Secluded paradise

This was our 6 trip to the island and first time at this beautiful secluded quiet comfortable place.You can literally spend the whole time just sitting outside at the porch looking and listening to the surroundings. We will definitely be back. Would like to mention that this place is wonderful for 2 people but definitely not for kids.

We loved our stay at Kas Mai. The grounds are lovely (tons of birds!), the kitchen well stocked, tons of natural light, very comfortable, everything you need.

A perfect condo on bonaire

My wife and I went to Bonaire for two weeks. We cant say enough about Marji and her great place. We had a blast and will certainly rent from her again when we return. Thanks again..

Lovely hideaway in Bonaire

Kas Mai is a lovely, tranquil hideaway in Bonaire. It's up the hill, about 10 min drive from the centre of town, tucked away in a small cluster of houses. While you need to drive to the beach, the cottage is set in a beautiful garden, quiet setting, very private. Well equiped, charming little place for a quiet wet away. Restaurants, groceries and oh yes the ocean is very near by. Natalie the property manager is friendly and helpful and just next door. Note that this in a wooden area, so bring mosquito repellent/coils to ensure you can enjoy dinner in the garden or an evening beverage on the fabulous back deck. There is a mosquito net in MBR but we did not need it. Recommend sandals or flip flops for the rocky landscaping, and you will want water shoes for all beaches. We are already planning our return!

Fine but...

First, I want to say how lovely and responsive Margreet (owner) was. And the house was fine but it just didn't work that well for us for 2 main reasons: 1. we read at night and the lighting was so dim it was impossible in both the LR and BR. Derek,from the manager's office at Caribbean Lofts, came at our request and replaced all of the bulbs with brighter ones (wall sconces and 1 overhead light only.) That helped a lot. Also, ceiling fans would be SUCH an improvement. It was hot and the plastic floor fans had cords/limits and were loud. BR is on a lower level through a dark hall and into a room with one window looking out underneath the porch; bathroom was on main level. Not a huge deal but kind of a bummer.Also, please put a welcome/info book together for how to work appliances (dishwasher was a mystery; tv had multiple remotes; checkout instructions for trash, where to leave key, etc.)Nice wood floors, well appointed kitchen. No table ; minimal furnishings overall.Other people noted friendly neighbors but not our experience; we wondered if they didn't care for having travelers so close? Polite but clear in the body language. The outdoor shower was very nice after a day in the ocean. Bed was comfortable.Beware if you have small kids or anyone with mobility issues-the porch (which you have to enter from) is about 5' off the gravel with no railing. Steps are oddly high and uneven in their heights. I don't want to be unkind-the house is fine, just not great.

Wunderschön

Wir haben uns sehr wohl in dem wunderschönen Haus mit dem tollen großen Garten gefühlt. Tolle Lage, viel Privatsphäre. Restaurants und Supermärkte sind in 10 - 15 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar. Sehr ansprechende Einrichtung. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder. Wir sind sehr freundlich empfangen worden.

Fantastisch verblijf

Heerlijk huisje, schoon, ruim, sfeervol, mooie grote tuin, goed bed en meer dan volledig ingerichte keuken. Het huisje staat in een rustige omgeving aan de rand van een natuurgebied vol leven. Natalie de buurvrouw heeft ons opgehaald bij het vliegveld en heeft gezorgd voor de eerste levensbehoeften. Een prima gastvrouw, erg attent. Kortom we hebben hier twee schitterende twee weken mogen verblijven. Fantastisch, Mach Danki Eddie & Heidi

Een absolute aanrader

Kas Mai is een heerlijk huis en van alle gemakken voorzien. De inrichting is heel warm waardoor je je snel thuis voelt. De keuken is zeer compleet. Veel verschillende pannen en keukengerei. Met de fantastische Amerikaanse koelkast hadden we op elk moment crushed ijs! De tuin en het terras waren sfeervol ingericht en boden een prachtig vrij uitzicht. Margreet reageerde snel, adequaat en behulpzaam op onze berichtjes. Kortom een absolute aanrader!

Fantastic homely place in a quiet location yet close to all the action!

My wife and I spend 8 nights at Kas Mai and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It started with great communication with Margreet who shared valuable tips like car rental and directions weeks before our stay. Then there was Nathalie, the neighbor of Kas Mai who manages the property and who is very kind, helpful and resourceful. Great tips on where to eat best or buy the best pastries and bread (the real Dutch Bakery, just a few streets away). The house itself is very homely and has everything you'll need. Great bed and comfortable bedroom with AC, great kitchen and nice outside breakfast and seating areas. Also excellent showers, one outside and one in the bathroom. In summary: great value for the money and we'll come back!

Fantastisch huis op sfeervolle rustige locatie

Het huis is zeer smaakvol ingericht en ligt direct aan natuurgebied Heerlijk in de ochtend en avond op veranda, koele wind, uitkijkend op natuur met de groene papagaaien op de cactus. Alle luxe in het huis aanwezig met fijne keuken en heel veel privacy en veilig. Het maakte ons verblijf op het prachtige bonaire helemaal compleet.

lovely house and a great location

We had a great time at Kas Mai, it was perfect for the two of us! The kitchen had everything we needed, there was excellent wifi, and the beds were comfortable. Nathalie made sure there were some supplies in the fridge when we arrived, which was lovely. We also liked the location: Kas Mai is located in a small settlement away from the road. There are houses nearby but the house is on the edge and orientated towards the wilderness so you have a lot of privacy without being isolated, and you can admire all the wildlife and birds around the house. In short, highly recommended and we would love to come back again!

