The Space:

Just west of the Gulf Place public beach entertainment area in Gulf Shores, Driftwood Towers is a serene and relaxing yet fun and welcoming condominium complex.



A sparkling outdoor swimming pool faces the Gulf of Mexico with its sea oat-covered dunes and expansive beachfront area that provides ample space for vacationing families to build sandcastles, splash in the Gulf, stroll underneath the starry sky and simply enjoy spending time together.



You'll find everything you need to prepare and enjoy meals in your condo's fully equipped kitchen and dining area, but if you enjoy cooking and dining outdoors, a grilling area is located on site.



Each individual condo features its own private balcony giving you the option to extend your living space outdoors, watch the sun rise and set each day, and relax to the sounds of the surf, seagulls and happy families playing below.



Driftwood Towers is centrally located in Gulf Shores, meaning you are within close proximity to popular attractions like the newly revitalized, beautiful main public beach area, Waterville USA, hiking and biking trails, Gulf State Park, dining options ranging from fast food to upscale coastal cuisine and everything in between, and tiny mom-and-pop boutiques as well as large stores filled with everything you'll ever need for your vacation.

Nice stay. The property is older and a bit outdated but was good overall. The bed in the master is not the most comfortable and there isn’t a blanket to be found in the entire place. Overall it was good for what we needed and I would consider staying there again.

Overall we would stay here again. Nice beach front condo! However, could use some updating in bathroom and bedrooms. Better mattress and tubs needed.

Our family stay

We really enjoyed this condo! We loved the bed and huge sectional that was so comfy and everyone fit perfectly. The view was absolutely beautiful! My only complaint is we had to buy trash bags. We were only given one for the whole entire stay and having 6 people for 4 days was simply not enough.but other than that, we enjoyed it.

Great time!

We had a wonderful time. Weather was perfect! We loved the condo. It was so comfortable and decorated so pretty. It was close to the beach and also close to restaurants, etc. The only problem we had was Direct TV reception - it kept coming and going. We will check to see if this same condo is available on our next trip to Gulf Shores.

Fabulous View

We were here for three days with our granddaughters. The location was excellent. View was beautiful. The condo was clean but very worn and tired. Small notation …not one pair of scissors in the unit! Also the bed linens were basically a sheet and a thin satin cover. We used beach towels for blankets. The pool area was clean but needs a complete makeover.

Nice place!

Everything was great as far as the listing goes. They do not have bathrooms to access from the pool and that was a bit of an issue. No ice maker to buy ice or get ice on the property, just if your fridge made it. Very nice condo. Needed more bath towels, wash clothes. Very clean and everything worked as it should.

Pretty Good

The location was perfection! Seriously such a good location. Right on the beach with a perfect view from the balcony. The place was very clean at first view, but we moved a chair in the living room and there was broken glass under it, which I stepped on barefooted. Other than that, everything was clean. The door was HEAVY. The kitchen has everything we needed as far as crockpots, coffee maker, toaster, ice maker, waffle maker, pots, pans, can openers, etc… Make sure you bring trash bags. There was also only one hand towel in the kitchen. When we checked in there was water in the bottom of the dishwasher, and we couldn’t turn it on to wash dishes. We ended up washing everything by hand and let Vacasa know it wasn’t working. They said they’d get it fixed. Overall, I would stay there again. The little issues were small enough that they didn’t really bother us.

Overall not a great experience

No instructions provided about parking. Eventually we found parking passes in the kitchen. Annoying, but no big deal. The condo itself was nice. Very clean, the view of the beach and balcony were great. It’s not far to the beach and the building was quiet. However, there were NO blankets in the condo. Not one. We reached out to Vacasa multiple times, they replied with an email in somewhat of a timely manner. We relayed that we opened every door that was not locked, and opened every cupboard looking for blankets. The only extra linens provided were two flat sheets for the pull out sofa bed. Over the course of our stay, Vacasa did email us back with the same automated response, we apologize for the delay, we are experiencing high volumes of emails at this time. At no point did someone bring us blankets or arrange for it. Vacasa “reached out to the local team.” We should have adequate linens. We turned the air up but then it was stuffy. Thankfully, we had our beach towels to keep us warm at night. The most maddening part? The last email I received was AFTER we had checked out, and Vacasa stated they saw we were “assisted”. Clearly at no point had anyone read the previous and multiple correspondence between myself and Vacasa. In essence, Vacasa told us they were glad the situation was resolved. I informed them it was in fact, not resolved and we had already checked out. Their reply was that they were going to look into it. AGAIN, no one had read anything and I told them yet again we had checked out and waited in vain three days for blankets. One kitchen garbage bag was provided and several tiny bathroom trash bags. There is an iron but no ironing board. We had to put towels on the countertop in an attempt to iron our clothes. The instructions for garbage said that there were garbage chutes on each floor, this isn’t true, you have to go the parking lot where the dumpsters are located. The outdoor showers do not work. The water hoses does not work, not a big deal if you don’t care about sand being on everything when you return to your room. We were told “please be patient”. At no point were we rude or demanding. We simply asked for blankets, repeatedly. Overall, the condo itself was nice but it was a barrage of little things that made it so unpleasant, and we wouldn’t stay there again. Sadly, Vacasa seems to have this reputation the more I read online about them. Evidently, poor communication and subpar problem resolution is acceptable.
