Location was great. House fit large family. Downstairs has two seperate air units and new dehumidifier- but it’s still is going to smell like a basement.

Edisto retreat

The house was very bright and open. We were traveling with a 104 year old, and the elevator made a trip to the place where he grew up possible. The beach access near the home was handicap accessible which was also a added bonus. The location worked out perfectly for us.

Great place to spend Labor Day Weekend

The Waves of Grace rental was a fantastic place to spend our Labor Day 2024 weekend with friends. The house is spacious and had plenty of room for 5 adults and 9 kids aged 7-15. Open floor plan is great, and you will not beat the location. It’s about a 2 min walk to the beach if you walk slow, right by across st from beach access. Wrap around porch was nice for sitting and enjoying the ocean breeze. Kids were downstairs with their own bathroom, air conditioning, and TV which they highly enjoyed. Main room TV can be a little tricky to figure out - nothing we didn’t eventually decipher for watching football. I would highly recommend staying here if you want lots of space, easy access to the beach, and a fun place to make great memories.

Christmas Weekend

We stayed in this home the weekend after Christmas. The upstairs was nicely remodeled. I would recommend updating beds as they are no5 very comfortable in any room. As stated in previous reviews the musty smell in the downstairs rooms is still very strong. We ran the air purifier, but it didn’t help. The home is in a very good location across the street from public beach access and a block from Whaley’s.

Maintaining the home was the issue

We have rented homes at Edisto for 20 years. I will say this visit was the worst experience in 20 years of renting. I am only giving two stars because the home was very nice. However, we were without air in the bottom bedrooms and one bed upstairs was flat due to being a sleep number bed with a hole in it. We were not made aware of these issues prior to check in or we may have been able to readjust. I will never use Vacasa again. Deleting the app from my phone. We should have been notified of the issues because they knew the air was out and the bed was flat and unusable. How they “fixed” the problems each time did not help. The bed would be flat again in an hour and the breaker tripped due to the temporary air units used. We did not have access to the remote for the bed nor the breakers. What was to be an amazing weekend of celebrating a college graduate turned into a miserable beach experience.

The issues with the air conditioning and sleep number bed were unacceptable, and I regret the inconvenience caused. Both downstairs mini-split AC units have been replaced, and the master bedroom now has a new standard king mattress. A great last minute vacation experience!!

Our vacation on Edisto almost did not happen this year due to a few things but after visiting for the day in April we got the bug and started looking and even though it was so late in the spring for 2024 we found this property available. So we booked for a week initially but then had the opportunity to extend the time an additional four days which I did. Overall the home is in great shape for being an older beach rental on Edisto. It has been updated with new appliances all of which work with no issues. Great care is apparent in the remodel as well. What was really great about renting it was the provided bed linens, towels, hand soap (Mrs Myers) dish and bath soaps. We did not have to pack any in!!!!!! Floors were clean no dust or sand on them There are a couple of the beds that have mattresses past their prime and should be replaced. But overall everything else was well above our expectations after having rented from the other local rental agents. The elevator definitely came in handy with moving luggage. The house is second row, but right across the street from the 28th beach access. Sitting on the porch was very nice with the breeze and the sound or the waves slowly rolling in. It took less than a minute to make the walk over and there is plenty of beach even with high tide. We did have a minor issue with a cracked coffee pot that leaked the first morning but the office quickly brought over a replacement with no questions. Later another minor issue with the AC drain and it was also rectified quicker than expected. Outside of those two issues I can't find anything else to say other than it was a really great experience. Service from check in til check out was phenomenal such a great experience! Next year we'll definitely look into renting from Vacasa first over the others. (Hopefully Waves of Grace will be available!)

Worst vacation ever

We arrived at Edisto Island around 1400. Went by Vacasa to see if we could get an early check in. After about ten minutes the woman came back to the window and said that we couldn't check in until 1600. We’ll fine, that’s what the contract said so we proceeded to the property and parked on the street adjacent to Waves of Grace. Most of the family went to the beach. I stayed in my truck. While we were there the cleaning crew arrived around 1445. About 1530 i drove back to Vacasa to see if I could get the keys then. Still not allowed. So I just hung out in their parking area until 1600. Got the keys went back to the property and started the process of moving in. We can’t fault them for not letting us check in early, but the reason became evident when we did get in. The floors were filthy. No way they were moped, vacuumed or even swept. We contacted Vacasa and requested a vacuum so “WE” could clean the floors. After a while they answered our request, saying that a vacuum could not be provided because it was not listed on the amenities for the property. During our.evening meal my son Charles tore his brand new shorts on a nail protruding from the bench. We knocked the nail in and checked for others. The table and benches had big chips and gaps on the edging. Not what one would expect from a high dollar listing. The beds were atrocious, very uncomfortable. The king bed in the master suite was too low and broken down bedding. On checkout day we stripped the bedding as per directed

The house is better in person then the pictures. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach and time with family. We appreciated the attention by Vacasa when the dryer would not work. New washer and dryer was ordered. Overall great trip!

Great family spot!

Perfect Beach House. Three bedrooms/ two Baths upstairs on main floor (including master) and then 2 bedrooms downstairs with a bath in between. We didn't use downstairs bunk room, but downstairs would have been perfect for a couple with small children. The other downstairs room had what looked like a King bed and the airconditioner was in the room. The elevator was perfect for bringing up my heavy suitcase and then for bringing down the cooler of fish we caught after a deep sea fishing expedition. (book early!) Edisto has several restaurants (in middle of island and on river side. Whole Edisto Beach portion of the island is probably 3 miles long and maybe a mile wide at widest point at southern end. All in all a great place to stay if you want to have quality family time. We did a couple of trips to Charleston (about an hour away) for fun and also visited the islands of Isle of Palm and Sullivans Island (off of Mt Pleasant and North Charleston. One day was spent on the waterfront of Charleston. All restaurants are super casual on Edisto, but good food. Perfect place and house for relaxing. Location was excellent - barely 2 minutes before your feet were on the beach. Small road separates house from beach, but the island itself (and I was there on Memorial Day weekend) is not crowded and even the main road was not busy.

When we arrived, the water had been turned off at the house & street; maintenance had to come cut it own; the 2 individual heating units downstairs did not work; had to call maintenance took them about 30 mins to get the units operational; this was a house for 14 and we had 1 hair dryer; no one preped the front porch/deck before our arrival; chairs and siding mildewed; the kitchen/den had been upgraded and was very nice. Not sure why u have to stop at realty office to pick up/drop off keys; most rental properties I’m accustomed to have keypad entry,
