Cozy Loft in Charming Waldo Home

Your home away from home in Kansas City with 1 bedroom, 3/4 bathroom, dining space, and living room with TV. This space is located on the second floor of my home and features a cozy queen bed and a large living room space with a futon couch/bed and a large L shaped desk if you plan to work. Guests will enjoy a clean bathroom with a shower (no tub), along with their own heating / AC to keep the space comfortable year-round. Whether you’re unwinding or catching up on some rest, this enjoyable spot offers a welcoming atmosphere. My private upstairs loft is located on the second floor of my home so you will enter my house to access the private loft area. To clarify, you do enter my home to access this space and it does not have a kitchen but does have a microwave, larger dorm refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster oven, and eating utensils for 4 people.

This was very nice place to stay. The host was very responsive to messages and even made the Futon it a bed before we arrived.

I am glad Philip and his family enjoyed their stay but sorry to hear they did not love it. I tried answering all of their questions as quickly and accurately as I could, but I know they were a little concerned about having to enter my home to get to the loft and that there was not a kitchen. I thought my posting explained this, but I have taken the feedback to make it more explicit so future guests are not surprised. Thank you for your stay and the feedback.

I appreciate the feedback. This is the second time Shawn and his guest stayed with me. I was not home for the majority of their stay. I am confused on the temperature settings they wanted for the loft. On the first stay, they set the AC at the lowest temperature and used two space heaters at maximum temperature. On this stay, I had removed the space heaters, but they asked for more blankets and left the window open when it was in the upper 90s while running the air conditioner. They also used the second guest bathroom on a different floor that required an extra cleaning since guests were arriving/renting the bedroom on that floor. Besides those items, they were quiet and kept the area clean.

Host was extremely responsive and proactive. Storm caused power outage in neighborhood during my stay and they routinely provided updates and also provided a generator for some power.Property was very clean and neighborhood was nice. Also included workstation to work from home as needed. Overall, very good value for the price and within driving distance of downtown.

This is the best of any in home rental we've experienced. I hate to say this because I hope to stay here a lot more, and hope it's available when we want!!A very comfortable, clean, spacious, and well -furnished apartment. Automatic lights everywhere, so you don't need a nightlight. The owner is very friendly and helpful, though we really didn't need anything extra from him. The neighborhood is quiet, just a few minutes away from shopping, restaurants, and just a few more to major attractions, colleges, and the free streetcar to Crown Center and downtown. On street parking in a quiet neighborhood, only approachable from the north, so traffic is minimal. The shower is small. There. That shows no place is perfect. But that's our only complaint. You will love staying here! Just make sure it's not when WE want to be here.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback and I do acknowledge the shower is small so it is very fair and good for future guests who are staying when Steve and his wife are not as they would be welcomed anytime they would like to visit.

I moved to Kansas City from Chicago and am now retired, but have moved 11 times (mostly in the midwest and southeast). I love to travel and have been to 45+ countries and all 7 continents, but I also like to sit on the front porch sipping Bourbon or laying on the bed petting my cat. I have a full range of hobbies, but most surround crafting, especially machine embroidery, and glamping (T@G teardrop camping trailer).

It is a quiet neighborhood and friendly tree lined dead end street with little traffic, where all of the neighbors know each other. It is also nice having the city park at the end of the street so you meet a lot of the neighbors walking to/from the park.

This is a sub-level private apartment with your own entrance and all the basic amenities.
