Düffelward is a small, idyllic village on the edge of the Düffelt, in the heart of the Lower Rhine region, near the Dutch border with Millingen and the Dutch cities of Nijmegen and Arnhem. The city of Kleve is only 6 km away. A wide range of cultural and recreational activities for all ages leaves nothing to be desired.
From fishing, swimming, motorcycling, and biking along the Via Romana or the Lower Rhine Route to hiking in the Reichswald or simply relaxing—everything is possible in the immediate vicinity. Visit the surrounding towns of Kranenburg, Kalkar, Emmerich, Goch, or Kevelaer.
Other attractions include Moyland Castle with its Joseph Beuys Museum and the Xanten Archaeological Park. Stroll through the shopping streets, visit the Museum Kurhaus Kleve, for example, or take a walk through the adjacent historic park and tour the Schwanenburg, our local landmark.
The Hasenkath Guesthouse on the Dike is located on the edge of the Düffel, right on the Via Romana, a designated cycling route.
