Amazing property

Had the best time ever spending Christmas here, the host was amazing and kept in touch the entire time which we loved. She was super sweet and the home had everything we needed with breathtaking views around. I highly recommend this for a family getaway.

This is the second time we have stayed in this lovely mountain home. Perfect location! Very near grocery stores, restaurants, golf courses! Aspen an easy drive and such beauty! The spectacular 7 Castles is your backyard and the Frying Pan is an easy walk! The house is so comfortable and lovely! We were there with our family and new 2 week old grand baby. So much room to spread out and the furnishings are beautiful! We love this place and hope to come again! Alice is a great host and very helpful!

The house was wonderful, and we all had a great time staying there. Part of our group was skiing, and the rest were there to hike and site see. The house was centrally located to have access to all the area has to offer. Would definitely choose to stay there again!

Gorgeous setting and spacious house

It was perfect for our Aspen/Snowmass ski vacation. The house had everything we needed and more. Loved the drive along the river, the wildlife sighting, the hot tub, the peace and quiet. Great kitchen for preparing meals. Comfortable beds and furniture. More space than 7 adults could even use, although we tried! Alice was easy to communicate with and very responsive.

Family getaway

Our family of post-college children and in-laws were looking for a beautiful spot from which to be together and have access to all our desired activities. This house was large, roomy, comfortable and spacious where we all had our own space and was located close to activities such as hiking, fly fishing and biking. We loved being outside of town but still close enough for shopping and the occasional afternoon out. Wonderful spot.

Wonderful House in Basalt

Communication with Alice was very good and she greeted us upon arrival! The Basalt location was perfect for us because we were visiting our son in Carbondale, but wanted quick access to Aspen and fishing on the Frying Pan River. I was hoping the house was directly on the river, but right across the street was pretty nice. We enjoyed the wildlife including turkeys, that visited the back deck every evening. Honestly, the house was a little too large for our group of five, but everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. All in all, we had a great experience, the house was well appointed and our children had a blast!!

Made for friends and family!

Very large and comfortable home with views from every window. this home was made for entertaining with lots of comfy furniture and a fully stocked kitchen. We had big dinners on the deck and enjoyed watching the deer which were very comfortable walking up to the house. The town of Basalt is a short drive away with wonderful restaurants.

Seven Castles Beauty

We loved Alice’s house. Beautifully decorated, plenty of room to spread out. Beautiful views of the Seven Castles. Great hiking and fishing all around. Frying Pan River walking distance from the house. Great waterfall hike right out the front door.Our family enjoyed numerous basketball games in the driveway and soaking in the hot tub. Beautiful golf courses nearby. It was a really good stay!

Large Mountain Home - Peaceful Stay

Alice's home had more than enough room for our family of nine. It was extremely well stocked - from the linens to the kitchen. August evenings were cool enough for open windows and fans were provided when needed. Cell service was poor and wifi slow. Location was good for summer activities.

Very Comfortable Home - Great location

Great property - great location. Very comfortable home with some of the most comfortable couches ever. My family and I enjoyed our time here and would stay again. Alice is a terrific host, super friendly and communicative. One thing worth mentioning is that the home does not have AC. I was a little worried at first given the daytime temps but well placed fans and open windows cooled the house off quite a bit, especially at night.

Quiet location, spacious house, great for family gathering

Great location for a relaxing family vacation. The house has plenty of space for a family of 8+. The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean. The house is a few miles out of town in the beautiful Frying Pan River Valley. Cell phone reception is minimal. Internet speed is slow. Alice, the host, had great recommendations for hiking in the neighborhood.

Frying Pan River

We love staying at Alice’s home on the frying pan river. We have stayed two times. The beds are very comfortable, with great linens pillows down comforters. The kitchen is great to cook in. We can hear the river running at night. Had a wonderful trip.

Basalt Winter Stay Review

Nice home, breathtaking views, heated floors and extremely cozy. Cons Broken coffee maker pots, water separates after sitting and leaves residue floating and on cup, hot tub jets broken, doors wouldn't lock extremely easy to enter home uninvited, spare bedrooms/apartment is entirely separate from the main home and not exactly ideal for family members you want close, especially considering the doors won’t lock and front door is incredibly difficult to open most of the time. In summary, amazing place, needs a week of maintenance and would be 4-5 star stay, which makes it slightly more annoying that for the price it would be so simple to fix all the issues with the home the guest just has to put up with.

Dream Colorado cabin! Just amazing!

We had the most amazing experience staying at Alice’s cabin. Gorgeous location, very cozy cabin, BBQ, hot tub, very spacious kitchen. Alice was super friendly and responsive.

Great place for a ski trip to Aspen

My group of 10 athletes was comfortable, with comfortable beds, plenty of space to do homework, a good size kitchen for preparing group meals, and a hot tub with gorgeous views! Alice was very communicative and a wonderful host.

Alice was an amazing host! She answered questions so quickly, and had everything we could possibly need. I mentioned to her that this would be our first holiday away from home, and she put up a lovely decorated Christmas tree! We absolutely loved our time spent in her comfortable home. Aspen and Snowmass are 20 minutes away. Basalt is 5 minutes away. Life long residents who are familiar with all the great restaurants, memorable hikes and memorable excursions in the Roaring Fork Valley. Basalt is home to many great restaurants and shops.

This property is where my kids grew up and learned to hike and ski (waterfall hike is above the house) and mountain bike trails are everywhere. Skiing has been in our family for years. We know all the great places to eat and explore. Guide books are in the house.

Stunning views in every direction. This home is an example of Colorado at it’s very finest. Amazing hiking and fishing just outside the door. Big horn sheep herd are known to visit and literally hang out at the house.
