Une magnifique villa, isolée mais proche de Francavilla. Idéale pour une famille ou des groupes d'amis. La décoration est superbe. Les chambres sont spacieuses et indépendantes avec toilettes et salle d'eau. La cuisine professionnelle est bien équipée. Sans parler de la grande piscine à disposition. Tout serait enchanteur si ce n'est qu'il faudrait remettre en état les chaises longues, les parasols (cassés), le auvent et la sonnette d'accès à la propriété. Carmelo est trop "speed' dans ses explications. Nous sommes restés 15 jours et il aurait fallu nettoyer la piscine sans avoir besoin de le demander. Néanmoins le séjour fut inoubliable.

We (10 people including family/friends & children) had a fantastic stay at this Relais de Placa! The villa was absolutely gorgeous and beautifully maintained, with all the amenities we could ask for, making it a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. The pool and grounds are beautiful, and the bedrooms are spacious, each with their own ensuite. The kitchen was a cook's dream, and we made some wonderful meals to eat out on the big table in the garden.Carmelo, the owner clearly cares a lot about his guests and the property, which is wonderful. Sometimes, he would drop by or check in — a sign of his attentiveness, though it’s worth noting if you prefer more privacy. He helped us book transport to a winery, and also U Pacciu, the best meat restaurant in the area. It's definitely worth a visit if you are carnivores like us!There were quite a few guidelines to keep in mind, but overall, an amazing stay. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a lush,well-equipped home away from home.

Wunderbarer Aufenthalt in Sizilien

Großzügiges und schön eingerichtet ist Haus, in dem wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Der große, gepflegte Garten mit dem schönen Pool vermittelte ein richtig schönes Urlaubsgefühl. Wir konnten beim schönen Wetter draußen in der Sonne frühstücken. Wir haben draußen Tischtennis und drin Billard und Tischkicker gespielt. Es waren alle Altersgruppen von 17-61 damit gut bedient. Die Kommunikation mit Carmelo war sowohl vor der Anreise wie auch während des Aufenthaltes. Eindeutige Empfehlung.

Carmelo was very helpful and friendly. He gave us a tour of the area and made reservations at the BEST restaurant. The area was beautiful. The little towns are special. Hats off to Carmelo. We would have liked more pillows and towels as we used every bedroom in our stay.

Fabulous villa

Carmelo, the host, is exceedingly helpful and his knowledge of the area is exemplary. He booked us taxi's and restaurants and helped us with best routes for our outings, he even helped when we had a puncture in our hire car tire. The property is old and beautiful with fantastic facilities, is clean and it is a joy to spend time there. A car is a must to see the area and there are plenty of places to eat and wonderful villages to visit. Just round the corner are amazing views of Etna, Taormina and the beaches in that area are around 40 minutes in the car and are a must see. We also took day trips to Syracuse/Ortigia and Tindari. Sicily is wonderful and we look forward to returning to see a bit more!

Spectacular

The property was amazing n spotless. The gardens n pool were awesome. We had 7 people n plenty of room n space for everyone. The kitchen was state of the art. Taormina was an hour away. The owner Carmelo was on hand as soon as we called him for anything, very very helpful n very nice. Highly recommend we loved it

A beautifull hause with a stunning garden and a large swimming pool. We spend a wonderful week here with a group of 8 people in June. The host was nice and helpful, providing us with plenty of information abaut the area and services. It was easy to visit nearby attractions by car, such as Etna, Taormina, and Alcantara. Girls week in the Blue Villa

I had the most amazing stay in this property with 10 girlfriends visiting Sicily for the first time. Carmelo and his wife Rosangela were at our disposal for any questions and we had, even stepping in to help us navigate a scary medical emergency on our last night. I cannot recommend staying here enough,we had the most unforgettable week !!!!

Beautiful Villa, Great Host

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, spacious villa - it's perfect for up to 5 couples as each of the 5 bedrooms has its own bath and there's plenty of parking. The commercial kitchen is well-equipped and there are plenty of areas to socialize. The gardens and pool area are also lovely; we enjoyed morning coffee or afternoon snacks outside when it was warm. We were all adults for this visit, but the villa has many games and activities available for children as well. The location is great for exploring eastern Sicily; anywhere from Messina to Siracusa is an easy day trip and the scenery is spectacular no matter which way you go. Carmelo, our host, really made the trip special. He arranged tours for us and our friends (Mt. Etna, olive picking and olive oil production, winerys), and was always available on short notice to promptly address any issues. He even got us a dinner reservation for 7 after a restaurant told us they were booked that evening. He truly made us feel welcome in his villa and town.

Vacances entre amis

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. La maison est magnifique, on se sent transporté dans une autre époque. Tout était parfait, chambres, piscine, cuisine sans oublié nos tournois au babyfoot et au billard. Notre hôte Carmello est très gentil et il nous aider pour kes résevations de vignoble et la visite de l'Etna. Un séjour mémorable entre amis !

Lovely villa

Fantastic place with character. Charming villa! Wonderful pool and poolarea with sunbeds, dinnertable, barbeque, tabletennis and lots more. Every room is quiet and has its own bathroom. Big restaurantkitchen with everything you need. A supermarket is only a few minutes away by car. Carmelo is a fantastic host and guide. He helped us to arrange tours to Etna and a wineyard. We highly reccomend this place.

Gorgeous family vacation at Francavilla

Our family of 7 people (6 adults, 1 child), loved our stay at Francavilla. The villa and surrounding were gorgeous, with lots to do- a great location for enjoying true Sicilian countryside and villages without lots of tourists.

