The family-friendly town of Hohenfels-Essingen is located in the heart of the scenic Vulkaneifel region. The nearby basalt quarries and the historic Mühlsteinhöhlen caves are particularly popular. The entire property has been lovingly furnished and is reserved exclusively for our guests. Surrounded by nature and numerous hiking trails, it offers the ideal starting point for discovering the beauty of the Eifel and its many attractions.

Other highlights include Pelmer Kasselburg, home to a very well-preserved castle with birds of prey and wolves. At the Daun Wildlife and Adventure Park, you can take an 8-kilometer safari tour in your own car. A large playground for children and a 6-hectare monkey enclosure are also part of the park.

Hohenfels-Essingen has a population of about 350 and offers excellent access to the A1 and A48 highways, as well as short distances to the towns of Daun and Gerolstein. The vacation home is quietly situated on the outskirts of town, surrounded by forests and nature.

The accommodation can be unlocked via a smart lock. There is a keypad at our front door. Three days before your stay, you’ll receive a personalized code. With these access credentials, you can enter the accommodation at any time during your stay.

Our accommodations are cleaned by a professional cleaning company. The cleaning fee includes, among other things:

We are a rental service in the Eifel region and support our hosts in accommodating our guests. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a booking confirmation with a link to our digital travel guide. There you’ll find our personal recommendations for restaurants, hiking trails, and recreational activities, as well as lots of other useful information about your accommodation. No later than three days before your arrival, we’ll send you a personalized code for self-check-in via smart lock. If you have any questions before or during your stay, we’re always here to help.
House Rules:

1. Inventory and Damage

We ask that you treat our inventory with care and return used dishes to the cabinets only when they are clean and dry. Damage to furniture and furnishings can happen and is often easily repaired. Please notify us immediately of any damage.

2. Noise Levels and Quiet Hours

Please be considerate of our neighbors and keep noise levels in the vacation rental at a reasonable volume, especially when listening to music or watching TV. Quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM.

3. Visitors

Your visitors are welcome in our vacation rental at any time for short periods. However, it is not permitted to allow unregistered guests to stay overnight in the vacation rental. If the number of guests changes, please inform us in a timely manner so that we can prepare the vacation rental accordingly.

4. Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the entire property.
Smoking is only permitted in fully open outdoor areas. Please keep doors and windows closed so that no smoke drifts into the house.

If a smoke odor does develop in the vacation rental, we will have to charge you for the resulting special cleaning costs (e.g., ozone treatment).

5. Pets

Pets are welcome in our vacation rental. The number is limited to a maximum of 2. Please note, however, that you must report any damage caused by your pet to us.

6. Safety and Valuables

Always close all windows and the front door before leaving the vacation rental, and be sure to turn off all electronic devices. We assume no liability for the loss of valuables during your stay.

7. Cleaning

A thorough final cleaning of the vacation rental will be performed by our cleaning service after your departure, as agreed. However, we ask that you clean up any major messes in advance and leave the apartment swept clean upon departure.

8. Environment

We care about the environment, and we hope you do too. Therefore, please turn off the lights and all electronic devices when they are not in use. Conserving water also helps the environment. Thank you.

9. Candlelight

Lighting candles is not permitted in our vacation home. To create a cozy atmosphere, the wood-burning stove in the living room may be used with due care.

10. Noise Prevention

Decibel meters are installed in the accommodation; they measure volume only—not conversations or content. Your privacy remains protected. The devices must not be removed, covered, or tampered with. If you are asked to lower the volume, you must comply immediately. The noise level must not exceed 60 decibels at any time, either inside or outside the accommodation.

In the event of non-compliance or failure to heed repeated requests, we reserve the right to terminate your stay in extreme cases. We ask for your understanding and consideration for our neighbors.

11. Electric Car Charging

Charging electric cars using the vacation home’s standard electrical outlet is not permitted.

Please use only the designated EV charging station next to the front door.

Payment is made in cash on a trust basis. Please calculate the electricity used at €0.50 per kilowatt-hour and leave the corresponding amount at the accommodation before departure.

Hot Tub & Swimming Pool Rules:

1. Energy-Saving Mode

Please do not make any changes to the hot tub settings, especially do not activate the energy-saving mode.

2. Soap & Oils

Do not use soap or oils in the hot tub.

3. Swimwear

Wear swimwear when using the hot tub.

4. Showering

Do not enter the hot tub or swimming pool until after you have showered.

5. Glass

Do not use glass nearby.

6. Secure the cover

Please replace and secure the hot tub cover after use.

8. Children and teenagers

Never leave your children unattended.

9. Dehydration

Drink water regularly, even if you’re not thirsty. Avoid alcohol and caffeinated beverages.

Sauna Rules

1. Health & Use

Use of the sauna is at your own risk. Please be mindful of your well-being and leave the sauna immediately if you feel unwell. People with health conditions should consult a doctor beforehand.

2. Hygiene

Please shower before using the sauna and use a large towel as a mat on the benches. You may enter the sauna in swimwear, but do not place wet swimwear on the wooden benches.

3. Temperature & Infusions

The sauna reaches high temperatures—make sure to acclimate yourself to the heat gradually. Please use only the infusions provided, as other substances may damage the sauna or pose a safety risk.

4. Safety & Ventilation

Please ventilate the sauna for at least 15 minutes after use. The sauna door must not be left open continuously while the sauna is in operation. Please ensure that the sauna is properly turned off after use.

Important Note Regarding the Hot Tub: Please ensure that the hot tub is at least half full before use and, in any case, filled with water above the stove’s inlet pipe. The water may not be drained until the heater has completely gone out and cooled down.

Important note regarding the swimming pool: Please note that the swimming pool is not fenced in and therefore poses an increased safety risk, especially for children and non-swimmers. We ask that you exercise extra caution at all times and never allow children to play near the pool unsupervised.
