruhr region.

Our main issue with the apartment was that the description is wrong and misleading: It only has 2 bedrooms and a pullout sofa in the living room. The pictures on the website are wrong and misleading. When I contacted the owner on arrival, her reply was that the pullout couch in the living room qualifies as bedroom 3 according to VRBO rules. Not so.On our first impression, the apartment was very clean, inviting and well equipped. Especially the kitchen has all utensils and gadgets you may need during your stay. Later we found out that bathroom wooden shutter outside gets stuck and becomes unmanageable; there is a constant smell of canalization/sewerage in small bathroom. Thank you for the fly screens, but they are torn/have holes. The washer had black mold/grime in the door area .The emphasis on "Separate dining area" is a bit of a con as it is is the only area where you can eat, no table in the kitchen. The apartment can be quite noisy with the movement of the renters living above it. We found the constant smell of glue in both 2 bedrooms off putting. It certainly doesn't deserve the label "Exceptional". I provided VRBO with photos.I don't expect a refund from owner but that she puts the money towards repairs.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed review. I am sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. However, I would like to clarify a few of the points you raised. The property description clearly states that the apartment has two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room. Only the Vrbo overview lists the sofa bed as a third bedroom, and unfortunately I have no control over how Vrbo displays this information. The detailed property description is accurate, and both the photos and the floor plan clearly show the available sleeping arrangements. I also cannot understand your comment regarding the dining area. The apartment has a spacious dining area with a large dining table. The photos and the floor plan clearly show that it is located in a separate dining area adjacent to the kitchen, not inside the kitchen itself. Regarding the unpleasant odors you mentioned, I was unable to detect any such smells either before or after your stay. I also carefully inspected the washing machine again and would like to emphasize that there is no black mold on it. The video you sent afterwards simply shows a few lint residues being removed from the rubber door seal. In addition, the washing machine is not part of the standard amenities provided with the holiday apartment. Nevertheless, I made it available for your use. At the beginning of your stay, after one week, and again two days before your departure, I asked whether everything was satisfactory. On each occasion, I was told that everything was fine. During your stay, you also never contacted me regarding any of the issues you have now described, such as the noise. Had you informed me at the time, I would certainly have tried to find a solution together with you. It is unfortunate that you rated the apartment so poorly overall, even though you yourself highlighted the cleanliness, the facilities, and especially the well-equipped kitchen as positive aspects. I am always committed to providing my guests with a pleasant stay and genuinely appreciate constructive feedback. I wish you all the best for your future travels.

Es war ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt, die Wohnung war perfekt ausgestattet, im Garten konnte man herrlich sitzen und ausspannen, es war großzügig. Alles da zum Kaffee kochen, zum Kochen, für den Notfall, abendliche Snacks lagen bereit, im Kühlschrank gekühlte Getränke, man fühlte sich herzlich willkommen. Sogar für unseren Hund waren Trink- und Fress-Schale bereit.

Wir hatte das große Vergnügen, einige Tage in dieser wunderschönen und sehr gepflegten Ferienwohnung zu verbringen. Die Unterkunft war nicht nur blitzsauber, sondern auch liebevoll eingerichtet – man merkt sofort, dass hier mit Herz und Sorgfalt gearbeitet wird.Die Lage ist ideal, ruhig und dennoch gut angebunden. Besonders gefallen haben mir die kleinen Details: eine besonders gut ausgestattete Küche und ein bequemes Bett, das für erholsame Nächte gesorgt hat.Ich möchte mich herzlich bedanken für die freundliche Kommunikation und die Gastfreundschaft. Gute Ausstattung

Wir haben diesmal nur wenig Zeit in der Wohnung verbracht. Aber die Küche war so gut ausgestattet, dass wir beim nächsten mal gerne mehr als nur ein Rührei zubereiten. Auch der Garten hat zum Verweilen eingeladen. Auf jeden Fall haben wir uns sehr über den üppigen Platz in den Schränken gefreut.

Geräumige gut eingerichtete Wohnung in Bochum

Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt, es gibt viele Details wie z.B. die elektrischen Rolläden, die den Aufenthalt angenehm machen. Zu dem gibt es wirklich viel Platz in der Wohnung. Die Kommunikation mit der Gastgeberin war sehr angenehm, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Insgesamt eine schöne Wohnung mit toller Küche. Wir waren nur für zwei Nächte da, fanden die Wohnung kalt vor. Bis wir diese auf ein normales Niveau gebracht hatten war der Urlaub leider vorbei.

Wie hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt ! Die Wohnung ist sehr schön groß und sehr gut ausgestattet . Die Matratzen im Hauptschflafzimmer waren mir persölich zu durchgelegen. Das angrenzende Badezimmer ist sehr schön gestaltet ,läd zum Baden ein ! Die Küche ist super ,alles vorhanden was wir so gebraucht haben und mehr..! Der Holzofen ist toll. Wenn die Sonne da war konnten wir auch die Terasse nutzen . Die Vermieter sind wirklich sehr hilfsbereit gewesen und Liegestühle wurden uns auch hingestellt. Im Schlafzimmer steht der Repeater auf dem Schrank,was mich persönlich gestört hat .. Ich kann die Wohnung aber wirklich empfehlen ,wenn man in der Gegend zu tun hat und eine schönen Platz braucht.

Weihnachten mit der Familie

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Küche ist fantastisch ausgestattet und die Wohnung groß genug, sodass wir mit der gesamten Familie feiern konnten. Frau Brune hatte die Wohnung sogar weihnachtlich dekoriert.
