Our brick granary is a former grain storage facility that was built in the Middle Ages and has undergone continuous modifications over the centuries. It was restored with great care and considerable effort by 2012 - 2015, modernized, and fitted with high-quality amenities.
A total of four apartments have been created in the brick granary, three of which are currently rented out.
During the renovation, we placed great emphasis on preserving the building’s original character (exposed beams in all rooms and exposed brickwork).
The living comfort meets today’s high standards, and we’ve also incorporated the spaciousness of the granary into the floor plans of all apartments.
The combination of the historic building structure with stylish, modern furniture and furnishings, as well as the use of high-quality materials (oak floorboards, natural stone bathrooms), is sure to delight you as well!
The generously proportioned, airy, and bright apartments each feature a spacious dining and living area (with a side view of the church), an integrated, fully equipped kitchen, 1 (in the Jakobi and Nikolai apartments) or 3 (Sternwitten apartment) comfortable bedrooms with comfortable double beds, and a cozy outdoor area—either a rooftop terrace or loggia (Jakobi and Nikolai apartments) or a terrace (Sternwitten apartment)—that invites you to relax outdoors.
All bedrooms feature comfortable box-spring double beds.
In addition, each of the three apartments has a high-quality sofa bed that sleeps up to 2 additional guests.
Location: The Backsteinspeicher is located on a quiet residential street in the heart of Stralsund’s Old Town island. It’s just a few minutes’ walk to the harbor island with its sailing marina, many restaurants, and the Ozeaneum. Numerous shopping options, all museums, the theater, and movie theaters are also just a few minutes’ walk away.
The municipal beach is only about 1.8 km away and can be reached quickly and easily on foot or by bike. The journey there is a destination in itself, as it runs along the Sund Promenade, always hugging the Strelasund.
A well-developed bike path runs north along the coast of the Strelasund to the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park; to the south, it also runs along the Strelasund.
As the gateway to Rügen, Stralsund is situated in a particularly romantic location right on the water and combines the urban charm of a historic UNESCO World Heritage city with quick access to the stunning, kilometer-long natural beaches on Rügen, the island of Hiddensee, and the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula. Usedom is also easily accessible by train via the ÜBB.
