The charming towns of Ascona and Locarno are within easy reach and offer family-friendly beach resorts, playgrounds, gelaterias, and beautiful lakeside promenades. A special experience is the large weekly market in Luino, Italy (every Wednesday), which you can easily reach in about 30 minutes by car or train—a colorful destination for the whole family.

Day trips to Como or Milan are also easily possible. During the summer months, you can also explore the lake by boat directly from Gerra—a highlight for children and adults alike.
