The two bathrooms offer both a shower ( double shower head, his and hers) and a japanese soaktub, in addition to a beautiful outdoor shower, providing flexibility and comfort. Beautiful & Convenient Retreat

The house was located in perfect access to hiking trails, downtown and the ocean. My family had a wonderful time. It is beautifully decorated and comfortable in every way.

Great location for us

We enjoyed the proximity to the big park across the street to walk our dog and the setting of the house was very pleasant. The house had everything we needed and was totally consistent with the description.

beautiful spot, close to beach and hiking

Very comfortable and peaceful place. Enjoyed spending time with friends cooking together and exploring Santa Cruz. Definitely planning on returning in the future.

Delightful Santa Cruz spot

The house is a lovely, airy and light-filled place, perched on the side of a hill. The deck is perfect for morning coffee or evening wine. It's a quick drive into town. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great country house!

This was an amazing trip. We were right in Santa Cruz, but right in the mountains! Amazing hike across the street! We really loved our time up there! Thank you!

Great Place!

Wonderful place! Just what we needed for a quick getaway. Feels like you are miles away from everything, yet all the necessities are just a short car trip away. Outdoor space was by far the best feature of this house. We would return. :)

Coziest Weekend Away!

Our stay in this house was absolutely wonderful and the place is definitely a must see. It was clean, beautifully decorated and very cozy. The bed is incredibly comfortable, but what really sold us was the double head shower and the soaking tub. The location is great, close to town and great food, however, one would definitely want a car. There's a great dog park/hiking trail across the way which our puppy enjoyed very much. Overall, I definitely would come back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic getaway in Santa Cruz.

Great location, private, cozy, smart user-friendly lay out, clean, great features.

This was a perfect place! The set up was perfect for us - two families each with one kid. Great beds, linens, bathrooms, deck, bbq, privacy and location. Was clean and owner was extremely conscientious and friendly. Even went out of her way to return rings we accidentally left! I would return if I even found myself in S Cruz again. Highly recommend!!

Clean and great location

Our family of 6 stayed here for Memorial Day Weekend for our son's soccer tournament. Great location and very clean. On the smaller side for 6 people, better for 4, but we didn't spend much time inside the house.... mostly outside enjoying the view and quiet nature. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to enjoy our meals together. (The only downside was the lack of dishwasher.) Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Perfect Location in Santa Cruz

Perfect spot to be close to everything but out of the craziness of the beach area. Very modern house that is perfect for 2 people, can work with 4 people but probably tricky with 6 people. Not great if you have little kids but works with teens. Also, works great with dogs because of the large enclosed backyard. Very clean and well stocked. We would return.

Great house, but missing a few items

This is a great little house. Very comfortable beds, but we found that the kitchen was missing a few items, especially a dishwasher and blender. Also, it gets very hot in the afternoon, because the sun shines directly in and the roof retains all the heat. For the price, these items need to be corrected. But great owners, and the house is close to everything but also removed from the city to make it a very tranquil vacation spot.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay! The house IS indeed a lovely place to stay as you said when you left, and everyone always says it's a unique and tranquil place. I'm sorry you happened to visit during the hottest recorded month in the history of Santa Cruz (and California!). The entire state was hot, and If I could control the weather, I would have turned the dial down a few degrees for you... And as I stated at the beginning of your stay~ I'm always just a phone call away, so was a blender:) ***Thank you SO much for staying with us in Santa Cruz***

Enchanting House

My family and I had an amazing stay at this property. The pictures on the property profile are spot on. The home was extremely clean and was stocked who plenty of bedding and towels. We love to cook and thoroughly enjoyed the spacious kitchen. The family room is small but the windows, patio, and natural lighting make it spacious. This was our first vacation rental so I was a little skeptical but after this trip we are definitely planning on returning next year for a longer stay. The location is prime, it is truly close to the boardwalk, the ocean, the mystery spot, and other attractions. There are an abundance of quaint and healthy grocery stores . The city is extremely Eco-friendly so bring/purchase bags for groceries and other store bought items and I highly recommend bringing your bikes if you are able to!

Best of Both Worlds! Serene Country Cottage Only Five Minutes from the Best of Santa Cruz!!

I am writing this review after our third stay at this wonderful home! Not only is the house modern, clean and accommodating, but it 's location is super convenient. You can be on the 1, 17 or the beach truly within 5 minutes!! My family, (2 adults, 2 kids (10 & 8)) and 2 pups find absolute serenity once we arrive at this wonderful getaway. The owner, Pat, has done such an amazing job with the use of space in the house. We love, as a family, to have our meals together upstairs, looking out onto peacefulness of the forest, but then the kids disperse to the downstairs, where they can hang out in the lounge/TV area or the bedroom with a cool loft. The kitchen is perfectly stocked and well provided. We love cooking with the Wedgewood!! The trails at Delaveaga Park, which are directly across the street, are great for the dogs and for seeing Banana Slugs!! Plus, You are only 2 miles from the adventure of the Mystery Spot!! All in all, this house is an absolute gem!! The combination of gorgeous house and amazing owner makes this a place we will return to again and again!!

A good place to stay if ......

All in all our stay was pleasant at the house. There were 4 adults and a 14 month old child. Of course whenever you bring a child to a new environment there are things to resolve. My reservations about the house were not regarding this issue. The first floor is made of a large kitchen and eating are plus a bedroom with bath. The natural light a views as well as the kitchen were great. The bed was large and comfortable. The bath was clean and adequate. Outside there was plenty of places to sit on the west side porch that wraps the house. Our only criticism is the lower floor where there is a sitting area and bedroom. The sitting are was very small. It would be fine for 2 people but the 4 of us never found it to be a comfortable place to hang out. Most of the time we socialized on the top floor at the table. In the bedroom there was a closet but no drawers for the contents of a suitcase I'd recommend the house for one couple or possibly a couple with children. However I don't think it works well with 4 adults

I'm so glad you enjoyed the house and your stay in Santa Cruz! The upstairs of the home is indeed a lovely area to hang out, and I know that couples who have stayed downstairs have also enjoyed the separation of space that they get from that bedroom,private bath with the double shower, access to the yard and the sitting den. I can see that with a toddler that the stairs may have been a challenge though:) I'm sorry you didn't see that the upstairs king bed frame has 6 empty drawers on the bottom where people usually store their folded clothes. I will put a note in the closest for future guests pointing that out-thank you for the feedback. Thank you for staying with us-you were great guests!!
