We’re so glad you found us!
Our two-family home is located below the church, next to a beautiful playground, indoor pool, and tennis court in Görwihl—the “Hotzenwald metropolis”—at an elevation of 650 m.
Here you’ll find a light-filled, lovingly renovated and furnished vacation apartment with underfloor heating, oak parquet flooring, and a historic tiled stove.

The 70 m² vacation apartment on the first floor is accessible via a steep, wide wooden staircase, which can be secured with a stair gate. The three rooms consist of two bedrooms with double beds 1.80 m wide, a spacious living room with a large round dining table and a modern sofa that doubles as a very comfortable sleeper sofa, as well as a fully equipped kitchen with a small breakfast table.
From the living room and one of the bedrooms, you can enjoy a view of the Swiss Alps between the neighboring houses when the weather is nice.
The shower room with a toilet is quite small but nice; there is also a separate guest restroom. There is no washing machine.

Wi-Fi is available for internet access, which is also used to operate the TV. There is no satellite dish or cable TV. You can log in to apps such as Netflix or Amazon Prime using your credentials; otherwise, the media libraries of the public broadcasters are available to you.

The wild and romantic garden features various seating areas, as well as a covered patio with a large fire pit and grill plate.
Storage space for bicycles is available. You can park your car in the town-owned parking lot, right in front of the house.
We live in the ground-floor apartment ourselves; the garden is shared.

Surrounding Area
The Hotzenwald is a region in the southern Black Forest that stretches from the Schwarza River to the Wehra River and from the Rhine to the 1,263-meter-high Hochkopf.
The wild and romantic natural landscape, with its waterfalls, gorges, and mountains, offers countless opportunities for hikers, mountain bikers, and those seeking relaxation.

You can reach the sun-drenched student city of Freiburg, with its medieval city center and famous cathedral, via the impressive route through the Upper Black Forest in about 1 hour.
The Rhine Valley, which borders Switzerland directly, offers a diverse range of cultural and recreational activities with its picturesque, historic old towns of Bad Säckingen, Waldshut, and Tiengen.
The well-known EuroVelo route, the world’s largest network of cycling routes, also passes through here.
The Swiss cities of Basel and Zurich are about an hour away and, with their big-city charm, offer a wide range of things to explore.
The historic town of Schaffhausen (CH), home to the Rhine Falls—Europe’s largest waterfall—also makes for an interesting day trip.
Nearby Alsace offers interesting day trip destinations with its picturesque towns of Colmar and Strasbourg, the Vosges Mountains, and the Écomusée d’Alsace (a museum of traditional farming and crafts).
