Acerca de este alojamiento
Charming 2-bedroom retreat nestled in the pines on a pond. 15 minutes from UNC
Nestled amongst the loblolly pines, our renovated 1975 cabin is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cozy, clean house in the woods, overlooking a 4 acre pond, with residential ducks. Escape from day-to-day life, with a feeling of being a million miles away, yet conveniently close to Chapel Hill & Pittsboro, 15 min S. of UNC & minutes from groceries & restaurants. Lux mattress & linens, dinghy, wifi, fire circle, fairy forest, spacious deck with pond view & a fire table, BBQ with lovely cafe lights awaits!
The space
The Loblolly House has 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath, with a lovely family room and full kitchen. There’s a spacious deck with seating, outdoor dining, BBQ grill and a fire table. The pond has a beautiful new dock, with a 1978 refurbished dinghy to paddle & fish around the 4 acre pond! A fire pit and small a-frame are also on the property for guests to enjoy. Say hi to the residential ducks!
Our favorite part of the Loblolly House is the deck overlooking the pond with cafe lights to snuggle up around the fire table and listen to the chorus of the woods at night. Avid fishers will love fishing from the dock or the boat! A s’more kit comes with your stay, ready for memories to be made. Stays longer than 1 night come with a loaf of homemade sourdough, made by my husband, and farm fresh eggs from Oak Meadow Farm for breakfast! If you start your day with coffee, we have a Keurig duo coffee maker, with a starter pack of pods and grounds for your first day or so, depending on your coffee intake. Handmade pottery by Hyacinth Ceramics adds to the earth connection of the retreat feeling in the forest. We’ve curated our house in the woods to be an experience to feed the soul and escape day to day life.
Guests will be sleeping on a Dream Cloud Mattress, with 800-1000 thread count sheets. Blackout curtains are in the king suite to give guests an amazing night sleep. Thick, fluffy luxurious towels are stocked in the bathroom. A full washer & dryer for guests needs are also available.
There’s a smart TV in the family room, high-speed internet, games & puzzles in the kitchen with toys & books for children in the loft room. A beautiful, large writing desk overlooking the pond is in the upstairs room, for a serene place to work remote. I like to think of someone writing a book or poetry in the quiet nook.
My daughters and I are slowly adding to a fairy forest on the hill behind the house! We’re hoping it’s a magical place for kids to experience the woods!
We’re 15-20 minutes South of UNC Campus
and Carrboro, 15 min north of charming Pittsboro- perfect for games, boutique shopping, UNC visits, hospital appointments and concerts. We’d love to host you and your family, and hope you can make beautiful memories here at the Loblolly House!
Guest access
The entire home, expansive dock, surrounding property with shared pond, dock, fire pit and a small a-frame are for guest access. The small a-frame is not currently in use but has plans for a future camping site. There is uninhabited 10 acres behind the Loblolly House. We are in the woods with bugs and sticks, this is nature! There’s a doe that tends to sleep outside the bathroom window, lovely to wake up to when she’s there. The ducks usually come up to the house to say hi! Enjoy the quiet serenity of the beautiful North Carolina woods!
In fall & winter the water levels are lower than summer. There is a more notable drop down to the water from the dock. We apologize in advance and wish we could control the water level! The boat usage is at your comfort level of getting in and out of the water. Please enjoy the two paddle boards as well, that we have on property, if you’d like to have a paddle out on the pond! Thanks!
Other things to note
We love our little house in the woods! We're 15 minutes to UNC and Pittsboro, yet it feels a million miles away. Everything has been carefully curated for a wonderful experience for our guests. Handmade pottery, made by me, sourdough made by my husband, farm fresh eggs from my dear friends farm, fresh flowers to appease the senses and nourish the soul. This isn't a hotel, this is our home, and we want you to experience a retreat. The woods are magical here! We can’t wait for you to experience the Loblolly House. Thank
