Una elegante villa con piscina privada y sorprendentes vistas al mar

Situada en una colina, en un barrio residencial arriba de la Ciudad Vieja de Kalkan. Ubicación sorprendente con las montañas Taurus de trasfondo y vistas espectaculares de Kalkan y las Bahías Kalamar pero cerca del pueblo, el puerto y la playa. Habitaciones: claras y amplias, bellamente equipadas con pisos de mármol y aire acondicionado y calefacción. Salón principal: de plano abierto, fogata así como un comedor abovedado con una mesa para 10 comensales. 4 habitaciones dobles (2 pueden ser con camas gemelas): con baño adjunto, han sido individualmente diseñadas con esmero. En el jardín hay un anexo independiente en el cual hay 2 camarotes (ideales para adolescentes) o una pequeña familia. La moderna cocina está bien equipada con lavaplatos y un amplio refrigerador con congelador. Afuera se encuentra la piscina privada con sillas de playas y un área cubierta para cenas o barbacoas al exterior. Hay varias terrazas incluyendo 2 terrazas en la azotea. Acceso WiFi en toda la villa.

Jardines, etc.: Piscina privada rodeada de mármol travertino con sillas de playas de madera y parasoles. Comedor exterior con cómoda mesa oval y 14 sillas para cenar al fresco. Barbacoa. Junto al salón principal hay otra área de estar con mesa y sillas. Hay un sofá y sillas en el exterior de la suite Jardín. Subiendo por unas gradas, se accede a un jardín en terraza con un área de estar sombreado con cómodos sofás reclinables para admirar la espectacular vista al Mediterráneo y el trasfondo de montañas. Es el lugar perfecto para relajarse y despreocuparse.

La terraza en la azotea tiene una cómoda área de sentar con sillas estilo Otomán para apreciar la espectacular vista o mirar las estrellas de noche. Durante el día, su pérgola ofrece protección del sol.

Viaje: El aeropuerto más cercano es Dalaman, el cual se encuentra a una hora y media de distancia. Dalaman se encuentra abierta todo el año y recibe varios vuelos provenientes del Reino Unido, incluyendo vuelos directos con Easyjet desde Gatwick y Manchester. El aeropuerto de Anatyla está entre dos horas y media y tres horas de distancia. Con cierta antelación, podemos organizar los traslados desde el aeropuerto mediante taxi o minibús privado a precios razonables. 5 minutos en taxi (o 20 minutos a pie) desde el centro de Kalkan y el puerto. Kas está a 27 km.

A lovely 5 bedroomed air conditioned villa overlooking Kalkan bay. Great pool, BBQ and relaxation areas around the pool and the roof terrace. 2 Families were accommodated easily. Its situated on a very steep hill, so make sure you have grippy shoes!

Glad you enjoyed your holiday. Kalkan is set on hills but our villa is accessible without the need to walk up or down any hills. We have had guests with wheelchairs stay in our villa before as there is parking in the drive and step free access to the villa and gardens. Hope we can welcome you back again one day!

Wonderful views

Great villa for the whole family - 4 adult couples. Pool size perfect for swimming and games. The views were wonderful from all balconies and seating areas. Very high up overlooking Kalkan (our 12th year in the town) and benefited from sunshine from morning through to night. Very steep access road outside which for us was not a problem.

One of the best villas we have ever stayed in such spectacular views - few issues with air con and water but the team tried to fix them as quickly as they could and some were beyond their control due to the heatwave - we all loved our holiday , grandpa , parents and kids alike !

Villa Vanilla is a really lovely place to stay. It's roomy, well laid out and is clearly loved by the owners who generously share a lot of their own home comforts. This includes a very well equipped kitchen with everything you could need and - a real rarity in holiday lets - sharp knives! There are also DVDs, books, games, Turkish towels for the pool and lots of spices and store cupboard bits that just make cooking easier. I hope we left enough to participate in this exchange! The rooms are lovely and there are terraces and outside spaces galore plus beautiful plants and fruit trees to make it feel a special and peaceful place to be in, despite there being other properties nearby. The hill adds excitement - and calf strength! We failed to get our car up to the house (needed something with a bit more oomph) but the walk, although very steep, is short and just means you're extra grateful to get to the front door. The payoff is that the views are wonderful and the pool is also there to help you cool back down!Kalkan itself offers a great deal to do and see. Our favourite day was a private hire boat trip which was very good value - everything else feels pricier than the rest of Turkey (but I could be out of date as it's a few years since I've been).I would definitely recommend this lovely villa - we had a very restful and enjoyable time there with our extended family.

