Best location in Cefalu

Fantastic location 1.5 blocks from the central plaza. Melena is a wonderful host and made sure we were well prepared for the unusual traffic caused by the papal visit in Palermo. You will need strong legs for all the stairs but after our stay in cefalu, the rest of Sicily was easy!

Lovely characterful 17th century holiday house, great views of the sea and hillside

Lovely, characterful old house. Excellent location, close to the Cathedral, café, shops and the sea. Fabulous views from the small terrace. Owner very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this property and Cefalu itself.

Location calme et pourtant au cœur cefalu

La maison de Milena est très bien située et étonnement calme par rapport justement au fait qu'elle soit en plein centre, à 2 pas du Duomo. Tout en étage, on entre par la salle à manger, au fond il y a une petite cuisine et à côté la salle de bain, au 1er étage la chambre parentale petite mais agréable et une petite chambre d'enfant avec lits superposés, au 2eme étage la pièce de vie qui donne sur la charmante petite terrasse d'où on a une très jolie vue avec de beaux couchers de soleil ! Idéal pour prendre tous ces repas/apéro (seul bémol ils sont à préparaer au Rdc...du coup on passe pas mal de temps dans les escaliers). Milena a été très charmante et réactive quand nous avions des questions! C'est une très bonne adresse pour qui veut être au cœur de Cefalu sans être gené par son bruit et son agitation estivale ! Cefalu est une vraie carte postale, et comme tout lieu magnifique ...elle attire beaucoup de monde! Mais on a adoré!

Brilliant location just off main square in Cefalu with views of the sea and the mountain.

Milena was a great host. Her communication over email during booking was prompt and helpful. On the day of our arrival in the country, we kept in touch via WhatsApp and she was waiting for us on time (in fact early) as arranged to give us the key. During our stay Milena invited us to send her any questions by WhatsApp, and she went above and beyond the call of duty when our daughter was taken ill, advising us which clinic to go to and even offering her services as a translator by phone if needed. Thank you Milena! The property is not luxurious, but comfortable and had everything we needed. We spent most of our time on the balcony which has stunning views over the red rooftops of Cefalu to the bay as well as of the mountain. The apartment is in a really excellent location. Its a short walk from a main piazza and the cathedral, so seconds after closing the front door and you are in the charming cobbled streets of Cefalu with its lovely shops and restaurants. The beach is a very short walk, a huge win with small children. The balcony and living room are very peaceful, private and not overlooked. The main bedroom has a window very close to the neighbouring apartments and I would describe some of the nearby households (forgive the stereotype) as exuberant! We didn't mind as we loved living the authentic Sicilian experience and we chose not to stay in a large hotel for this reason. But light sleepers may want to pack ear plugs, or sleep in one of the other rooms. Cefalu is a beautiful town and we enjoyed a mix of beach holiday plus history & culture. The children built sandcastles and we also explored the cathedral, the temple to Diana, Roman baths etc. We ate like kings and the local ice cream is to die for. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Au coeur de la ville

Nous avons apprécié d'être au centre de Cefalù, adorable petit village touristique.La plage,les transports en commun , les magasins sont très faciles d'accès.L'appartement est convenable ; Nous avons apprécié la terrasse pour le petit déjeuner et le diner.La cuisine est petite mais correcte il nous a cependant manqué un bon couteau qui coupe.L'accueil (départ et arrivée)a été chaleureux.Nous recommandons le logement à condition d'être en forme :ça grimpe pour aller à l'appartement et à l'intérieur du logement ( sur 3 niveaux). La Sicile est vraiment un beau pays à découvrir....

Very nice!

We had a very nice welcome in the middle of the night! The owner of the house was very very nice and helpfull. Dhr sprake very god english ;-). Everything you need was there. Even a shopping/grocery trolley, wich was very practical, also to take to the beach, because you can't come nearby the place by car. We had a nice stay with our two daughters and would surely reccomend it!

Schöne Tage in der Altstadt

Die Ferienwohnung liegt toll in der Altstadt, nur einen Katzensprung vom Domplatz entfernt. Der Strand von Cefalu ist zu Fuß schnell erreichbar. Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr gepflegt und wir hatten eine schöne Zeit in Cefalu. Die Angaben des Inserates waren korrekt, wir wurden gut betreut. Können wir nur weiterempfehlen!

