Family stay

I stayed with my family in August. It’s a very spacious villa and big garden , perfect for am extended family. The only thing that let it down was it needed some TLC. If it was mine I would update all the rooms. Spending some money on it would allow you to charge more for property. Overall a good trip and villa and worked well for a large family group and Christina was very helpful allowing us to stay later on our last day

Fantastic holiday at Vila Lordd! Pictures don’t do it justice - much bigger than expected both inside and outside. All 3 upstairs bedrooms are in the 3 pillars and have their own staircase - 2 of them have their own large 1st floor terrace - giving lots of privacy when travelling in a large group. Gardener came to clean round the pool etc first thing nearly every morning, pool man came to clean and check the pool levels and and a lady came to change our towels mid-week. Christina was extremely helpful and on hand if you needed her for anything. I did read the reviews before we booked and understand when they say it needs a little TLC but I still think it’s a 5 star property. We travelled in a group of 10 family and friends ranging from 20yrs - 50 yrs and we all loved it there and had a wonderful holiday!

A lovely villa which was ideal for our party of 11.6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, large lounge and kitchen diner.The only negatives were the distance from shops, bars and restaurants. A car would be recommended.There was only one sun umbrella around the pool and it wouldn't open because it was surrounded by branches.

Excellent stay enjoyed by all

The villa was just as described. Check in was easy and Cristina sorted out a transfer from Faro airport for all of our group. Pool was great although loungers were a little uncomfortable and one was damaged. Aircon worked throughout the property and a couple of general maintenance issues were dealt with promptly and without a fuss. Communication with Cristina was excellent and she even came to our aid at 06:45 on our last day when we couldn’t get passports out of the safe (a battery in the safe had come out of position!) Only small issue was the washing machine appeared to have quite a bad leak which has been ongoing for some time judging from the blown timber at the base of the adjacent cupboard. The walk into town takes about 20 minutes but the most direct route isn’t flat! A brilliant stay and we would definitely recommend!

Generally satisfied

Overall, the property was as expected and met our needs with ample space for a family group of 11 people, and we enjoyed our stay. Special mention must go to Cristina, who was very helpful. The standard of cleaning we found on arrival was barely adequate, as one shower was blocked and rubbish was found under some of the beds. The property could use some improvement, such as repair of broken outside shutters (some had fallen off completely), which banged in the breeze, day and night. In addition, the table football was damaged and dangerous, with one leg of the table loose and likely to fall. Our children were stopped from using it. Some tile replacement is also required in the swimming pool. I would also recommend that the batteries in the air conditioning handsets are checked, as one did not work. these were niggles, rather than serious problems, but they do not comply with the nature of the property.

Our family stay

The outside and indoor space of the villa is fantastic with room to spare. We were an extended family of 10 and had loads of room. The villa as has been mentioned before is a little tired. The bedrooms whilst large did not have shower fittings as the holders were broken making showering less than easy. The beds however were comfortable but in our two weeks whilst the towels were changed twice the bed linen was not. Wardrobe space was ok but the hanging rails were not all safe. The kitchen facilities, washing machine and dishwasher were fairly new and good. The double fridge freezer was more than ample for food and drink storage. The lounge was very big with pool table to use so no complaints there. Outside furniture consisted of three parasols two of which were ok. Seven sun beds with another broken and not the strongest plastic construction so be careful. The pool was a nice size but an area of tiles missing in the shall end made everyone enter with care. The gardens were lovely. The gardener came once and the pool guys twice. Contact with the manager was easy and reliable and Cristina was on hand to help sort out minor issues. As we had our own car the electric gates gave us great security. We all enjoyed the villa but it could benefit from a refurb especially in the bedrooms

Great value and we will return

We are a family group ages from 4 to 59 and in many ways Casa Lordd was ideal, good location, for the most part a typical slightly dated portugese villa . We have stayed around Carvoiero many times so knew what to expect from the village. Its quite a busy holiday destination with wide range of restaurants and facilities : also lots of beaches closeby.. It was reported last September that two of the bedrooms had no working lights, one bedroom had no working shower and the pool wasnt attended to during our stay and was turning green by the end of our visit. It would be nice if these things were attended to for future visitors . A great space but a bit of effort would make it fabulous.