Mobility

if you have any mobility issues this villa might not work for you. To access the villa you have to walk up a very steep road as it’s almost impossible to park your car in the villa car parking space (we had to leave our cars at the bottom ) therefore you have to walk down the very steep road to get your car (make sure you have suitable footwear ) I don’t like to be negative but this would have been a big problem for my husband last year after knee surgery The villa is beautiful and very well equipped and we had a lovely stay

I am sorry that you weren’t able to park your car in our drive as this would have made it easier for direct access into the villa and garden. Taxis or cars can park outside the gate to collect and drop off without any need to walk up or down any hills. I had a knee replacement a few years ago and went out to convalesce at the villa without any issues. I hope we can welcome you back one day.

Our family of six stayed for two weeks in this delightful villa. The pool was the perfect size for all of us and was well used throughout the day and into the late evening. The villa was clean and the beds were so comfortable. The size of the villa and its various patios meant that we had plenty of space for us all. We had a problem with the fridge freezer when we first arrived, but a new one was purchased and fitted within a couple of days. One of the bathrooms had mosaic tiles missing and a leaking toilet but there was a spare room so that the guests could stay in there. The road to the villa is extremely steep. It was fine for us, but if you had mobility issues it would be a problem. The staff that looked after the villa were fantastic. We had bread delivered every day and bottled water at our request. We also used the recommended taxi service from the airport and back again, which was punctual and extremely efficient. We are missing the Villa like mad and would definately come again

I am so pleased you enjoyed your holiday at our family villa. We miss it too whenever we are away! Kalkan is set on hills which is why we have such amazing views over the Mediterranean Sea. There is no need to walk up any hills to access the villa. If you have a car it can be parked in the drive with flat access to the villa and gardens. Taxis will drop you and pick you up right outside the gate. Taxis are very good value in Kalkan and usually arrive is less than 5 mins after sending a WhatsApp message. We would love to welcome you back again for another holiday in this very special place.

Amazing views

We spent beautiful days at Villa Vanilla. The views from the property are stunning! Sue, the owner and Elena, the manageress, were very helpful through the rental process and afterwards, our stay. The villa is very comfortable and very well equipped. The ladies that are in charge of the cleaning are fantastic and so is the pool guy who came early morning to clean the outdoors and make ready the sun beds and open parasols and again in the evening to close them. 5 ⭐️ hotel service! Having said that, I believe that the property could benefit from a little maintenance. Nothing major, but things like re cushioning the dining chairs and getting new bins for the bathrooms, will be good. Also, it would be a good idea to get a generator. Unfortunately there were full day power cuts on the last days of our stay and was told that they happen every now and then, so a generator will be of great help to cover on these occasions. It was our first time in Kalkan and we didn’t know that it’d be so hilly. Sometimes it proved to be a little bit of a challenge to climb the short distance between the parking and the house, as we usually did this after a long day out or dinner at one of the many great restaurant in the Old Town. To park in the house is a bit tricky and although we’d three cars in different sizes, none was suitable. I wouldn’t recommend even attempting it. Eventually we got use to the climbing and long forgotten leg muscles, became alive! 😂 We’re back with happy memories! 🌈

I am pleased you enjoyed your stay at our villa. It is a special place and is our family holiday home so we like to look after it and make it a real home away from home. The villa is on a hill but I have never walked down it! You can drive a car to park straight into the drive or taxis pick you up right outside the gate. Unfortunately Kalkan does suffer with some electricity cuts in peak season. They are rare however and we do have a back up generator.

I booked Villa Vanilla to celebrate my 60th birthday with close friends. The Villa is stunning with everything you need at hand. Great information and pre holiday updates and responses from Sue were prompt and extremely re assuring. The views are spectacular and the rooms tastefully decorated . We loved every minute. The pool is lovely and the gardens well tended by Sedat there are so many private areas even a group of 9 could enjoy their own peace and quiet if wanted. Unforgettable

We had a great time with the whole family and our 5 kids. The view is just unforgettable. The Pool area is loevly and generous. The kids loved the house. It is very clean. You find many sweet corners in the house to chill. The agency who was taking care of the house was always helping out. It is just bit challenging with driving up with the car, but we got used it. Wonderful stay with a perfect scenery

This house is the perfect place for family trips. It has so many detailed and thoroughly thought rooms with lots of amenities. It is a lovely place to have a family gathering and to see many amazing places of Kalkan and nearby Kaş. The villa has a breathtaking view and a good pool. The entrance is a little steep, but you can park the car at the beginning of the street. Overall, wonderful stay in Kalkan with a delightful and charming view. Totally recommended. Hope to stay next year also.