The most pleasant and well equiped home for our ah

We were pleased and happy to find that this house exceeded our expectations. The owner was very helpful before and during our stay. The property was clean and well equiped and only minutes away from the town centre, with very good restaurants and helpful staff. Our family of five will be returning soon to Cefalu.

Sehr schönes Haus in perfekter und ruhiger Lage

Wir waren 4 Tage in dem Haus. Die Einrichtung ist sehr gut, das Bad nett renoviert. Die Küche gut ausgestattet. Klar, große Menüs sind mühsam, aber ganz ehrlich, meist geht man eh Essen und für kleinere Essen reicht es gut. Ein Highlight ist die Dachterrasse, die wir sehr ausgiebig genutzt haben. Das in einer Rezession als störend beschriebene Strassenlicht ist inzwischen abgeschaltet, so daß beide Schlafzimmer dunkel sind. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig. Wir haben absolut nichts von den Nachbarn gehört. Etwas problematisch ist die Lage in bezug auf Parken und Gepäck. Parken ist am Bahnhof kostenfrei möglich - ca 15 min Fußmarsch, oder am Lungomare für 6,-€ für 12 Stunden - also 12,--€ am Tag! Man darf morgens bis 09:30 in die Fußgängerzone am Dom mit dem Auto fahren. Dies haben wir genutzt, um nicht so weit mit dem Gepäck gehen zu müssen. Die kleine Gasse, in der das Haus liegt ist nicht befahrbar, recht steil mit Stufen. Dafür ist man ums Eck am Dom und auch schnell am Strand. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder hingehen! Grazie Milena - tutto era perfetto! Abiamo avuto un meraviglioso tempo nel sua casa! Penso a presto Sylvia, Monika e anche Barbara P.S: per il estate un omberollone sulla terrazza erà buono :-)

Wonderful location

We stayed in this property for 3 nights. Pros: It has a great location in the center of Cefalu with wonderful views from the top floor terrace. The kitchen is well equipped. Cons: the ground floor (kitchen, bathroom, eating space) is very small, very dark (one small window facing on narrow street) and damp smelling - this might not be an issue in the summer, but in April it is. The closest parking is about a10 minutes walk away - not a problem, but should be disclosed. We had to wait for over an hour and several unanswered phone calls to be met at the predetermined location; I gather that this is not usually the case, but it was our experience.

Exceptionnel

Maison charmante, sur les hauts de la vielle ville de Cefalu, à 2 pas de la cathédrale et 5 minutes à pied de la plage. Toutes commodités à proximité. Il s'agit d'un bâtiment ancien, restauré avec simplicité et beaucoup de goût. Idéal pour 4 personnes. La cuisine est bien équipée. La petite terrasse offre un panorama époustouflant sur le littoral. Milena la propriétaire est une personne adorable qui fait tout pour rendre le séjour agréable. Nous y reviendrons!

Sicilian living at its best!!

When choosing our family holiday we wanted to be immersed in the center of Cefalu whilst also stay a peaceful and relaxing accommodation. This property did not disappoint! We were right in the middle of the historical centre about 3 minutes from the Duomo where the piazza was always full of hustle and bustle and atmosphere. Although central,the property is tucked away up a side street in a mainly pedestrianised area, this allowed that when we sat out on our 3rd floor terrace we could enjoy the surroundings, numerous sunsets and the beautiful view of the sea in peace. We ate breakfast every morning watching the birds flying in and out of la Rocca and enjoyed many dinners and BBQ's cooked on the outdoor BBQ that is provided. The beaches were no further than 10 minutes walk through the bustling narrow streets of the center and you can even sample some Sicilian pastries or ice cream on the way. While holidaying here we enjoyed the perfect balance of relaxing while also taking in some of the surrounds. We hired a car for three days and drove to Taormina where we spent a night overlooking the beautiful Mt Etna and visiting the stunning Greek Amphitheater. The following day we spent a great day in Etnaland which was a huge hit with the kids (age 9 and 5). While in Cefalu, we climbed la Rocca (Tip: climb in the morning while cool and shady also wear good footwear) the views from the top were amazing and we even spotted our terrace. We also took a boat trip to Lipari and Vulcano (Aeolian islands) where we bathed in the thermal hot mud spring baths in Vulcano, an amazing experience!!! (Tip: bring an old swimsuit and rubber flip flops, the springs are very hot if stood on) There is a particular street in Cefalu where all the restaurants back out onto the sea by way of spectacular decked terraces, we tried 2 or 3 of these restaurants and had great experiences every time. I would definitely recommend this house and Milena was more than helpful in her correspondence from pre booking to the day we checked out. This house has everything you need and we really felt at home there but best of all we got to live like true Sicilians for 2 weeks. I will never forget this holiday and hope to return someday!

