Un lugar perfecto para la playa y restaurantes en Woods Hole

Una casa perfecta y la ubicación perfecta para sus vacaciones. Alrededor del bloque (2 minutos a pie) es Stoney Beach, la playa principal de Woods Hole. A 4 minutos a pie te lleva a Gran Puerto y el Club Náutico de Woods Hole. Y un paseo de 5 minutos te lleva a la calle del Agua, con restaurantes, bares, café, y la línea de salida Race Falmouth carretera. El Martha's Vineyard Ferry y Peter Pan / Bonanza Bus está a 8 minutos a pie. La casa está en una bonita calle tranquila y arbolada.

La planta baja de la casa tiene un gran plan de piso abierto (sala de estar, sala de sol / comedor y cocina) con mucha luz. La cocina ha sido recientemente renovada (2016) y está completamente equipada con electrodomésticos nuevos. La parte posterior de la casa se abre a una terraza con barbacoa, jardín y patio, que son zonas tranquilas para comer o sentarse y leer. Arriba, hay tres dormitorios: uno con dos camas individuales, una con una cama queen y la principal con una cama queen. El dormitorio principal tiene puertas correderas a una terraza y escaleras al patio trasero. Una habitación adicional en el segundo piso tiene un sofá cama futón doble, sin embargo, se llega al dormitorio principal a través de esta habitación. Hay dos baños completos en el piso de arriba; uno con bañera pero sin ducha y el otro solo con ducha. Hay un baño recientemente renovado con una gran ducha en la planta baja. También hay una ducha al aire libre, accesible desde el baño de la planta baja. La casa tiene pisos de madera en todo. Hay conexión inalámbrica a Internet, pero no hay televisión. The property is perfectly situated between the heart of Woods Hole village, great walking paths, and a lovely beach. The house is beautifully decorated and maintained- and it feels like a real treat to stay there. In addition, the hosts were incredibly thorough in preparing notes to assist with the stay, including small notes throughout the house to guide the guest toward what they need (e.g., finding a switch to turn on the water to the washer, directions for how to lock the garage) that made it very easy to feel comfortable and secure. The hosts also made themselves available, even while traveling, and quickly responded to our questions and needs. I could not recommend this property or its hosts more highly.

This house would be OK in the cool season but was nearly uninhabitable when the weather was warm.

The house was generally fine except for the major discomfort described below. The neighborhood is pleasant and the location is good, as it is a short walk to the MV ferry, several restaurants, and the fascinating marine research activities centered in Woods Hole. One could have a pleasant stay during cooler weather. However when the weather is hot, as it was during the week we rented, it is in my opinion close to uninhabitable. The bedrooms are all on the upper level (see listing photos - there are three plus there is a walk-through alcove on the way to another bedroom). They have little ventilation; there is a single inadequate window AC unit in one bedroom; and only some very low-end fans were provided. As a result, the bedroom temperatures were much hotter than the outside temperatures. Opening all the windows, and doing our best to re-position the fans in every conceivable way for best effect, brought our group little relief. Temperatures were in the mid-high 80's during our stay in early August; the bedrooms were in the high 80's and into the 90's at times, and very stuffy as well. The sole AC unit was small and quite inadequate. The one bedroom with the AC did cool down (leaving the loud window unit on at all times) but the other bedrooms were too uncomfortable for our family of five adults, as several were unable to sleep for the first several days. Instead of staying for the week as planned, several of our group decided to leave; one went home early to NYC and another left to stay with relatives elsewhere on the Cape). The owner was communicative before and during our stay, but did not offer to make any adjustments to the rent for the inconvenience, or to provide or reimburse better fans or ventilation, but simply said she would consider our suggestions in the future. In short I would have given the house a good score if we had stayed there during a cool period such as April/May or October, but I cannot give it a good score based on our experience in August. I understand and I am sympathetic to owners for trying to cover their costs through means such as VRBO; I own several vacation houses up and down the East Coast that I occasionally rent out to guests, but I have great effort to ensure each guest is very comfortable and receives good value. In this case the house did not serve our purposes and we regretted not have chosen another property. I sincerely hope the owner invests a bit to address the issues and has success in the future.

Another Terrific Stay in Woods Hole

Enjoyed two visits to this Woods Hole property in 2018 - Memorial Day weekend and third week of August. Such a great rental! A block from Stony Beach and two minutes to WH d'town. Lots of room for our family of four and puppy. Even had friends come from MV for an overnight stay. Kitchen is fully equipped for dinners in. Back patio is a dream. New bathroom is terrific. The owner, Karen, is such a pleasure to deal with. Oh yes - and there is a "secret" dog beach just up the street. Could not ask for anything more. We will be back certainly!

Perfect Woods Hole Home

We really enjoyed our stay in Woods Hole. The home is close to the beach and and easy walk to downtown WH. It’s nicely furnished and equipped with everything you need! The home owners were friendly and responsive and we hope to return again for another visit!

Perfect property in ideal location

An amazing 9 days in Woods Hole made all the better by Karen and her wonderful home. The modern house had everything we needed and the location couldn't be any better. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Nicest house we've rented in over 15 years of coming to Woods Hole.

Great house in a perfect location!

We loved everything about our stay. Woods Hole is a real gem with marinas, beaches, family friendly research institutions (kids and adults learn while having fun), great restaurants. Everything is walking distance. The house was great with tastefully but practically furnished spaces. Open space living area opening onto the lovely wooden deck and garden was just amazing. A hot outdoor shower was a daily treat after the beach. The owners were helpful and responsive, with the instruction book full of useful information. Two items we would recommend include a crib (our kid was fine with a futon but it's just easier to be in another part of the house knowing your kid is safe, plus they are used to it). The owners were clear one was not available so this is just a recommendation to make the house even more family friendly. The other is that it would be great to have bikes available. We had a few rainy days and had to drive to Falmouth (another lovely place with some really good restaurants). Bike stores will be closed outside of the season and Woods Hole does not have bike rentals. Driving by the ocean and on local bike paths is fantastic! We know we will be back and would love to stay in this amazing house.

We started coming to Woods Hole as summer scientists back in 2004. Our whole family loved Woods Hole and after many summers here, we were lucky to purchase this house in 2011. We spend as much time as we can here but when we can't be here, we are happy to share our home and our love of the Woods Hole area with visitors.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We think our house has the perfect Woods Hole location; half way between the village center and Stoney Beach. The village offers restaurants (try the popovers at Pie in the Sky or dinner at Water Street Kitchen), coffee shops, world renowned science labs (MBL and WHOI), the Martha's Vineyard Ferry and the start of the Shining Sea Bike Path. Stoney Beach on Buzzards Bay is the "town" beach. With its typically calmer waters, you can choose to build sand castles or swim for miles. Our back garden with lawn and deck is a lovely place to relax with your morning coffee or enjoy dinner with friends or playing with your children.
