Holidays in a listed building combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.Car park: Two uncovered parking spaces are located directly next to the house. Access to the house is guaranteed.Public transport: In winter, the Zurich S-Bahn takes you directly to Unterterzen, from where you can reach Oberterzen within five minutes by cable car. During the summer months you have to change trains once in Ziegelbrücke. The house is almost directly next to the cable car station in Oberterzen.Please note: The Flumserberg mountain railways carry out an overhaul every spring and autumn. During the revision, the cable cars do not run or do not run regularly.Number of persons 8: A baby cot (up to 1 year) is available. The house can accommodate eight guests (plus baby). There are two double rooms and one four-bed room. On the ground floor is the luxuriously equipped kitchen with a fireplace. Next to it is the living room with a small adjoining room. From there you can access the sun room, where you can open the large south-facing windows and relax after a sauna session. The sauna is located below the sun room. On the second floor there are two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom (one with shower/WC and one with bath/WC). On the 3rd floor there is a large room with a double bed and two single beds fitted into the sloping roof, plus a shower and separate WC. A staircase leads up from the entrance hall to the beautiful roof terrace.Extras: There is a sauna with a sun room/relaxation room.Garden: The house does not have its own garden, but there is a wonderful roof terrace.WLAN: Is available. In the living room you will find a complete home cinema equipment.Open: The house can be rented all year round.Pets: Pets allowed on request.Altitude: 700 metres above sea level.Other living room facilities: The living room is located in the former Sunday parlour. The historic panelling and floors have been preserved and now harmonise with the modern furnishings. The living room is equipped with a home cinema system.Other bedroom furnishings: The former summerhouses were in such a desolate state that they could be demolished. The new extension now offers space for every luxury. This also applies to the first bedroom: the modern bedroom has a double bed, a built-in wardrobe and a separate bathroom.Other kitchen equipment: The modern kitchen is equipped with every convenience, such as a dishwasher, ice machine and steamer. All necessary appliances and sufficient crockery are available. The large dining table has enough space to invite guests. In winter, the fireplace provides warmth and cosiness.IMPORTANT ADDITIONThe Schindelhaus is a listed building that has been renovated with great respect for the existing substance. The tenant is aware of this and treats the property with care. Although the technical equipment is up-to-date, certain functional details do not meet current standards and are a potential source of danger. The tenant is aware of these circumstances.
