We do not live onsite but are available via phone, text or booking app platform to help with questions or issue. The cabin is available for check-in 24 hours a day with a custom door code provided during the booking process.

Red Tail Retreat is nestled up top in The Walnut Mountain community. It is a quick 15 minutes into downtown Ellijay and 25 minutes to downtown Blue Ridge where you will find a number of things to do year round! Plentiful walking/biking trails, waterfalls, tubing, and white water rafting, quaint shops and downtown eateries, multiple vineyards, and local arts & crafts. Festivals are held year-round and are fun for all ages. The Walnut Mountain community itself offers tennis/pickleball courts, lakes, hiking trails, creek access with picnic tables and community pool open from Labor Day - Memorial Day.

Traveling to the cabin is an easy drive and you will be given a gate code before check-in for access to the community and amenities. Once you are in the community, there are paved roads leading to the cabin up the mountain. A large handicap accessible gravel driveway will accommodate up to three vehicles. For those with limited mobility, there is a ramp for the front stairs and only one short step (4") into the main level of the cabin which is then step-free. You will be sent a digital door code for 24-hour check-in. You will have access to the entire cabin and community amenities for the duration of your stay.

Light holiday décor will be up for December stays as well.

Everything you need is within a 15-30 minute drive. Multiple shopping districts and excellent food options, and a new state-of-the-art Movie Theater, or if you want to stretch your legs a bit the Chattanooga area with all of its attractions are about 1.5 hours away, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park & Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area only 2.5 hours away. Cades Cove about 1.5 hours drive, the casinos in Cherokee, NC 1.5 hours. Closer to home take the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, ranked the 4th-best railway to enjoy the fall colors according to Country Living Magazine.

- No parties or smoking of any kind allowed (cigarettes, cigar, weed, vape, candles, etc.)
- Minimum Rental age 25 and no kids younger than 12 years old allowed without prior approval.
- The roads are paved to the cabin, but can have steep incline in some areas. There are some large bumps along the road and getting into the driveway so low riding vehicles are not recommended and driveway is not suitable for RV's or large trailers
- There is a pet fee for up to two dogs per stay with a 2 dog maximum.
- No refunds for inclement weather, power or wifi outages, pests or animals. During severe weather threats or dangerous road conditions we may request you cancel your reservation to ensure your safety if the cabin or area is under extreme weather or road warning.
- The indoor fireplace is available for use from Oct - Mid-March and community pool is open Labor Day - Memorial Day
- VRBO/DIRECT GUESTS: You will be required to complete a basic guest verification process and select either a $35 damage waiver (non-refundable) or $500 refundable security deposit with a $15 processing fee before your reservation is complete. Any cancellations or refunds will be charged a 4% processing fee as we are charged 4% by the credit card processor to collect payment.
