The Cooks Cottage - una antigua cabaña rústica de pescadores a un minuto de la playa

La cabaña es una antigua cabaña de pescadores rústica con 3 habitaciones dobles y dos baños (uno de los cuales está arriba) en 3 plantas, con un hermoso jardín en el patio, y está a unos 30 segundos de las encantadoras tiendas y restaurantes independientes de Whitstable y un minuto del mar y la playa!

El interior está lleno de una peculiar mezcla de muebles vintage y francés boho y hay tablas de madera originales en toda la casa. La sala de estar tiene dos sofás chesterfield grandes y cómodos con capacidad para 6 personas fácilmente y el comedor adyacente tiene una mesa de comedor con capacidad para 6 personas cómodamente y también hay una gran chimenea abierta para las acogedoras noches de invierno.

Los perros son bienvenidos para quedarse. (Tenemos dos perros de rescate, aunque ellos y nosotros obviamente no estaremos allí durante su estadía).

Toda la ropa de cama y las toallas están hechas de algodón egipcio de alta calidad y durante los meses de verano (en realidad hasta octubre, ya que todavía hace mucho calor) también proporcionaremos toallas de playa, sombreros para el sol, esteras de playa, una cesta de picnic, etc.

En el jardín tenemos una barbacoa y tenemos una mesa y sillas para comer al aire libre para hasta 8 personas. Tenemos una chiminea en el jardín para esas tardes que se vuelven un poco frías.

La cocina está equipada con hierbas frescas de nuestro jardín, además de otras hierbas y especias secas, café, té, azúcar y otros condimentos para cocinar, y la cocina está bien equipada con la mayoría de las cosas para aquellos que desean cocinar, de ahí el nombre de la cabaña, ¡ya que la cocina ha sido construida por un carpintero especialista y equipada con utensilios de cocina y condimentos para aquellas personas como nosotros que aman cocinar!

Para el entretenimiento en el hogar, tenemos muchos discos de vinilo y un hermoso radiograma de trabajo para que los invitados toquen discos, parlantes de Apple para música digital, muchos libros, juegos y dos televisores con Sky y hay wifi en toda la cabaña.

Esta cabaña única está repleta de muchas antigüedades interesantes, tiene una decoración elegante y deslucida y está llena de encanto rústico. La cabaña tiene un hermoso jardín amurallado con hermosos rosales y hierbas de cosecha propia, así como una mesa y sillas francesas para al menos 8 personas que cenan afuera; hay una sala de estar con dos sofás chesterfield con capacidad para al menos seis personas cómodamente; el comedor tiene una chimenea abierta y una mesa y sillas con capacidad para 6 personas; el baño de la planta baja con la bañera original de hierro fundido y también hay un cuarto de baño más moderno en la planta superior; cada una de las tres habitaciones dobles tiene camas dobles antiguas y sábanas de algodón egipcio; Además, hay una increíble galería de cocina a medida con encimeras de madera hechas a mano, una estufa, un frigorífico y un completo complemento de ollas, sartenes y utensilios. También hay pisos de madera y radiadores de la vieja escuela en toda la casa.

NB: tenga en cuenta que, como todas las cabañas de pescadores en Whitstable, las escaleras son muy empinadas y no son adecuadas para aquellas personas que tienen problemas de movilidad.

The cottage was exactly as advertised very cosy and everything in place. The host was excellent with communication and excellent to deal with throughout. Very well situated, garden lovely close to everything ie pubs, restaurants , beach and the high street with wonderful shops.

The extra touches make this a delightful place to rent. Parking can be tough and heed the warning of the steep stairs, however, location is fantastic and owners are very responsive. We will definitely stay again.

Quirky well located and resourced cottage

Location is extremely central and offers great access to the beach and town. The cottage is very comfortable and well stocked with lots of things to make the stay more enjoyable.

Lovely time in Whitstable

A cosy and comfortable cottage in a fantastic location. We were a family group of 3 generations and the cottage was the perfect place for us to stay and enjoy Whitstable. The location was ideal for the beaches, pubs and shops all close by. Thank you for a great holiday.