A beautiful house surrounded by nature

This villa is stunning. Our family of 4 had amble space and very much enjoyed the large pool and beautiful balcony area, from which we watched falcons and foxes each night. Carmelo couldn’t have been more helpful and was really friendly. He was available on WhatsApp every day.

Amazing big house in the hills. We had loads of space and the facilities were excellent. Lovely pool with plenty of space and loungers and seating. Carmelo was a really nice chap very helpful. His recommendations for local restaurants and things to do were really good. Definitely needed a hire car to get around. There’s a downstairs bedroom too for those that aren’t able to do stairs. Overall great stay.

Wunderbarer Familienurlaub unserer vier Generationen

Wir wurden sehr freundlich von Carmillo begrüßt und fanden das Objekt wie beschrieben vor, auch wenn im Laufe der Saison einige kleine Reparaturen nötig wären. Wir, neun Personen von 8 bis 85 Jahren, haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt. Leider hatten wir in den anderen Bewertungen nichts zur Lage gefunden, zu erwähnen scheint uns jedoch, dass das Grundstück zwar einsam aber an der Gablung zwischen zwei Straßen liegt. Das wird relevant, wenn man bei offenem Fenster schlafen will. Trotz diesem kleinen Manko bietet die Villa alles was nötig ist und wenn man Mal nicht weg will, lässt sich der Tag ohne Probleme am herrlichen Pool verbringen.

Tolles Haus in den Bergen

Wir verbrachten hier mit den Freunden eine tolle Woche. Das Haus liegt in den Bergen, so viele Sterne nachts habe ich schon lange nicht mehr gesehen. Ideal für die Großfamilie. Sehr guter Ausgangspunkt um die Ostküste, die Etna und die Bergdörfer kennenzulernen. Rosangela und Carmelo sind aufmerksame und sehr hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Ob eine Wanderung, eine Weinprobe oder Restaurantbesuch - es wird alles organisiert, es bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Vielen herzlichen Dank für die unvergessliche Reise!!!

Unfortunately the house and grounds were not up to standards as shown on website. The Sicilians do not understand what the seasoned traveler expects. Mold all over outside structure, in showers and baths , grounds not well maintained. While pleasant, owners were not available in reasonable time when needed especially on last night when power went. There were no emergency instructions available in villa. Very disappointed in general cleanliness and toilet areas of local towns and major cities. My family emigrated from Italy but we were always taught pride in our selves and property regardless of how poor we were. The Italian practice of closing down all shops and restaurants in mid day until evenings made very difficult to enjoy amenities. We went to Italy to walk in the steps of our ancestors; now I understand why they left.

Fantastic house with friendly, service-minded host

This house used to be a hotel, which shows in the well-equipped restaurant kitchen, comfortable rooms and well-sized social areas. Inside, it has a luxurious feel to it and outside, the nice private pool area with sun beds is a huge plus. (However, there were only seven sun beds although there are ten beds inside, which was a small minus). By the pool, you will also find a small house with washer and shower. The bedrooms are all equipped with air-conditioning, tv, a safe and ensuite bathrooms. There is a wifi-network that will cover your most basic needs, but because of the house's remote location, mobile coverage was uneven. The house is located about 5 minutes by car from Francavilla di Sicilia, a small town where you will find a few stores, supermarkets, the local butcher, barber, etc. The surrounding areas are quiet hills, with grazing cows and sheep. There is some traffic outside the house as it is right by an intersection, but you will unlikely be disturbed. Also, around the pool area are high hedges that provide privacy. The hosts, Carmelo and his wife Rosangela, are very friendly and eager to help. Carmelo works as a local guide and can help you arrange trips or give directions on nearby attractions - do take the chance and ask him for advice or questions about the local history! One night, we had a private chef at our villa, serving us typical Sicilian food - a marvelous and tasty experience. We give this house and its hosts our warmest recommendations.

Villa is fantastic

Located 3kms outside Francavilla and an hour from Catania airport it is set in a lovely area close to the foot of Mount Etna. It would appear to have previously been a boutique hotel or band b with 5 bedrooms all double or can be twin, but it is now rented out as an entire villa. All the bed rooms are Ensuite and are to a very high standard with very comfortable beds and generally the finish down to the black out curtains is very luxurious. The kitchen is a fully kitted out industrial one which is great for cooking which we did a lot of . The outside area is excellent too with a very large and lovely pool and the grounds are very well kept and there is plenty of seating too. It can comfortably accommodate 10 people but we were a smaller group of 6 . The owner was very helpful if needed and suggested local activities e.g wine tasting . This villa is an excellent choice if you are looking for a bit of luxury , space and set in the countryside .

Etna, villages like Castiglione de Sicilia ( visit Giuseppe's "Bar Le Chevalier"? , who is the sweetest guy and his lovely Mom who came and made us a delicious Sicilian meal, at our villa!), Cap D'Orlando, Syracusa and so much more! Carmelo, the owner, is so nice, informative and helpful without being at all intrusive; a wonderful ambassador of his area. The villa is a restored historical building with 5 great bedrooms each with ensuites. There is an abundance of areas to sit as a group or have some quiet time. Grounds are wonderful, lovely pool, not too precious...perfect! Ten of us...not a whiff of a complaint! Just go!

Great holiday

We booked 2 weeks in July 2015 and had a fantastic stay. The villa had plenty of space for all of our family and the outside and pool area in particular was fantastic. Carmelo and Rosangela could not have been more helpful and were always available for any questions or to suggest excursions or anything else we needed. A car was essential but we found the villa to be an excellent base to explore what the east of Sicily has to offer.
