Our vacation home is located on the outskirts of the only village on Lanzarote with a natural palm grove. From the terrace, you have a direct view of the village and the island’s highest peak, the Peñas del Cache. A popular organic and arts-and-crafts market takes place every Saturday in the village center. Although it has only about 1,100 residents, the village still has several small supermarkets, restaurants, an ATM, and even a post office that is open seasonally.
However, Hará is best known as the former home and studio of the late artist César Manrique, which is now a popular museum. Manrique has shaped the island for decades with his architectural visions, which continue to influence it to this day. These include (within the municipality of Haría alone) the “Jameos del Agua,” “Mirador del Río,” and “Jardín de Cactus.” And, of course, you can also enjoy wonderful walks right from the house. A beach is located about 7 km away in the Arrieta district.
Our house was built around 1900 as a simple farmhouse (finca), but then fell into disrepair over many decades and is now a historic landmark. Twenty-five years ago, it was restored and modernized with great attention to detail. In addition to the two bedrooms and the bathroom, the house features a typical Spanish entryway (formerly a patio), a kitchen-diner, and a living room. A landscaped garden lies in front of the terrace above. A pergola was built in the hallway outside the house.
We use the house ourselves often, always feel very comfortable here—and hope that you, too, can enjoy a relaxing vacation here.
Our caretaker couple will take care of you as needed. Miguel is responsible for the garden and any necessary repairs, and Rosa handles housekeeping and guest orientation.