Belle maison dans le centre hystérique de Cefalu.i

Cefalu est magnifique. La maison de Milena l est également !! Très bon contact avec Milena et Demetrio. Maison typique à deux pas de la place principale de Cefalu. Maison fonctionnelle avec une belle terrasse pour admirer le coucher de soleil. Je reviendrai !!

Che bella Cefalù!

La casa è situata in centro storico, in posizione tranquilla a due passi dalla splendida piazza Duomo. Ci siamo trovati bene, 4 posti letto, due bagni, cucina, sala, e la magnifica terrazza (da cui si vedeva tramonti fantastici e nella quale si faceva colazioni vista mare), il tutto disposto su tre piani. Le stanze erano pulite ed in buono stato; preziosi i consigli di Milena riguardo locali e ristoranti del centro, nonché escursioni e spiagge anche fuori porta. E' stata una bella vacanza.

Tolle Lage, toller Blick von der Terrasse.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Wohnung liegt ideal - am Rand der Altstadt, etwas entfernt von den Touristenströmen und trotzdem nur einen Katzensprung vom Dom entfernt. Da kann man sich keine bessere Lage vorstellen. Der Blick von der Terrasse auf Dom und Meer ist atemberaubend. Wir frühstückten dort gerne und genossen auch die Sonnenuntergänge. Die Einrichtung der Ferienwohnung ist ansprechend. Leider ist die Küche etwas klein; man hat kaum Ablagefläche. Größere Mahlzeiten mit mehreren Gängen würde ich hier nicht kochen. Das Bad ist auch klein, aber sonst in Ordnung, die Duschkabine etwas eng. Ein klarer Nachteil ist die Straßenlaterne unmittelbar vor dem Fenster des Schlafzimmers. Man muss die Läden nachts schließen, sonst ist es taghell im Zimmer. Dann wird es aber schnell stickig. (Tipp für den Vermieter: Vorhänge anbringen!) Zu unserer Zeit wohnte im Nebenhaus ein junger Mann, der zu allen Tages- und Nachtzeiten lauten italienischen Rap hörte. Ansonsten war es ruhig. Die Betreuung durch Milena war tadellos. Alles hat gut geklappt. Bei Problemen wäre sie sicherlich schnell zur Stelle gewesen - wir hatten aber keine Probleme. Wir waren an Pfingsten vor Ort - da war es am Wochenende voller Touristen. Unter der Woche wird es besser und abends ist es wunderschön, durch die Altstadt zu gehen. Parken ist in Cefalu ein Problem. Wir mieteten einen Parkplatz am lungomare (kostete für 7 Tage 60 €).

A really beautiful house and sea view terrace!

This is a really beautiful house on three levels. It's well equipped and very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need if you like cooking and the terrace is a great spot to sit out in the evenings. Although the house is just a stone's throw from the main square, it's very quiet peaceful and private. Being situated in the old part of Cefalu is a real treat. The process of booking with Milena was an absolute delight. She's very friendly, hospitable and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Cefalu - we love walking and found both the Madonie and Nebrodi National Parks to be easily accessible by car. Coming back to Cefalu at the end of a day's walking, sittting and watching the sun set with a cold beer, was superb. Thank you Milena - we hope to return one day!