Einfach perfekt und super

Wir waren 17 Tage in Kas Mai.Das Haus war für uns perfekt, ruhig und mitten in der tollen Natur von Kunuku gelegen.Im Haus wurde an alle Details und Kleinigkeiten gedacht ( speziell auch für Taucher ).Einfach traumhaft! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Wat een fantastisch plekje!

Wat een heerlijk, rustig huisje met echt alles erop en eraan. Je zit heerlijk op de wind met een mooi uitzicht op de knoek. Mark & Margreet bedankt dat wij van jullie heerlijke huisje hebben mogen genieten en alle lieve antwoorden vooraf. Ook een dank aan Nathalie zij staat met alles voor je klaar en geeft je daarnaast nog leuke tips over het eiland. Kortom een fantastisch plekje op een heerlijk eiland!

Great location but need screens - would not stay again

It was hard to honestly review this home, on the one hand, it is a really great location, very quiet with lots of birds, lizards and donkeys. On the other hand it is actually a one bedroom (not two as listed) with a bunk bed in the area outside of the bedroom. In reality this would not be an issue except that there in no glass and no screens in the windows and patio doors on the main floor so there are lots of mosquitos that come in at night. In the bedroom there is air conditioning and mosquito netting on the bed so not too much of an issue. But in for the bunk bed there is no air and no netting so my daughter was bitten all night every night. This is a good place for a couple but not if you need two beds. On the plus side when we arrived there was beer, wine and eggs in the fridge and the kitchen is well stocked with spices etc. so great hosts just need screens. I rated it as 3 stars because of the location, but we would not stay again due to the sleeping arrangements and mosquitos.

ein rundum erholsamer Urlaub

Wir haben uns in dem schönen Häuschen sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist gut ausgestattet und inmitten der schönen Natur gelegen. Vor Anreise gab es bereits viele nützliche Tipps von Mark, so dass auch die Anreise reibungslos verlief. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Wonderful, comfortable house in beautiful quiet location.

We stayed at Kas Mai for 3 weeks in January/February 2018 and will definitely be going back. Prior to our stay communication from Mark was excellent with lots of information. On arrival, we were met by Nathalie who lives next door and during our stay Nathalie was always on hand if needed and very friendly and helpful. A lovely touch was the fridge stocked with essentials and we could enjoy a glass of wine on the veranda after a long days travel! The private location is peaceful and beautiful but only a few minutes from town. The house is spacious, comfortable and well equipped and really felt like a home from home for us. Highly recommended!

RELAXED HOLIDAY

It was our first visit to Bonaire and we loved it! The house is lovely and in great condition. Kas Mai is located at a tranquil and endearing place. Nevertheless, the city, the beach and national park are very close. The house is well equipped and everything is very well maintained, be it in the kitchen, towels or sheets, etc. The reception by Nathalie is very cordial and she is always approachable and helpful. Mark and Margreet provided us with many tips and information in preparation of our vacation. We found a great address to buy fresh fish and cooked a lot ourselves, but there was also delicious food when dining out. It was a wonderful stay in Kas Mai ! Mona und Andreas

Nette kleine Fewo!

Für ein Pärchen oder eine Familie mit max. 2 kleinen Kindern super geeignet. Gut ausgestattete Küche mit großem Kühlschrank inklusive frischem kalten Wasser + Eiswürfeln. Viele Eidechsen und immer mal wieder Leguane zu Besuch! Sehr erholsam 😍

leuke rustige en sfeervolle lokatie

Met twee personen zijn we twee weken in Kas mai geweest. De beheerder was zeer attent en behulpzaam. De keuken is van alle gemakken voorzien en in de tuin en op de veranda is het heerlijk toeven. De eigenaar heeft het huisje sfeervol ingericht. Als je van rust houdt en buiten de toeristische gebieden wil zitten is het een echte aanrader.

Extremely Accomodating

My husband and I rented this wonderful place for a week and had a great time. Walter was very accommodating as we were having an extremely hard time with lost luggage issues. It was a spacious, clean, and very well maintained place situated just outside of town in the middle a unique forest. Thanks once again for all of your help. Tarah

Fantastic place

We rented this romantic place with our family (two boys, 1y and 2,5y old) for almost 6 weeks and had a fantastic time, the villa is nicely situated to the wind so we didn't need to make any use of the air conditioning. Both the neighbors and the other people living near were very friendly and we were several times invited for diner or BBQ during our stay. The owners have many connections and ideas of beautiful diving locations, horse riding, lounge bar and restaurants. Our children were very happy with all the toys they could borrow from the owners children. The only improvement would be a dishwasher. We loved the stars-view out there, and a very positive thing was, due to the nice wind, we didn't see or feel any mosquito's. (which was horrible at our previous vacation in Belnem) Next time we go back to Bonaire we will try to rent this place again.

Nice villa/community

Me and my wife visited Bonaire for snorkeling mostly. We liked the villa and the area. It's located far from the road in a friendly Dutch community. The only thing that bothered me a lot was the noise from the neighboring house (which was very close to ours). Specifically the owner of the house loves to whistle to music pretty loudly. And he's really good at it - it's just that high-pitch sounds annoy me easily especially where I hoped not to have them. But after about 8/9 PM everything was always quiet. The owner of our villa was very helpful. He picked us up and dropped off at the airport. We rented his car as well. The car has "been there" but it has done just fine for the price. (I would fix the inside light though - it could be important when looking at the map in the dark). If you have little children, you can't leave them alone on the porch - it's high and has no sidings.

Last year we discovered Kas Mai in the most beautiful and pristine location on Bonaire, Finca Verde, fell in love all over again and decided to buy our home away from home ! Bonaire is a wonderfull place because of it's quiet and peacefull atmosphere, friendly people and the avarage temperatures of 82˚F (28˚C) year round.
