¡Casa cajún del siglo XIX con gran encanto y comodidades modernas!

¡Alrededor de 1890, esta casa histórica tiene muchos personajes antiguos únicos con un estilo moderno que no verá en ningún otro lugar! Consiste en techos de 12 pies y todos los pisos de madera originales. La casa está completamente amueblada, incluyendo una cama king size, un sofá cama, una silla extragrande con dos camas individuales, una cocina Wolf de 6 quemadores con todos los utensilios de cocina que pueda necesitar. El baño principal tiene una gran ducha de ladrillo. ¡El trabajo original del molino, el hardware y las paredes pintadas de 1890 se han conservado! El porche delantero tiene 2 balancines o puede relajarse en la gran terraza cubierta de cipreses con pozo de carbón en la parte trasera de la casa que se abre a un patio de ladrillo. Ubicado en una zona muy tranquila y apacible, justo fuera de los límites de la ciudad de Lafayette, pero cerca de todo. ¡Un lugar increíble para los visitantes de Cajun Country o para cualquiera que esté buscando una escapada!

The sweetest place!

Loved our stay at The Castle. The well thought out decor and amenities made us feel so at home. Wonderfully restored old home for a small family vacation in the heart of Louisiana or hiding away on your own. Look forward to visiting again!

One of the best.

This is one of the best vacation homes we have rented. The house is very well appointed and maintained and Jared is a great guy. We stayed for only two nights but could have spent a week there and used it as a base to explore from.

The Castle is perfect!

We had a very comfortable stay at the Castle in Scott, LA. It’s a great place to enjoy an old well appointed cottage with all the amenities of modern life. The privacy and seclusion of the property is most attractive to us - and great to escape the stresses of city life. We’ll definitely be back again - and we hope very soon….

Best place to stay!

We love staying here! House is tidy and well-equipped. Gives us a great place to stay so that we can have time to relax, but still close enough to Lafayette to give us plenty of time to visit family. Jared and Robert very helpful and accommodating. Our dog loves the porches too! Thanks

Great place to have a relaxing vacation.

The cottage is in a lovely and quiet neighborhood with two porches to enjoy. There's a great kitchen stocked with everything you need to make a meal . The king bed was very comfortable, the towels in the bath thick and the shower has three heads! The furnishings through out the house are very inviting. I would definitely come back to this property.

Peaceful Retreat

A wonderful stay in an historic home!

We had a comfortable feeling from the start of our visit. It has everything a person needs and with added charm. We love this home and Jared has been so responsive and accommodates our needs as they arise. I haven’t slept this well in a long time (the bed is so comfortable)! We feel at home in this lovely place.

Great place, highly recommend!!

Beautiful home!

Family Getaway

This is a beautiful home, in a quite area, that is minutes from town. We spent lots of time lounging on the spacious back porch. This is absolutely a must stay if you are in the area. Jared was very easy to work with. This is on my list for a do over...

Amazing Place to Stay!

We fell in Love with this place. So much history everywhere you looked. Beautifully decorated and had everything you could possibly need. We loved the peace and quiet of the location. It was close to so many attractions. It was close enough to town if you needed anything, but far enough away for peace and quiet. The property is so beautiful and we loved the porches. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was fantastic. Thank you for allowing us to stay.

Charming cottage feel!

This house is loaded with charm from the minute you walk in. We loved the owners decorating style which is fun and eclectic. There were stained glass windows in the bathroom, rustic wall decor, and the kitchen has a state of the art oven. Jared was very accommodating with a request we had. We would definitely stay in this house again if in the area.

Family Getaway

We loved the house and the location was great! The Castle was a great story teller for sure and the pictures no way touched the history until you arrived to see in person. It was decorated beautifully and enhanced the age of the home. Living in Louisiana you learn to live with the hot and humidity as they go hand in hand but sitting on the back porch there was a nice breeze to enjoy the scenery and didn’t really notice that it was touch warm outside. The Castle is definitely one to visit again!

Great weekend getaway!

The Castle far exceeds our expectations. This was the third time we have stayed at this wonderful home in the past 3 years. The house is immaculate, extremely comfortable, cleverly decorated and contains all the amenities of home (and then some!) The huge back porch overlooking a serene pasture is perfect for entertaining family, cooking out, or kicking back with a good book on the porch swing. There are several great restaurants in the vicinity. Jared is a gracious host, and always just a call away if needed. We can not wait to return! Kathleen and Steve Humble, Texas

enjoyed our stay near lafayette la! We were in the country but less than 10 minutes to downtown lafayette. The home is an incredible remodeled cottage with all amenities provided: WIFI, cable, Wolf range, washer/dryer and a great country - cajun radio station was tuned in upon our arrival.Dishes are washed by hand:) Furnishings are often of vintage or antique style and clever attention has been made for placement of decorative items thru this home. There is a huge back porch deck and also an open fire pit for plenty of people.

Fabulous Property & Homeowner

We've just recently returned from a stay at this charming home! The owner couldn't have been more delightful to work with and his home is decorated just beautifully, and that's very important to me. He's thought of everything and more! You feel as if you're walking into a piece of history, which by the way you are, but stepped into the pages of Architectural Digest. Charming and will certainly return and recommend. We loved Lafayette and will certainly return. Totally ate our way through the town :) Thank you again Jared for everything! Sheryl

I am Jared Richard. I have spent majority of my life in Scott, Louisiana. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree from McNeese State in Lake Charles. I enjoy cooking cajun food, enjoying wine, travel and spending time with family and friends. I am very passionate about the Louisiana & Cajun culture as you will see in The Castle. I am a firm believer in keeping old traditions alive and preserving old homes and buildings. I hope you get the opportunity to stay at The Castle and I always enjoy meeting our guest if time allows.

The home is a perfect twist of historic structure with modern fixings. It's carefully decorated with unique pieces that connect to the Louisiana Cajun culture. It was used for the filming of the GMC Sierra commercial in 2016!
