A house that has stories to tell... – This tasteful vacation apartment, featuring a beautiful terrace with a sea view, is nestled in the terraced alleys of Albori’s historic center. Albori is officially one of Italy’s most beautiful villages.
"Se voi sapeste quante storie potrebbe raccontare questa casa" – "If only you knew how many stories this house could tell": with these words, the friendly manager of Casa Vecchia opened the door for us. And we wanted to hear those stories, even though the typical domed ceilings—up to 3.50 meters high—the original floors, the antique furniture, and the countless books speak more eloquently than many words about the history of the house.
Casa Vecchia is located on the first floor of a 17th-century house. However, thanks to its hillside location, you have ground-level access to the apartment.
MEDITERRANEAN VACATION
At Casa Vecchia, you don’t just immerse yourself in a fascinating piece of the past. Here you can enjoy a true “Mediterranean vacation” and savor the outdoors to the fullest. The terrace, which runs the full width of the house, is adorned with magnificent potted plants, and the deep-blue sea lies at your feet.
On the covered portion of the terrace, a beautiful mosaic table with seating promises delightful hours spent dining together. The rear section of the ocean-view terrace invites you to sunbatathe and browse through your vacation reading material.
TASTEFUL DECOR & LARGE OCEAN-VIEW TERRACE
The stylish entryway leads directly into the living room. The beautiful floor dates back to the 17th century, and the fireplace and fine furnishings create an atmosphere that is both elegant and cozy. A French balcony overlooking the Piazzetta and a door leading to the terrace ensure plenty of light and an airy feel. The kitchen-dining area, with its high domed ceiling, original 18th-century tiles, display cabinet, and French balcony overlooking the piazza, is small but very charming.
Casa Vecchia features 2 full-sized bedrooms (each with air conditioning available for a fee). The bedroom with a double bed has a very special charm thanks to the bookshelf, old family photographs, and the desk. The bedroom with two single beds (which can also be pushed together to form a double bed) has a small en-suite bathroom. The second bathroom is accessible from the hallway. Between the two bedrooms is a reading and living room. All three rooms offer a view of the sea and direct access to the terrace.
Please note: Due to its layout, this vacation rental is not suitable for families with small children. The terrace above the apartment, which is also enclosed by a gate, must not be accessed. The owners assume no liability.
PARKING: Casa Vecchia is not directly accessible by car. A reserved, locked parking space can be provided for a fee. Public parking spaces are available along the street outside the town center.
ALBORI, BARS, RESTAURANTS & THE SEA
In Albori, you’ll be vacationing in one of Italy’s most beautiful villages. In the Campania region, only a limited number of towns belong to this “Borghi più belli d’Italia” club. In tranquil Albori, you’ll also have the opportunity to experience the Amalfi Coast from its authentic, rural side. Hiking enthusiasts can set out on their treks into the mountains and along the coast right from Casa Vecchia.
In the daily lives of the locals, the observant traveler gradually catches a glimpse of the soul of “Bella Italia.” The residents know and greet one another; people stroll at a leisurely pace through the narrow alleys and under the arched gateways. Clotheslines stretch from one’s own window to the neighbor’s across the way, fragrant basil grows in pots in front of the doors, small statues of the Virgin Mary are lovingly decorated, and the children are, of course, picked up from school by “nonno,” their grandfather.
Café-bars, a bruschetteria, and the highly recommended restaurant at the local agriturismo are about 100 m away. Grocery stores can be found in the neighboring town of Raito, approximately 800 m away. The nearest sandy beach is about 3 km away and can also be reached on foot via a staircase. For the return trip, we recommend using the
