Mas des Amis: Private Luxury Estate with 20m Pool & Tennis Court in Eygalières
Nestled just 2 km north of the center of Eygalières, MAS DES AMIS offers rare privacy, one of the largest private swimming pools in the region (8m x 20m), its own tennis court, a large park with an amphitheatre for artistic performances and private events, if desired — a true Provençal retreat for up to six guests.
It was built five decades ago with antique materials. The beams supporting its roof come from a historic building and impress every visitor. It is also fully air-conditioned and wheel-chair accessible.
There are three en-suite bedrooms at a convenient distance from each other, to allow for complete privacy, each with separate entrances from the south terrace and also from the inner central living spaces.
It is all on one floor with an ample living room, from which three steps lead up to its kitchen-dining area. It is adjacent to the swimming pool and the tennis court.
A wonderful south and a north terrace, by the pool, make it possible for you to enjoy the early morning sun and the sunset, both glorious in Provence.
A back kitchen, a laundry room and a gym fitted with a workbench for weightlifting are practical additions to this pleasant, generous house. There is also a fully-equiped summer kitchen in the pool house.
If you are accompanied by a baby sitter or a caretaker couple, you could rent an extra room with an en-suite bathroom and a separate entrance in the separate HOUSE FOR THE STAFF for EUR 110 / night. (see below, where the house for the staff is described.)
The house is available the whole year round and suited for early-season retirees, remote workers, couples, and small cycling groups. We offer discounts for long stays.

MAS DES AMIS is the guest house of our main house, a 17th C farmhouse we call MAS D'ANTAN (sleeps 12). The houses are situated about 40-50 m apart, allowing for complete and desirable privacy.
Access to MAS DES AMIS is via a separate gate and driveway ending in a parking for up to three cars. A charger for electric cars is also available on the property. Details to be discussed.
Both houses are rentable independently or together. When you rent MAS DES AMIS, the other house stays empty, unless the owners' family is in residence. Even in this case, you and your family and friends will enjoy complete privacy. You will have exclusive use of the pool and the tennis court, should you wish so.
There is a smaller third HOUSE FOR STAFF and/or PET SITTERS at the entrance of the property, closer to MAS d'ANTAN than to MAS DES AMIS, completely private as well. If you are accompanied by a baby sitter or a caretaker couple, you could rent an extra room with an en-suite bathroom and a separate entrance in this house for the staff for EUR 110 / night.

THE LOCATION:
Situated less than an hour north of the airport of Marseilles, Eygalières may well be the most charming village in the Alpilles. It has recently served as the setting to a film, and its Friday morning market is famous in the region. While attracting Parisians and international visitors, the village has preserved its Provençal traditions and a thriving local community. Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Arles, Nîmes, the Luberon, Les Baux and St. Rémy de Provence are all close, as are many charming cafés and restaurants. The center of the village is a five-minute drive away – or you can walk or bike to it along back-roads and trails among olive groves. The best baker in the region is just around the corner!
SPECIFIC FEATURES:
Our 8 ha / 20-acre estate is one of the most exclusive properties in Eygalières. It offers complete privacy and unobstructed views towards the Alpilles and the old hilltop village. It features two main houses, the Farmhouse and the Guesthouse, a smaller house for staff / pet sitters, beautiful gardens with ponds and pergolas, as well as an amphitheater for private performances. Centuries-old plane trees shade the farmhouse, while lavender, roses, wisteria, rosemary, camellias, rhododendrons and many other carefully chosen rare specimens will enchant garden lovers. Olive groves, orchards, a vegetable garden and extensive fields complete the charming and peaceful setting.
In season you are welcome to harvest fresh produce from our vegetable garden. In the orchard are cherries, peaches, plums, figs, apricots and pears. Chickens lay fresh eggs every day in spring and summer. You will also have the opportunity to taste our own olive oil.
A 20 * 8 m / 66*23 ft swimming pool (larger than many in luxury hotels!), a newly refurbished tennis court, a workout bench and weights, two bikes as well as walks through and around the property, and hikes through the Alpilles and Luberon hills offer ample opportunity for exercise.
One friendly dog watches over the property and three lovely cats come by to visit from time to time. A proud rooster and its companion hens are a pleasure to watch, as are the gold fish in the ponds. A riding facility is just next door.
While you are in residence, you’ll have the place to yourselves – except if you wish to meet us and if we are free to do so.
Our estate administrator will be happy to assist you with practical matters; the maid will help out twice a week, but not on weekends -- she can come by if needed at an extra cost -- and the two gardeners can show you around the gardens. Their English is improving by the day, but do brush up your French as well!

Exceptional chef upon request, to be hired by the guests separately, a few weeks in advance, recommendations for caterers that we value ourselves, accurate descriptions of hikes, possibility to hire baby sitters .
