Spacious Characterful Apartment

Roomy and well furnished apartment located fairly centrally, with space for plenty and several bathrooms. Smooth and welcoming check-in. Very pleasant stay.

A hospitable owner

The owner, Giovanni, has been very friendly and helpful in every way and also giving tips of sights that could be of interest. The apartment was lovely, spacious and charming and at a walking distance to most everything of interest to us.

Great place!

This apartment is so cute and the pictures don't do it justice! The host was so responsive and helpful in every way. He even got us milk, orange juice, and coffee, which were waiting for us when arrived. The place is gigantic and could easily sleep 7 people. And such a great value! It is located an easy 10 minute walk from both the city's central bus and train stations. Will definitely stay here again if I return!

Great Accommodation, crappy surroundings

The property is within a complex of other apartments with a lot of stairs but it is spacious and very nice. The only problem is the surrounding neighborhood, it it is dirty, graffiti everywhere and many homeless people, a 10 minute walk brings you to the tourist area

Lovely apartment

The apartment is filled with charm. The host left us an array of goodies and answered or questions promptly. They arranged for a car to take us to the airport. We enjoyed our stay The apartment is on the third floor and no elevator.

Catania visit

The property is a renovated apartment in Catania fairly central to all places of interest.We enjoyed our stay. The owner is very helpful to his guests. I give it a 4.5 rating overall. The .5 off is for the stairs. I am 80 and climbing the stairs at least twice a day was a bit of a challenge. Giovanni Presti and his wife were very good to us.

Comfy apartment munutes away from downtown

It is a homey apartment close to downtown. The bed is comfortable, the shower worked well. The laundry worked okay, the loads are small. There are three flights of stairs to the apartment but our host was great helping to carry the bags. The internet was sketchy but we weren't there to browse the web. Itwas perfect for what we wanted and I would highly recommend it.

Perfect spot!

The apartment was in a great location. Some excellent restaurants close by. Great setup for three adults travelling together (a married couple plus one!). Giovanni was extremely helpful, meeting us at the apartment for check-in and helping with luggage. He also met us at departure time, organised a taxi to the airport for us and helped with luggage once again. My only comment on an otherwise perfect stay, was the wrought iron bed in the second bedroom, was perhaps the noisiest mattress and springs I’ve ever slept in! It woke me up every time I turned over.

Comfortable apartment in central location

There were 5 of us and it was very spacious, clean and comfortable . Issue with hot water was sorted reasonably quickly. Location wise, the apartment was close to bus and train stations and 20 minutes from airport - an ideal base to explore Catania and Taormina , Etna etc The streets immediately around the apartment are strewn with litter (as a lot of Catania is to be fair) and it is quite a run down area but don’t let that put you off, you only have to walk for a couple of streets to be in the city centre. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would stay with Giovanni and his lovely daughter Connie again.

Historic Apartment

Giovanni was a wonderful host! The home was very spacious and filled with fascinating antiques. It is about a 20 minute walk to the historic center and about 10 minutes from the bus station. We chose the bus, but walking to the apartment was a bit challenging so when we left, we chose a taxi to the train station. This neighborhood in Cantania is very safe, but undergoing a lot of renovation. This includes the building of this apartment too. There are 4 flights of steps to climb when entering the apartment and no elevator which should be noted for anyone with a physical challenge. We enjoyed our stay in Catania. Grazie Giovanni!

Beautiful apartment in a gritty neighborhood

This is a beautiful apartment in a residential neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. That said, despite VRBO listing the check-in time as 1:30, we could not get into the apartment until almost 4 (though the host did let us stash our suitcases while it was being cleaned which was very helpful). When we got into the apartment, one of the bedrooms (the single) and a bathroom were locked. I asked for them to be unlocked because the apartment was listed as 3 bedroom/ 3 bathroom, and that’s what we had rented - and the host was very unhappy about it, though he did ultimately open up the rooms. And good thing, too, because two of the showers did not drain well, so we all used the third shower instead. But again, the apartment is comfortable and sophisticatedly renovated and appointed. Lovely old world charm. With 3 bedrooms, however, it’s clear the living room was converted into a bedroom and the only place to really hang out was in the kitchen. But that was fine. It’s in a bit of a gritty neighborhood - though we never felt unsafe - and about 0.5 mile from almost everything, so it was a short walk to see the wonderful sites of Catania. As others have noted, it’s on the second floor, so there are steep stairs, and the first level without a hand rail. And the stairwell is dark - we could not find the light switch at night when we got home.

Casa meravigliosamente arredata, equipaggiata di tutto, pulitissima, con aria condizionata ben funzionante, esattamente corrispondente alle foto mostrate sul sito. Letti e cuscini comodissimi, ad eccezione di uno. Vivamente consigliata per chi ha voglia di godersi la città e approfittare del benessere di stare in una bella casa

Catania experience

Comfortable bed, all necessary kitchen appliances, clean and well designed apartment with eclectic antic influence. Walking distance 5 min to train/bus station but 20 min to historical center. Be prepaired to carry your luggage upstairs. There were no other guests in the rooms the time we stayed and we enjoyed our privacy.
