Por qué nos gusta:
En Oregón, "ir a la costa" no siempre significa "ir a la playa". Esta cabaña frente al lago es una prueba viviente. Una escapada única para desconectar y desconectar, o hospedar a varias generaciones de familias. The pictures were different than what was reality and the reviews on the neighbor were correct. He made it very uneasy to make sure we didn’t upset him after him banging on the house at 2:30 a.m. because our kids that had just got there were unpacking but their car was on partly on his property. We did not realize the lower level was only reachable by a different outside entrance. The home served the purpose but it was not what we were hoping for. We had to completely clean and scrub the grill before using and could not even find anything to scrub the dishes with. The house was warm but only half of the beds were comfortable (2 were very broke down) so I felt bad for half our guests.

My family and I stayed at the Rustic Retreat on Mercer Lake, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing.The only positive aspect of this rental was the beautiful lake view — it truly is a peaceful and scenic spot. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay did not meet expectations.When we arrived, there were no lights along the pathway to the house, which made carrying luggage down the steps to the deck difficult and unsafe in the dark. The home itself is very outdated, and the photos online are not accurate to its current condition.Inside, it was clear the property is not professionally cleaned — we found cobwebs and dead bugs throughout the house, including in one of the beds. The downstairs area was in especially poor condition: it smelled musty and moldy, one blind was covered in mold and wouldn’t close, and the curtains were hung with strings that didn’t provide any privacy. The shower and bathroom also seemed unclean and neglected. Two family members who stayed downstairs even felt unwell due to the mold.We also noticed multiple cameras around the property, which made us feel uncomfortable. At one point, we placed a cup at the end of the driveway to help another family member find the rental, and the next day it had mysteriously been moved back toward our area — which added to the uneasy feeling of being watched.To make matters worse, on our last day, the water was shut off completely. We couldn’t shower, use the bathroom, or even clean up before left

I was very disappointed when arriving at the cabin. It wasn’t at all like it was described in Vrbo. The cabin was no longer red but green, and with no address on it, we had a hard time locating it. The cabin looked like an abandoned house from the outside and the inside. First the access key was wrong, upon entering the interior was even worse. Very dirty from the kitchen, sitting area, bathroom, bedroom, and floors. The cabin also had a horrible smell that made it hard to breathe. On top of all that the furniture was not like the pictures. It looked like someone came in and replaced it with whatever they found in the junk yard. As a concerned parent I was not about to let my family sleep, bathe, or eat in such a horrible place. We were forced to spent our vacation in hotels and eat in restaurants the whole time. The food we bought for our trip spoiled and was thrown out since we had no where to store it or cook it. We spend 5,000 more than anticipated on this trip. We have been using Vrbo for many years and never had any problems in the past. But for some reason they joined forces with another company called Vacasa. I didn’t notice until after the purchase was done. Be careful Vacasa ruined our family vacation. They absolutely turned our vacation into a nightmare.

The house was dusty, footprints in the shower still, dog hair everywhere. The pictures are misleading - there are no bunk beds The lower level of the home is completely separate from the above ground making it hard for us as a family to figure out who sleeps where being that we have younger children so we were all crammed in the upstairs. The downstairs was very much filled with dog hair and was uncomfortable. Also we weren’t comfortable with them sleeping alone because there is a home right next door that looks very creepy with a mean dog - the man didn’t present himself the whole time and there is a path from his home leading to the one we stayed in. The stove has a broken eye - we had to turn off the heat by finding the breaker because when we arrived the heat was on in one of the rooms and it was burning up in there - the wall heater was dangerously hot. There is nothing that comes with the home for us to have fun with - no fishing poles Nothing to go on the pier We came from across the country so we couldn’t pack these things This home needs many upgradesThe curtains didn’t work and the windows are stubbornThe only thing great about this home was our time spent out sitting on the pier - The greengage is also very much over grown and the kids weren’t able to play outside like I wanted

Excellent Lake House

Beautiful location. Lots of room inside. Very clean. Private dock. This place had everything. No TV but we were fine without. And although other reviews indicated problems with a neighbor, we have to add that the neighbor in question greeted us and told us to feel free to turn around in his driveway if needed. Will definitely stay here again.

Solid 3+stars. And, I'd go back.

While the property might feel a bit tired and worn (certainly dated), access to the lake and seclusion is hard to beat. Amenities and essentials are there and the house offers a surprising number of beds given the cost. There are some things that you'll miss, maybe many. However, if the point is to be able to unplug and be on a lake, it's a pretty great landing spot.

Great home for the price!

