Our Ahrquelle apartment is located on the first floor of the historic Posthalterhof and is ideal for 2 people. The 35-square-meter apartment is stylishly furnished with antique furniture and features a cozy bedroom with a kitchenette, a dining table, and an adjoining bathroom with a shower. The large terrace and garden are just a few steps away. Here, in a sheltered area, a garden table for two with a parasol is available for breakfast. The grill is also available for use, so you can spend your evenings outdoors.
For Christmas 2021, we opened our new sauna area for all guests of the Posthalterhof. In our large garden, there is a vaulted cellar—approximately 500 years old—built into the rock. Here, our guests can relax in the sauna and whirlpool in an extraordinary atmosphere and, in the secluded outdoor area of the covered lounge corner with a warm fire, listen to music and enjoy the view of the castle.
Dogs are welcome here and can run around freely in the huge garden. 

Free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV with Netflix and Prime are available.

The Posthalterhof, built in 1683 by the House of Thurn und Taxis, has been renovated with great attention to detail and offers an extraordinary atmosphere within its historic walls. Antique furniture and modern amenities in the bedrooms, the newly renovated bathrooms, and the fully equipped, open-concept kitchens are stylishly combined. Additionally, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with Netflix and Prime, and Alexa devices are available in the dining and living rooms.
In addition to the first floor (a historic landmark), which can be rented for up to 8 people, the attic (Burg Maisonette) accommodates up to 6 people. On the first floor are 4 apartments, each ideally suited for 2 people. The Ahrquelle apartment offers a cozy bedroom and living area with a small kitchenette and bathroom in approximately 25 square meters. The Georgstor apartment, at approximately 55 square meters, also features a couch, a large kitchenette, and a spacious bathroom. The two newly renovated apartments, Jakobsweg and Eifelsteig, have direct access through a door inside the apartment to their own small terrace with a dining table and grill. The Jakobsweg apartment, at approximately 35 square meters, has a studio-like feel thanks to its separate double bed and large couch. The Eifelsteig apartment, at approximately 30 square meters, features a cozy bedroom and living area with large armchairs for relaxing. Dogs are welcome here.

Guests staying on the first floor have their own terrace with a large table and grill. Guests staying in the attic have access to the garden on the first floor, which features a terrace and a large table with a grill. Guests staying in the “Ahrquelle” or “Georgstor” apartments can also use the terrace in the garden, which is equipped with dining tables and a grill.

Use of the wellness area is free of charge and can be reserved by our guests for a few hours each day.
Two private parking spaces are located on the first floor, right next to the Posthalterhof, for guests. Above the garden area, three additional private parking spaces are available. Bicycles and motorcycles can also be parked securely.
Additional important information:
There are a few stairs inside the ground-floor apartment. The four apartments for two people are located on the first floor and can be accessed via the old staircase in the hallway or the staircase from the courtyard. The Burg Maisonette vacation rental is on the second floor and features many exposed beams. Due to its character and construction, our house is not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
Right across the street, you can get fresh rolls, bread, and cakes at the bakery. The Engel butcher shop, known for its Eifel-quality products, is about 200 meters away and offers meat and sausages produced in-house from farms in the Eifel region.
