The vacation home is nestled between picturesque alleyways in the virtually car-free mountain village of Osteno-Claino.
You can reach restaurants, a café bar and an alimentari (small grocery store) on foot.
Claino is a medieval village on the south-eastern arm of Lake Lugano, surrounded by woods and springs. It has retained its original character. The old village center can be reached via historic archways that once served as protection against robbers. Narrow alleyways, pebble steps and narrow squares characterize the townscape. The buildings display ancient decorations and noble coats of arms, reminiscent of the time of the feudal lords. Street names refer to local personalities and professions, such as the “Via dei dottori”. From the village center, old paths lead to important places such as the washing fountain with chapel and the Oratory of Santa Giulia. The old paths also lead to the lakeshore and other parts of the village.
A cobblestone path through the alleyways of the historic center of Claino leads you to the front door. The internal staircase leads down to a rustic wine and food cellar and upstairs to the cozy living area with kitchen, dining table and couch. There is a beautiful fireplace, which is for decoration only, but still gives the room a cozy atmosphere. The kitchen windows look out onto the neighboring church and you have a view of the church tower.
Two steps lead from the living area to one of the bedrooms with a single bed.
Another staircase leads up to the 2nd floor with two bedrooms - a double bedroom and a single bedroom. The bathroom has a shower, washbasin, WC and bidet.
In the basement there is a wine cellar and a laundry room with washing machine.