Cefalù

Questa casa da sogno è situata nella meravigliosa cornice dell'antico centro di Cefalù, che si affaccia su un mare cristallino. Curatissimo e dotato di tutti i comfort, l'alloggio vanta una bella sistemazione su tre piani e una buona aerazione che consente di trascorrervi i torridi giorni dell'estate siciliana: ma il suo punto forte è sicuramente il terrazzino al terzo piano, da cui si ha una magnifica vista del paese e del mare da una parte e della Rocca di Cefalù dall'altra; qui si possono fare belle colazioni al fresco di mattina e godere dei tramonti preparando barbecue favolosi alla sera. Vicino al bel Duomo normanno (un must per gli appassionati di arte) le cui torri si possono ammirare anche dalle finestre della casa, l'alloggio è l'ideale sia per chi desidera un tranquillo soggiorno in un posto silenzioso grazie alla sua ubicazione in un quieto vicolo storico, ma anche per chi vuole una vacanza più movimentata grazie all'estrema vicinanza (davvero due passi) alla piazza, alle strade principali di Cefalù e alle belle spiagge. Il borgo vecchio di Cefalù, quasi completamente chiuso al traffico, è molto vivibile anche nei periodi in cui è affollato di turisti; da non perdere una visita alla Rocca per goderne una vista dall'alto. Da sottolineare la grande simpatia e disponibilità di Milena, la proprietaria dell'appartamento, che ci ha accolto davvero bene e ci ha fornito preziosi consigli.

La casa é molto fascinosa...

La casa é molto fascinosa, a ridosso del monte e rivolta al mare. Da una finestra si vedono anche i campanili del duomo. La casa é molto ben rifinita, arredata e attrezzata. La proprietà gentile e accogliente. Siamo stati molto bene, proprio perché é una casa che genera armonia. La spiaggia é piuttosto vicina, e la mattina é un gran piacere passare dalla piazza per recarvisi. La sera é facile l'accesso alla piazza, al corso e al lungomare. Il paese di Cefalù é piuttosto ben organizzato dal punto di vista turistico, molto pulito e ordinato.

Excellent communication w...

Excellent communication with Milena leading up to stay gave me confidence that all would go well with booking and stay and it did.It was a really good experience staying in a traditional Sicilian house.Three levels with two living areas gives you plenty of space. It is spotless with all the modern conveniences/equipment you need.The house is quiet and peaceful just behind the cathedral but only a couple of minutes walk and you are part of the lovely buzz/atmosphere of the historic quarter of Cefalu. Many relaxing hours were spent on the good sized balcony( with barbeque and sink area).It looks over the roof tops onto the amazing view of the sea especially at sunset and behind is the impressive view of the Rock.We often found ourselves making a point of getting back to watch the sunset.I rarely revisit a place but can say that I would like to go back here. Cefalu and its surrounding areas has got it all-beaches,national parks, sightseeing, fantastic food and warm, helpful people.

Lovely house - very well ...

Lovely house - very well laid out, clean and well maintained. Owner - very easy to deal with. Professional, attentive and helpful. Lovely location - near Duomo in historical Cefalu. Old town Cefalu is picture perfect and this house is part of that perfect picture. Very cenrally located, yet residential and quiet. View from the terrace (which I think is West facing for evening sun) is correctly represented in the photos and gives a beautiful view of "the rock" and the sea. Fully recommended and would certainly stay here again if we returned to Cefalu.

"This is a wonderful plac...

"This is a wonderful place! I have no words to describe how I enjoyed it. Our charming owner helped us to organize everything and she perfectly met us. The house is arranged with all the soul, taste and is very clean and comfortable, a little unusual (this ia e ral tour - 3 floor!), but in fact the purpose of the holiday is to live differently! The kitchen is small, but it is very easy to cook. Everything is arranged so that that any cooking person will be able to easily make a dinner for a company. We were there 4 people and every evening I made a new meal, I fully enjoyed by the opportunity to cook by Italian recipes with Italian products. The fresh fish from the early morning fish markets was marvelous! Sward, tuna, sardines, scomber, mackerel, octopuses, different seafood, we ate all of this in the nearest restaurants but I was trying to cook also myself and it was a bright experience. The beach is very close. From the windows and terraces there are spectacular views. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends and on occasion I really plan return someday to this wonderful place. A BIG THANK YOU FOR THE OWNER. "
