Check in process

I had to struggle to check in on the first day. I had to make international calls to several people and explain my situation after I got to the residence. I hope those process improves. I wanted to see clearer instructions before I arrive, like how to, where to, who to, etc. I’d received the attention notice and regulations much earlier than arrival date. That was good. I appreciate it. But the check in process should be improved. Luckily I’m English speaker and already got phone access at that time, so that I could communicate and resolved.

Terrific location, troublesome host

This place was ideally located for our month-long stay. Close to bus stops and easily walkable to shops, restaurants, bars in Waikiki and Ala Moana Mall. The view is truly spectacular. The unit itself was not super clean and not well-stocked, so be prepared to do stock up on some basic essentials if you intend to stay for some time. Be warned that the day before you arrive, you may receive a “rental agreement” and the host asking you to confirm receipt of the agreement. The agreement included a line that stated: “Electric Bill will be billed in a separate statement for the actual usage of electricity.” When we asked for clarification, since we were unaware of this additional charge when we booked and paid through Vrbo, the host said he would get back to us but never did. Subsequent follow ups were met by silence. Finally he just sent us an automated request to pay the additional fee through Vrbo. We are communicating with Vrbo as we speak to make sure we do not have to pay this fee. We found our exchange with the host on this matter to be entirely frustrating. Our host was generally rude and unprofessional in his communication, and made our stay less than ideal and enjoyable. We would recommend staying in this location, at Discovery Bay Tower, but cannot recommend staying in this specific unit or using this host.

Oahu vacation

The property appeared clean but upon close inspection: refrigerator handles were sticky. The refrigerator shelves were dirty. The dishes had residual food and we had to wash them before using. There was something sticky on the end table glass in the living room. The couch has not been cleaned, hair, some sand and other particles were visible. The bathroom sink has hair and what looked like shaving hair on the sink. The shower had sand in the shelving and hair and other particles on it. The fam was very dusty and windows were not cleaned. The TV was not working from the first day and it took a week to get it replaced. The Wi-Fi was weak and Ethernet plug in did not work. The condo was in good shape otherwise and enjoyed out stay.

Room was great but that was about it

The room and view was beautiful for the price, but the lack of communication from the property manager was frustrating and unacceptable. He was receptive at first but once I asked if there was a Military or local discount, I was ghosted for the remainder of my stay. I'm military, and was in Hawaii to get married and start our honeymoon. I was just asking simple questions because I was told from others there were discounts for Military. Again unacceptable. The check in process was a hassle, and the door was open when we arrived. How did we know what was/wasn't in the room before we checked in? Very weird. The listing said parking space was included, but I was charged for a parking spot that wasn't being used my whole stay. I recommend the Discovery Bay condos, but unfortunately not this property unless you get better communication with the Manager.

The condo was just perfect for my husband and me. The views are phenomenal, you can walk to the mall, shops, restaurants and beach. We had a fantastic time!

We would never hesitate to stay at this Discovery Bay rental!!! Just trying to figure out when we’ll be back! The location is perfect and the condo view is beautiful!

Great views in spacious one bedroom apartment

The bus stop is just outside the building and the location is between Waikiki and Ala Moana so not a million tourists around but walking distance to beach, shopping, real grocery stores, and more.

Great location, great view

Great convenient location access to shops, mall, marine and restaurants. Unit is located on corner of building with great mountain side and ocean side. Large living room. 26th floor with less noises from busy street. ABC store, McDonald, seven eleven, food pantry near by. Sun from west side hits hard. Need to close the curtains pretty much all day to keep the room cool.

Nice condo with excellent views of the harbor and great location. Just a bit noisy. Tv need to be adjusted to see the whole picture. Also... drains are very slow. Have to pay for parking although previous customers stated it was free??

Awesome Waikiki Condo

This is our 4th year staying at this condo for 3-4 months per year. We love the location with a 10 minute walk to either the mall, beach or grocery stores. . There are many restaurants within walking distance. The condo has a magnificent view of the harbour and ocean, as well as the mountains. On the not so pleasant days it's nice to sit and watch all the activity on the ocean. It has all the amenities required for a 3 month stay and is very clean and secure. It is well maintained. The unit has a safe to lock up all your valuables. The queen bed is very comfortable. David and Kate are wonderful hosts! They immediately resolve any issues you may have. We would highly recommend this property to anyone coming to Waikiki.

