This house has unique character, historic charm, and features you rarely find anymore. The grounds have the potential to look like a storybook. Unfortunately, the hosts do the absolute bare minimum to maintain the property, and the lack of cleanliness completely ruined our stay. For the high fee we paid, we expected a clean home. Instead, we found caked-on grime on the stove, burnt milk on the espresso machine, and a bathroom smelling of urine. The dining table and chairs had a sticky residue that ruined my sweater. Worst of all, the beds contained stains, crumbs, dirt, and bugs, forcing us to sleep on top of blankets.The maintenance is equally neglected. The shower head was broken, meaning we had to hold it up manually, and the shower curtain only covered 75% of the opening. Basic advertised toiletries like shampoo were missing. Outside, the grounds are overgrown, brown, and look like a fire hazard.When I reached out to the host with video and photo proof, they became defensive. They claimed they had "before photos" proving it was clean but refused to show them, completely dismissing the evidence of myself having to clean the house just to use it. While they eventually offered a partial refund, it does not negate the less-than-subpar accommodations—again, especially for the price. I can’t recommend staying here, but I gladly would if they actually took care of the place and their guests.
