Reit im Winkl: A Climatic Health Resort According to Wikipedia, the designation “climatic health resort” is awarded to “locations whose air and climate, according to an expert assessment, possess properties that are beneficial for relaxation and health.” Reit im Winkl was designated a health resort in 1956 and has consistently met the criteria for this designation ever since through its own efforts. One factor is its elevation, which ensures that summer heat remains moderate and nights stay pleasantly cool. The town is surrounded by extensive mountain forests of the Chiemgau Alps and, in terms of its general climate, belongs to the “Bavarian Alps” climate region. The character of the weather is decisively determined by the local conditions—that is, by the influence of the mountain ranges and valleys on weather patterns. In addition to the natural conditions that ensure good air quality, we actively work to preserve the fresh mountain air by utilizing natural heat and providing ample bus service.
Kevin Davis came to Bavaria from the United States to give his name first to his wife Ina, then to his children Sophia, Basti, and Emilia, and now to our house in beautiful Reit im Winkl. With the support of Ina’s parents, Markus and Silvia, this house draws its character from three generations of Germans and Americans. They love to ski and hike and enjoy a cold beer by a warm fire, but above all, they love spending time with people. The Davis family can’t wait to share their little piece of heaven with you!