This place is outdated and has a list of things that could be improved....but that's why we liked it. Had a rustic feel and you can't complain about anything for the price. Yes, if it were more expensive, things would need to be updated. We had an awesome stay and the view is absolutely breathtaking. The neighbor is a salty character but we had no problems. I think if you are being respectful, he just minds his business. Would definitely stay here again!

Peace and quiet

The driveway is very long if you are worried about your car getting scratched don't book this place. Great spot on the lake, great to relaxing, but if you planning on going out every day to see Florence. Just keep in mind that it gets tedious driving back in and out every time. My dog love swimming in the lake and so did my kids.

Rustic Retreat

Overall we had an amazing vacation here, however a few things i was surprised by. The house is not red, its more of a grey, and the downstairs has a separate key code to enter that is easy to miss in the emails you receive the day before check in, but it is there (just be patient, lol). The gravel road getting up to the house is less than ideal, and a gate you have to get out and open to get down the driveway (that was never mentioned in the listing). Breathtaking views !! Easy access to the water !! Quiet surroundings !! Comfortable beds !!

Quaint, open floor plan

Cute old fashioned cabin, basic necessities. Do make sure you review check in instructions and take pictures of instructions, codes before leaving town and having cell phone reception. There is wi-fi once you get in. Once we got in, was a beautiful stay. Would love to stay here again.

It was ok.

The house is out dated. No tvs, we just used my laptop. Wifi works really well though! The main couch/love seat has a spring wire sticking through that was a pretty big safety hazard for my young children. The rocking chair has a huge hole in the arm rest. I originally booked this house because of the lake and it being a two story I figured kids could sleep up stairs( main area) and husband and I would take down stairs. But the up stairs and down stairs are not connected. You have to walk outside to get down to the bottom room. That was an issue for us with our oldest only being 9. As far as kitchen supplies it is poorly stocked with pots and pans has plenty of plates and silverware though. Beds were comfy and plenty of spare blankets.

The main floor with the kitchen and the loft was beautiful clean and warm. The bottom floor was freezing! It had a huge black spider behind a picture above the biggest bed. The room after one shower was completely humid and the windows were fogged up for the remainder of our stay. I slept in the bottom and it was hard to fall asleep since you could hear everything thru the thin thin ceiling. After the first night we just brought all blankets and pillows to the first floor and we slept on the floor. Now I’m sure this would be ideal in the summer with kids but I wouldn’t recommend for the rainy weather and 4 adults. It was still a beautiful view and we had a good time. The last day of our stay there was a thunderstorm and it was beautiful to watch from our windows and warmth of the inside

20+ minutes to property from heart of florence

Not an honest description of how rough the road is to property, and its not just the driveway as listed. The gate to property is a stressful after the rough drive to it, there are 2 keypads and neither one work with code given and no information given to say that the gate code boxes are fake and there is a carabiner type chain that you open to get through. Absolutely nothing listed about this! Wifi information is not what Vacasa sends you in your arrival email, had to contact someone and they were quick on response to me but they didnt have correct information either! Finally found a tiny booklet on table that had wifi info, which was completely different than listed! Ugh. The home is charmingish, but very musty and most of sheets had stains on them. Bedroom bed upstairs very uncomfortable and slept in a hole. You cannot access downstairs from inside upstairs, you have to go outside. Only 2 of the 4 burners work on the stove. Good thing we didnt do alot of cooking there. The view and access to water was only amazing part if this property. Waking up to the peaceful ripples of the lake was breath taking, until you had to turn around and go back inside to dinghy smelling home. All and all I guess you get what you pay for, and your paying for the beautiful view. We will not return to this property again.

A lake house that fits your basic needs!

We had a wonderful stay at this house! The view and dock were amazing! The water access was very secluded and well worth the challenging drive in which we were accustomed to with where we live currently and didn’t mind. A tv and dishwasher would be nice additions but it fulfilled our needs just fine. We appreciated the stay!

Great Time <3 <3 <3

This is our 3rd time staying in this Rental, Absolutely love it, we have had so much fun every time, this time was no exception =D BEAUTIFUL VIEW ALL DAY. Weather was great, Water was Fresh, House is a little outdated, but We did not choose it for fanciness. It has everything we needed. I love the New outdoor paint color, and the Layout change in the downstairs room. Hours on end in the water was Everyone favorite part. Thanks for sharing your home with us. We left lots of firewood for the next guest <3

Amazing Location

We loved the lake! The dock, and porches were in great condition. There was plenty of room outdoors to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. We ate most of our meals on the deck, and played games, and listen to music. We fished and swim. The only thing I would change, is next time I’d like to stay longer!
