Mönchgut is incredibly diverse and showcases its variety to every visitor! You’ll find the entrance gate to the Mönchgut Peninsula at the entrance to the Baltic Sea resort town of Baabe. The thatched wooden gate was built in 2002, and the figures depicted on it embody the traditional values of Mönchgut as it was back then. Among them are the abbot of the former Eldena Monastery, Prince Jaromar, and a Mönchgut fishing couple in traditional costume. The landscape is characterized by its pine forests, fields, meadows, and small fishing villages such as Gager, Thiessow, and Groß Zicker. The extensive bike and hiking trails are ideal for exploring the countryside and finding some beautiful photo opportunities.