The home is beautiful and exactly as per the images. It's comfortable, the kitchen is fully functional with gas cooker and excellent cookware, the showers are hot and powerful, the bath relaxing, the garden and garden room lovely. There's loads of little additions like a record player that adds great atmosphere and the toys and games. The baby cot bed was comfortable and our daughter slept well. Overall very homely and we loved it, so recommend.

Gorgeous property really well located for everythung!

We stayed (myself and my husband, our 1 & 3 year olds and my parents) in Cook's Cottage for a week and had the best time! It couldn't be better located for access to the shops, restaurants or the beach. Even with a laden buggy and kids the beach was a 3-4 minute walk away (it would be 2 mins without kids!). It's a beautifully decorated house, so many pretty things (but all robust if you've got little ones) and comfy beds and lovely linen. The kitchen is really well equipped and the bathrooms have generous toiletries. The 2 bathrooms (one with a bath downstairs and one with a shower on the first floor) are perfect for the size of house and the yard is a great size for bbqs, evening drinks and for kids to play in. Selina was really quick to answer any questions and Sarah who looks after the property was too, really accommodating. Most places are open again in town and there's a lovely buzz. We would definitely stay at the Cottage again and hope to be back in the not too distant future.

A charming holiday home in the centre of Whitstable

Another great stay at Cooks Cottage - a special place in a central location which was ideal for access to shopping, cycling and water sports activities. The cottage was clean and tidy, with plenty of charming features, including a vinyl record player and private outdoor seating for relaxed family dinners.

Fantastic location, disappointing property.

Unfortunately the interior of the cottage did not live up to the photos that advertised the property. We were given 2 days notice that the house next door was having minor building works done. A complete refurb and rear extension is more than minor works. This meant we could not use the garden during the day. Although we do not blame the owners for the building work but we would of appreciated more notice as we would have found somewhere else. As you can appreciate you go on holiday to get away and relax but we felt we couldn’t do that there.

Very perturbed by this reviews for several reasons. Firstly, when Collette and her party first checked in they raved about the cottage. When I called to mention our neighbours building works, which I can obviously do nothing about, I stressed that if there was too much noise they should let me know and I would speak to the owners. Collette said that it shouldn’t be a problem as they were visiting friends in Whitstable who had a sea view cottage so they would be spending most of their time there and would be using our cottage as ‘as a base to sleep’. At no point during their week stay did they mention any noise issues. If they had we would have spoken to the owners. FYI although this building work is going on next door our garden size and shape means you can comfortably use the garden without being disturbed too much. Finally, when Colette and her party checked in - I might add they tried to check in early on three separate occasions even after I had repeatedly told Collette the check in time - they raved about the cottage and garden! As noted, by other reviews on this holiday site - which are all 5 * I might add - the interior looks even better than the photos as we’ve just newly decorated the cottage and landscaped the garden. I’m not sure why Colette has written such a scathing review but we’ve had over 150 5* reviews so I guess the old adage ‘there’s always one…’ holds true. FYI to the any new guests checking in soon, our neighbour’s building work is nearly completed but if any guests are disturbed in any way please let us know immediately and we will inform the owners next door.

The perfect staycation. The photos don’t show just how beautiful and amazing this property is. 3 good double sized bedroom which ensure everyone feels like they have a beautiful room. Selina gave us great suggestions on where would be open for food and drinks and was quick to respond if I ever messaged with a question The location of this property ensures that once you arrive you can truly hang the car keys up and just enjoy your stay. Perfect cottage

Location was excellent and very close to the town and beach. It was a short walk from the station also. The cottage had absolutely everything we needed and was super cosy. Check in and out was smooth and we’ll definitely come again!

Cosy cottage

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely little cottage. The cottage had everything we needed (including baby gates) and was seconds away from the high street. Particularly loved the bathtub and the variety of toiletries.

Fantastic location, very close to the harbour, restaurants and shops.

Lovely quirky property. Ideal for a family get together. Three good sized bedrooms and plenty of room to socialise both inside and out. Sarah and Chris who manage the property are excellent to deal with.