Stunning views, wonderful pool

We have just returned from a wonderful week in Villa Vanilla. Everything was very well organised by the owner. Our transfer, access to the villa, and we were always treated with charm and kindness by everyone we came in to contact with connected to the villa. The views are stunning ,the villa is as it appears in the photos ,really well presented and overall a lovely holiday. We hope to return next year.

Fabulous Villa with stunning views

The villa, garden area and pool area all exceeded expectations. Stunning views over Kalkan and the Mediterranean beyond were enjoyed form the outside areas and from the roof top areas. Extremely relaxing just spending time at the villa during the hot daytime hours, not a drop of rain all fortnight. Kalkan is a lively place with many restaurants bars and shops to enjoy all at reasonable prices. We particularly enjoyed the boat trips from Kalkan harbor and the beach clubs close by. Water sports were fantastic. Amazing holiday enjoyed by all of us including our four teenagers, we will return to Villa Vanilla for sure.

Relaxing holiday in beautiful Villa Vanilla

The view from Villa Vanilla over Kalkan harbour takes some beating. Kalkan is a very beautiful resort. We were happy to discover that the villa is very well equipped/decorated/furnished with spacious airy rooms. The pool area had very good sun loungers and parasols. It was kept spotless by the very pleasant pool maintenance man who visited daily.The villa is surrounded by an abundance of beautiful flowers, plants and trees.There are many places to sit (shady or sunny) and enjoy the view. The outdoor shady dining area is perfect for long lunches. We spent our time either relaxing by the pool or exploring the lovely local beaches, markets and ancient ruins. Saklikent Gorge is worth a visit as is the Sunken City at Kekova. Boat trips from Kalkan harbour are a perfect way to explore and swim in the local bays. There is plenty of information in the villa folders on sightseeing and restaurants. I would recommend hiring a car to get around (there are many very steep roads in Kalkan ). Sue arranged our transfers which went very smoothly. The property manager kindly did some food shopping for our late arrival just to tide us over until we got to the supermarket the next day. Thank you very much Sue for a lovely stay. I'm sure we'll visit again.

Hier möchte man bleiben

Die Villa ist das mittlere von drei im selben Stil gebauten Häusern, die sich auf einem Hügel oberhalb von Kalkan befinden. Durch die erhöhte Lage hat man einen einen fantastischen Blick auf die Bucht und die Stadt, vor allem von der Dachterrasse. Das Haus selbst bietet auf zwei Wohnebenen ausreichend Platz für 8 Personen (4 Schlafzimmer) und ist sehr geschmackvoll und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Wenn es in der Küche noch eine Mikrowelle u. eine Kaffeemaschine gäbe, wäre die Perfektion vollkommen. Zentraler Punkt im Aussenbereich ist natürlich der Pool, der durch seine Größe u. Form für Langstreckenschwimmer eher ungeeignet ist. Zur Abkühlung ist er aber völlig ausreichend u. für Kinder ideal. Die Reinigung ist übrigens vorbildlich (täglich). Wer absolute Privatsphäre sucht, könnte aber möglicherweise entäuscht werden. Da die Villen in sehr geringem Abstand zueinander stehen, kann man problemlos dem Nachbar beim Sonnenbaden zusehen u. umgekehrt. Wem das aber nicht stört, der ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Ein Fahrzeug würde ich auf jeden Fall anraten. Da die Strasse zum Haus teilweise extrem steil ist, könnte ein Fußmarsch, vor allem bei sommerlicher Hitze, ziemlich beschwerlich werden. Fazit: eine wunderschöne Villa in traumhafter Lage. Wenn man nicht auf absolute Ruhe u. Privatsphäre Wert legt, dann kann man dieses Objekt uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

An idyllic week

Our party consisted of four couples - the two of us and the rest twenty somethings - daughters and partners/friends. We all loved our stay and even a week here left us feel completely unwound. The accomodation remains at a very high standard , well equipped and tastefully furnished with the lay out outside in particular providing several nooks and crannies to allow for being together or taking a bit of QT on the roof terrace or garden seating area.Usefully given the temperature bordering on 100 degrees, there were many shaded areas as well as the pool of course. That and the garden generally were maintained twice daily by the friendly yet unobtrusive gardener who could always summon fresh supplies for the water dispenser. Remarkably , we didnt see a single fly, wasp or mosquito all week - only the atmospheric ciccadas and a friendly tortoise who made a daily appearance from somewhere. The views were splendid at all times of day. Kalkan is a lovely town with an abundance of good restuarants and shops ( fishmonger and fake bags come to mind ) with enough bars to satisfy the younger element. The old part is very attractive as is the harbour where various boat trips and diving opportunities can be found.Even the Imam calling to prayer from the mosque sounded genuine and not recorded. You do need a car on balance unless you ' re simply going to remain very local and you don't want to walk back up to the villa especially in the heat but taxis are cheap and plentiful. The two local beaches are definately worth a visit as is Kas c 30 mins drive away - again an old town with several rug and linen shops. We would definately return.