Good family location

Very good villa with plenty of space and lots of activity for the children. We believe it would be improved if more and better parasols were provided around the pool as there is no shade.

Authentiek en bijzondere accommodatie

Waren met 8 volwassenen en 3 kinderen in juni 2019 een week in Vila Loydd. Zeer ruime Vila met ruime slaapkamers waar je goed kunt verblijven zonder elkaar te horen. Een schitterend zwembad, met een veilig hek eromheen voor de kleine kinderen. Prachtige goed verzorgde tuin en voldoende schaduwplekjes om buiten te zitten en te eten . Ook zelfs schaduw voor de auto’s, wat ons betreft dus een aanrader! Wel zijn er wat aandachtspunten voor het onderhoud van de badkamers, luiken en de keuken, maar absoluut geen reden om deze Vila niet te huren .

Fabulous Villa

Casa Lordd looked good in the pictures but was even bigger and better on arrival. Initial look round the villa showed the very impressive accommodation and facilities for all of the party (11) from 10 months to 88 years. The outside area was also excellent again pool and gardens bigger than expected.

Great Family Holiday

We stayed at the villa in August 2018, it was our family holiday, 7 adults & 5 children. We all had a fantastic time. The villa was very spacious & offered everything that we needed. It was very well equipped inside & out, the kids loved the pool table & of course the pool. The property, linen & towels were all immaculate. The outside pictures does not do the villa any justice, beautiful outside garden well looked after, the pool area is actually fenced off & again clean, well looked after. The villa offers great privacy. Plenty of seating outside to enjoy & relax. Cristina & the cleaners was fantastic, we had a few issues that arose during our stay & both were dealt with immediately & no fuss. Before booking we looked at previous comments & yes the property has a few shutters that could do with some maintenance, the kitchen is not as modern as some etc.... however a great villa that i would recommend & would stay again!

Has all you need

Our friends and I had a lovely week stay at Villa Lordd. There was 12 adults and 4 babies which fit us all in, with plenty of room. The pool and outside area was beautiful. The house meets all requirements, and has everything you need, although is slightly dated and would benefit from a little update to make a perfect stay!

Excellent sejour

Nous avons passé une semaine a 11 personnes dans cette superbe villa. Tres bonne situation géographique, villa tres bien équipée en conséquence du nombre de personne mais qui mériterait un petit rafraîchissement. La piscine est vraiment grande et permet de bien s amuser, 2.4 m de profondeur d'un côté. Billard en tres bon etat, baby-foot pour les enfants surtout, pas de tres bonne qualité. Niveau cuisine tout est fonctionnel. Les chambres sont tres grandes, celles du haut, et ont toutes une salle de bain. Dommage que l'accès au toit terrasse soit fermé il y a vue sur la mer. Bilan, nous nous sommes vraiment bien amusé avec 3 enfants et 8 adultes une semaine inoubliable pour nous tous, donc a refaire. Kévin

Good but could be great

Pro's: spacious property, large bedrooms, great swimming pool and pool and table tennis tables. Ample parking. Cons: could use a modernisation of general room decor, particularly kitchen and bathrooms. Could be maintained better (fixing doors catching on tiles and shutters not closing properly). Security could be improved with new window and door shutter locks. Safety could be improved with smoke alarms (which I think is a simple but important upgrade). Cleaner didn't turn up when the booklet said they would. Overall we had a great time at the villa. Our booking was for 12 and we were all comfortable and at home there. The pool is excellent and the kids spent lots of time in it. The facilities are generally good with large tv in most rooms, good WiFi, pool table, table tennis table and other games. However we had some problems too. The hot water was almost at boiling point and the boiler thermostat must have been broken as a pipe split and vented steam to the exterior of the property. The maintenance guy came within 2 hours and did a temporary fix and the plumber came out on a Sunday for a proper fix which was excellent. The maintenance of the property could be better. Some external shutters were difficult to close with bent rods etc, doors were catching on tiles, bathroom taps were leaky. The decor and bathrooms were tidy but could do with a overhaul as could the kitchen which had issues with tripping the electrics every time the cooker hood was on at the same time as the hob. The units were old and yellowing. So, with a bit of cash investment this good property could be brilliant.