Great location & Great views!

We arrived and were Very Impressed with the nicely updated and well equipped condo unit and its wonderful views, the building and all its amenities. We loved it! David was expedient and a delight to deal with when there were a couple of minor issues. We love the location- it's close enough to walk to Ala Moana mall, and also the beach where we like to sit. The pool area is huge and well kept, and as an added bonus, there is a small (aged) fitness center. The barbecue area is lengthy and the barbecues could use updating with thermometers, signage to get people to clean up after themselves and better lighting would be beneficial. All in all, we had a great experience at David's condo!

nice view, comfortable stay, convenient.

The condo is very comfortable and spacious with a beautiful view of a marina. It is clean but not spotless. Some deep cleaning for the bathtub is needed. It is very conveniently located, with walking distance to the famous Waikiki beach ( about 20-25 min.) and to the Ala Moana shopping center (15 min.) It is our first use of the vrbo and I do recommend it.

My choice was excellent.

Me and my son were here one months from June to July. Until the day we checked out from before the check-in was smooth with no problems. The condo was very clean facilities also were perfect and the location of the condo is the best. We will miss this place. My choice was excellent.

Just like the pictures with all the amenities!

We have been coming to Hawaii for over 35 years and have never been more satisfied than with our stay at this condo in Discovery Bay. After a month or so most condos in the Wiakiki area get very cramped. Not this one! It is large enough and so well equipped a couple could move in and live in it permanently. We were there for 6 weeks and could have easily stayed for 6 months! The view is panoramic, allowing an almost simultaneous view of the ocean, pool, harbour and mountains. The pictures that are featured on VRBO are accurate - that's exactly what you can expect! The apartment has everything, from a top of the line vacumn and an umbrella to a complete set of dishes, cutlery and glasses (including stemless wine glasses and travel mugs). The capper is the bed with a most comfortable Queen size "Temperpedic style" mattress. Finally, I must add that the owner is terrific to deal with, made the entire process easy, seamless, extremely friendly and professional. We had no issues but did contact him with some questions. His responses were immediate. I have no hesitation in recommending this property or its owner to anyone!

Discovery Bay Has It All

The condo we rented at Discovery Bay ( Resolution Tower ) had a very impressive panoramic view of the ocean, marina and even a part of the mountain view. This is the most obvious feature when you first walk into the unit, but shortly thereafter, you begin to realize how much this unit has to offer. Central AC, fully equipped kitchen, in suite laundry, parking included, strong wi-fi, bb-q area, pool, hot tub and even a big screen TV. The Bus stops directly infront of the building going in both directions. It's proximity to the Ala Moana Shopping Center, The Chinese Market and Walmart are nice as well. This unit has recently been renovated and the owner, through email, will very quickly address any issues that may arise. Local grocery store, restaurants, and the beach,... it's all here. Our month here went quickly and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Superb Views of Direct Ocean & Marina

I stayed in this condo for my business trip and enjoyed a lot with very nice views and amenities including big flat screen HDMI TV, fully equipped kitchen utensils and almost everything I have in my own home. Specially assigned parking with free of charge helped me very much when I was busy in and out the building. This condo is in great location in Waikiki that is close to Ala Moana Center and restaurants. Highly recommend this condo for business travelers and couples seeking for pleasure.

Stayed for approximately 10 weeks on business trip. Open communication with owner and local manager which gave great confidence and service. Excellent location on bus line, walking to shopping, restaurants, car rental in building, and Waikiki. Wonderful ocean view. The apartment is clean, modern, very comfortable and well equipped. No reason to hesitate renting. Great for single or couple.

Waikiki stay

This is a great unit with fantastic views. Wonderful location and access to everything. Unfortunately this was not a vacation for my husband and I so it wasn't like all our other trips to Oahu. However, I can't say enough about the graciousness of the owner David. He was understanding of our situation (medical) and was helpful in accomodating us. The unit itself is clean and modern and the bonus is that it came with parking which was important to our situation and is a big deal in the Waikiki area if one needs a car as there isn't any overnight parking in most complexes.
