Best part of our trip

Our stay at Villa Sao Sebastiao was the absolute best part of our trip. I would easily fly back to Portugal to just stay at this phenomenal retreat. Beautiful scenery, peaceful, excellent accommodations, and the most welcoming host.

Amazing property- great host

This property is even more beautiful than the pictures suggest. An ideal base to explore Porto. Our host was extraordinarily helpful - including finding a doctor to write a script my wife needed. Mornings next to the pool looking over the Douro with fresh fruit from adjacent trees - doesn’t get much better!

Lovely house in beautiful area

We did enjoy our stay in this great holiday villa a lot. It is very calm, yet close to Porto. Many things to see in the environment but also a great place to relax and enjoy the pool, the views across the Douro valley and the nice house, which is well equipped. Last but not least did we enjoy the hospitality of proprietor Seabastião a lot, including his warm welcome and good advice and tips for day trips.

Beautiful place with great views of the Douro from the terrace and the bedrooms, and even from the shower. The house is very well equipped, Sebastiao was a meticulous and caring host with lots of tips, and the pool - also with river views - could not be improved.

We loved our stay at this property. The room configuration is a little funky but the little house had everything we needed. Easy car ride to Porto and access to the Duro Valley. The pool is not for the faint of heart. Filled from a natural spring with zero chemicals but 66F is a shock to the system. The host was amazing, super available and took us on a tour of the local area in his Tesla when we arrived. If you don’t need to go to the supermarket you should let him know as it’s not super close! The views over the Douro river are amazing. If you are taking a river cruise the local marina is a likely starting point and just 5 minutes from the house.

A peaceful hideaway

We loved our 2 weeks here at San Sebastián and were loathe to leave. You do need a car and we would 100% recommend checking out Porto. We chartered a yacht and saw it the best way - from the river running through it! Enjoy and don't hesitate to book - the jewel in the crown is Sebastian himself, what a gentleman. 5*

Beautiful place to stay and gorgeous view on the Douro river

We enjoyed a wonderful vacation in this beautifully renovated old barn located in a gorgeous compound. The kids had a great time in the infinity pool which also has a fantastic view on the Douro river far below. Sebastiao is great host, gave us a lot of good recommendations and is very friendly. There is so much to do whatever you are interested in. Fantastic beaches, Porto is wonderful, there are lots of activities on the river and much more. We highly recommend this place to stay and use as the base for a great vacation.

Beautiful Portugal

Beautiful view of the Douro River! Refreshing cold mountain stream swimming pool. Morning coffee under the umbrella by the pool. The bugs were a bit plentiful and do get into your villa. Definitely not for anyone who is handicapped or unsteady as there are no railings on stairs or coming down stone stairs outside.

Super gelegenes Anwesen mit einem traumhaften Blick auf den Douro Fluss, rund 30 Min. vor Porto. Herzlicher Empfang mit einer tollen Betreuung durch den Gastgeber. Das Haus war sauber und funktional eingerichtet; könnte ein Facelift gut gebrauchen. Ist ein super Ausgangspunkt für diverse Ausflüge im Norden Portugals. Insgesamt eine Empfehlung!

Nous avons passé une semaine très agréable dans cette location.Le cadre de la location est exceptionnel avec toute cette verdure et cette nature à proximité. La vue sur le Douro est elle aussi unique et le paysage est magnifique.Par ailleurs, Sebastiao est aux petits soins avec les hôtes.Il est très attentif à ce que le séjour se passe bien, il est un passionné de culture et il est de bons conseils pour les visites ou les spécialités culinaires du Nord du Portugal.Enfin, la piscine qui est très grande et en eau naturel est un pur bonheur.Dernier point : Porto est très proche et plusieurs autres site touristiques sont à portée de voiture : Coimbra, Braga, Guimaraes, Vallée du Douro.N'hésitez plus ! Venez dans cette superbe location.

Ein Traum ist wahr geworden

Wir haben 7 wunderbare Nächte in dem Haus verbracht! Der Blick von oben ist umwerfend! Wir haben fast jeden Tag frischen Orangen gesammelt und einen frischen Saft gemacht! Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich und Sebastiao ist der bester Gastgeber denn wir je hatten. Er ist sehr aufmerksam, hilfsbereit, großzügig und liebevoll! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder🥰 Das Anwesen ist sehr romantisch und hier kann man wunderbar abschalten und sich sammeln. Die Natur und mehrere angelegte Terrassen sind wunderschön! Wonderful!

We enjoyed every minute of our week in this beautiful property. The owner was incredibly helpful throughout- from our introduction to the local area upon arrival and on hand to respond to questions whenever needed. We spent time doing day trips to Porto, Régua, Guimareas and Aveiro. The trip to the Lomba river beach with various watersports was also fabulous. The property was extremely clean and well equipped. The fresh water pool was amazing with spectacular views of the river. We would definitely return as feel there is still much to explore in this beautiful region with this property being a great base. Thank you Sebastião!

Truly wonderful experience

The house is a very tastefully renovated old agricultural structure, with beautiful architectural detail. Lovely atmosphere for a longer-term stay. Sebastian is a fantastic host - took care of every detail like first-day Shopping with us - and gave us great tips on what to go see where. Our kids loved the generous-sized natural water pool - it is very beneficial for those who react badly to chlorine. Highly recommendable. We'll make sure to come back for a longer stay.

This is the great (!) place to relax and explore Porto

Villa San Sebastián, and two other villas nearby, have the beautiful location with the great view to Douro river. The pool is fantastic and the house is well designed. The property is 20 mins drive from Porto so you can visit this great place every day. Sebastiao, the owner of the property, will always assist in any of your needs or problems -Thank you Sebastiao for the great stay.