Something for everyone

We swapped the grey skies of Britain for sunny Kalkan in late October 2008 and had the most wonderful holiday in this beautiful place. Not only is the Villa Vanilla decorated, equipped and maintained to a very high standard, the kitchen is a chef’s delight. Having woken to blue skies and that fabulous view, a walk down the hill to the local market revealed a huge choice of fresh, local produce. The teenagers in our party explored the cobbled streets whilst I stretched out on a sun lounger keeping half an eye on the two younger children who played for hours in the pool. The two keen walkers planned their route along the Lycian way. The owners provided plenty of useful ( and accurate) information about airport transfers, local restaurants and places to visit. A small fish restaurant tucked away in the hills above Kalkan was a particularly satisfying recommendation. The friendliness of the local people and the high quality of service at a reasonable price was a real bonus. It’s rare to find a house as lovely as this, in such a perfect position with excellent restaurants, beaches, ancient ruins and inspiring walks within a short drive. We all had a great time and will definitely book this villa again.

There really is such a wide variety of activities in this area from exploring ancient ruins,walking the Lycian Way, to deep sea diving, canoing or simply lying on the unpsoilt beaches in this beautiful region. It's also popular with teenagers with safe night life and children have the beach clubs which offer hours of entertainment. Finally those wonderful restaurants are not to be missed!

Great house, great view, great for kids

We rented the villa in July 2008. The house and the view were even better in real life than on the internet images. We were two families with 3 children under 4 yo; the house and the pool aerea worked so perfect for us all that we stayed by the pool most of the week, taking turns on looking after the kids. We certainly recommend the villa for young families even though it sounds not very child-friendly with a house up in the hills. You use the car all the time anyway, it is impossible to get around without it. The two beaches in the area could be reached by the car, the town beach was ok but not optimal for small children, but the other one, about 15 min drive, was beautiful and not crowded. The service was great, starting with my first contact with the villa owner and further when we met the property manager who met all our needs including fresh bread for breakfast each morning. It might be hard for us finding something this priceworthy anywhere else next season!

The villa is perfect for all age groups including young families and also adult parties. It has also been a wonderful setting for wedding and honeymoon! Some guests do not hire a car and walk into Kalkan and use the good bus services and cheap taxis to go further afield. The beaches are stunning and some of the most unspoilt and beautiful in the Med - voted in top 10 by Sunday Times.

Villa Vanilla is a very special place for us as a family - we fell in love with Turkey, the wonderful friendly people in Kalkan and the spectacular views over the Mediterranean.
Our villa was designed and built for us to provide a very comfortable home from home which we love to share with other people. Our villa is set in large gardens with olive, lemon and orange trees and benefits from cooling breezes from the hills above. It is away from the bustle of the old town and benefits from stunning views over the Mediterranean and islands off the coast. It is very quiet and undisturbed but with easy access into the town with all its superb restaurants.

It has been designed to provide a luxurious standard of comfort - marble floors throughout with simple and stylish furniture. The kitchen is very well equipped with a large American style fridge and a range of equipment for cooking the fresh organic produce from the local market,

We fell in love with so many aspects of Kalkan and decided to build our own mediterranean home. Just a few highlights that made us choose Villa Vanilla : the unobscured views over the bay of Kalkan, the wonderful warm, welcoming local people who have become our friends (we have been to 2 local weddings), the unspoilt coastline and beaches (Patara is 10 mins and 18 kms of sand with one rustic cafe) and my favourite Kapatus beach (5 mins) has clear tourquoise sea and the best beach in the world (and I have travelled to all continents apart from Antarctica!!).

Stunning unobscured views over the bay of Kalkan and up to the Taurus mountains. Our villa is very quiet as is set in one of largest gardens in Kalkan with an olive grove to one side of the property.

Simple luxury stylish design of decor, finest quality egyptian cotton bedding and towels.

A back up generator should the power fail (few villas in Kalkan have their own generators) .


Beautiful pool with views over the Med set in a large Mediterranean garden.

Life does not get much better than spending time in Villa Vanilla as our guests will tell you!!
