Very cozy house. Located in a nice area of the beach that wasn't crowded but a short drive to shops and restaurants. Had deer in the back yard every night.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Beachcomber was a nice updated house in a great quiet location. The refrigerator was malfunctioning due to coils covered in fuzz balls. It was turned on high cold to make it colder but was not working. We spent an hour cleaning out the bottom and were able to turn it back down once it began to cool again. After that it was cooling correctly. The rooms were updated nicely, and we would consider re- booking.

Cute beach house with lots of sitting areas

My 14 years old daughter and rented for 4 nights as soon as school was out. The house had lots of wonderful seating areas which we really enjoyed. I loved all of the turtle themed decorations! The only slightly disappointing thing was the beach within walking distance wasn’t really easily accessible or one we wanted hang out on. But there was a nice beach about a mile away. I would suggest the owners advertise that they have 2 bikes, cornhole and beach stuff that is available to use. Knowing that would save potential renters money on beach rental gear. I absolutely would rent again or recommend to others!

Nice and easy

Jekyll Reality made it super easy. The house was in a good location. Only bummer is our beach access was underwater until low tide but we made it work. The pool passes to Days Inn was good so we could stay cool waiting on the tide to go out

Labor Day Getaway

Imagine you have grandparents named PawPaw and MiMi who have a house on Jekyll Island. They have a living room that is too "fancy" for anyone to sit in, complete with an antique sideboard and a few old dishes that MiMi inherited from her mother's mother. PawPaw still keeps some fishing stuff in the garage, but he doesn't get out as much as he used to since his hip surgery. The sun porch is really where they spend most of their time, with their bird books and binoculars, watching out the back windows to catch a pileated woodpecker or even an osprey traveling across island. This is the house you are staying in when you rent this house. And that's a good thing. Everything is comfortable, loved, and used. Sure, the furniture is not going to win any Southern Living photo contests, but it's just the right level of squishy and soft. Oh, some other reviews have mentioned the mattresses. We found them comfortable, if firm. A relaxed, easy, quiet stay was just what we needed. Thanks, pretend grandparents!

We got our check-in information 4 1/2 hours after check-out! That started our experience off negatively. We messaged, called, and even called VRBO, to try to get check-in info and were unsuccessful so we went to the rental property and the door was unlocked and keys sitting on the coffee table. Never heard from anyone. We got the email for checking in 4 1/2 hours after we dropped the keys off for checkout. The house was very outdated. The AC couldn’t get the temp cool enough for our babies to sleep at night or during the day until the last night and that was after a thunderstorm. The beds aren’t attached to the frames so they fall off the frame and/or knock against the wall with every rollover in the bed. My nephew ended up sleeping on the floor after the bed fell off the frame. We are asked to have the house “broom clean,” but there’s no broom in the house. All in all, not a great experience. If we come back to Jekyll, we will definitely stay at a hotel. The extra cost will be worth the comfort!

Enjoyed a quick getaway with our family. House was close to biking trails- our favorite thing to do on Jekyll. Well equipped kitchen and nice living areas. Very clean! Furniture seating in main living room needs updated. Mattresses are not comfortable at all :( But overall, we had a wonderful time!

The house was layed out so that everyone had space :) The location was perfect, and everything was as described.The only negative thing was the beds.... they could use an upgrade. BUT Overall it was amazing!! :)
