Pros: great location, on-site laundry. owner was responsive except for when we were trying to check in and the key was not where we had been told it would be.Cons: on check in, key was not where it was supposed to be. multiple attempts to contact host were unanswered. We received an answer 2 hours later.The carpet needs to be replaced. Carpeted floors make no sense in a place like this with a climate like this. It's not sanitary.There was only one working space heater in the whole place. We never did get the house as warm as we would have liked it. It appears there is no A/C either, so I wouldn't recommend it in the summer.The furniture and everything in the house looks like grandma's leftovers. It wouldn't take a lot of money to make it look a little more modern.Beds were uncomfortable - saggy mattresses, etc. One of the pillows provided had a blood stain on it.There was no soap/etc provided in the bathroom. We did discover a drawer full of half-used bars of soap - gross.The house smelled like mildew and drove my allergies crazy. I think getting rid of the carpet would probably cure that. The damp climate means it never fully dries off in there, at least at the time of year we visited.This place could be great, and it wouldn't cost that much money. Replace the floor with some laminate plank, paint the walls (white to brighten it up), install a mini-split heat-pump for AC and heat, and replace the furniture. It sounds like a lot but only the AC unit is .
