Fabulous Family Vacation

The condo was air conditioned, in a perfect location 5th floor looking down on the beach. The kitchen had plenty of dishes&pots&pans The grills on the grounds were good. The restaurant was nice. Pool a good size. Water on the beach was calm for swimming chairs for relaxing we would definitely rent this condo again! 5 nights was not enough!

What a View!

We had an amazing time here. The condo met or exceeded all of our expectations. It was incredible to wake up and go straight to the lanai to watch the whales jumping. The room felt spacious, clean and quiet. There were plenty of amenities nearby and the staff were all friendly.

Perfect family vacation

This property is located in the Kahana area of Maui. Super convenient for stores, restaurants and beach activities. We watched rainbows and whales almost every morning while having coffee on the lanai. Also had a sea turtle come ashore, right at the property. Convenient bar/restaurant right on property.

Awesome stay

This unit has a great location and view! It is well equipped with just about everything you need. The five of us were quite comfortable and it could handle several more very well. We have a timeshare at Sands of Kahana and the rest of our family stayed there which was convenient, and we obviously love the complex. This review must include how saddened we all are for the people and town of Lahaina. We are grateful for the time there just before it happened, but send heartfelt thoughts and prayers to those in Maui. I do believe those going to the island now will help support all the surrounding area businesses and people however. So, again, we do highly recommend choosing this unit!

Perfect place to stay and enjoyed every moment

June Maui Visit

We had a wonderful visit to Maui! The accommodations were great - perfect for our large group of 7 adults. Plenty of space, gorgeous views, kitchen was well-stocked so we could do our own cooking, the entire unit was super comfortable for our needs. Everyone we worked with - from the owner to the property management company to the onsite staff - were very communicative and fabulous. Would definitely stay here again!

Family Get-Away

This property was perfect for my husband and me, our grown children and a 21 month old grandbaby! The kitchen was so well appointed - spices, Tupperware, pans, utensils, pitchers...there wasn't one item I thought I needed. The restaurant s great for lunch or casual dinner. Probably the best $8 Mai Tai I've ever had. The beach is just steps from the unit. Swimming with the turtles was fabulous! We slept with the windows wide open to the sound of the breaking waves - no need for air conditioning. The unit is quite large - perfect for a toddle...very safe. Lots of board games, pool toys and pool towels. The owner was very good at staying in touch to make sure check in went well (it did). We'll be back!

Multi-generation bonding In paradise

I had the pleasure of traveling with my 80 something mom and step-dad, my daughter, son-in-law and sister to Maui. The condo was everything we dreamed about. The view was worth a million dollars, the rooms were comfortable and the staff was attentive. What a special place! We’ll be back.

As Advertised!!!

Whales and turtles viewable from the balcony and livingroom. Sunsets on the ocean every night it's not cloudy. Moonlight on ocean for spectacular night views. Excellent entertainment space in kitchen livingroom and terrace. 6 beds in 3 bedrooms with two full bathrooms. Did not use the sleeper sofas. Great beach below, and 5 minute drive to full grocery store and amazing lava rock beach hikes. Little market across the street and restaurants, as well as a restaurant on site. 30 minutes from Molikini launches and a little more to sunflower fields, fresh coconuts. Great place!!! Snorkels, flippers and beach gear in unit abd kayaks and paddleboards below on beach.

Excellent experience at Sands of Kahana

We visited Maui with all our children and grandchildren. Seven of us stayed in this condo. The trip was planned as my 44 y/o daughter,'s dream vacation. Unfortunately, she lost her battle with cancer between planning and completion of the trip. This condo would have fulfilled everything she dreamed about. The view and the whale activity were beyond amazing. The condo location was perfect for activities, shopping, beaches, etc. The amenities and cleanliness were beyond expectations. A very spacious condo with plenty of room for family. This unit is well stocked and managed by the owner down to every detail. The owner was very much involved and direct communication was deeply appreciated, as well as local contact information in case of problems. Best VRBO I have ever stayed in. None of us wanted to leave!!! Susan

Fantastic!

Overall, we were very happy with the unit and everything associated with it. It met our needs perfectly for a family of 9. The unit was a little dated in a few ways and a few minor things in disrepair, but nothing at all that hindered our stay or enjoyment. Rob was fantastic. We would absolutely stay again.

Family Vacation on the search for turtles

This was our first time staying at a VRBO and all I can say is wow. The owner was very nice and helpful and their place was amazing. All the rooms were as pictured with one hiccup, we thought the room with the twin beds and the other room shared the small balcony but no biggie. There are plenty of places to dine out or stores to grab groceries. We loved the BBQ area after a long day snorkeling searching for turtles (which we found) and boogie boarding. There was gear at the place but with our adult children we ended up going to Boss Frog's across the street and renting gear, they were super friendly. We went zip lining, watched the whales and just chilled on the beach with the chairs the place had, it all was amazing. My husband and I didn't want to leave, we can't wait to come back here! Mahalo

Amazing views

It was awesome to wake up to beautiful ocean views and watch amazing sunsets at night. The clean and well kept condo was large enough for all of us to spend time together or enjoy alone time. The beach/ocean was so close you could hear and see the waves from the spacious balcony. The staff at the complex were friendly and helpful.

Terrific location

This unit did not meet my expectations, it greatly exceeded them!! Great communication with property owner and property management. Details provided prior to the trip were excellent. Location was great, it had a perfect ocean view. My 85 year old mom was able to watch her family in the ocean from the lanai. The sunset views from the lanai were breathtaking. The property was easy to navigate with my mom’s walker. The unit is large and comfortable. Property owner was wonderful to work with. My only complaint was that we weren’t able to stay longer :)

A dream

If I could give more stars, I would. This condo exceeded all expectations! The amenities are more than you could ask for, the view is stunning. Every second of everyday blurred out our chaotic mainland lives. I had a group of 9, traveling with my family including a 2 year old and a 16 year old. They both LOVED it. My toddler son loved the bath and the view plus the awesome splash area, my teenage daughter loved the kayaks, snorkeling and gorgeous sunsets. My mom and grandparents loved the breeze in the afternoon and evening, the close proximity to EVERYTHING we wanted to do on the island, on site and the authentic Hawaii feel. I can’t say enough about this place and Robert-he was the most gracious host and helped me when my airline was cancelled last min. An amazing place with an amazing host. We will be back, not just to Maui-but to your condo!!! There is a reason this is booked for months and months on end. You do it right. Thank you times a million!!

Family Lodging in Paradise

This unit was perfect for our family vacation in Maui. We had six adults, a 4 year old, and a 1 year old. There was plenty of space for everyone and having the pack-n-play and high chair available was great, as was the in-unit clothes washer and dryer. The kids really enjoyed the children's pool as well as the beach that was just steps away. The view from the living room and lanai is fantastic with views of the shoreline and the islands of Lanai and Molokai. We started every morning enjoying coffee on the lanai, and ended almost every day with drinks on the lanai while watching the sun set. We made good use of the kitchen in the unit as well as the many grills that are available at ground level. The parking garage under the building was very convenient and made packing up for outings easy. This was our first trip to any of the Hawaiian Islands and it won't be our last. We had a great vacation and all in our party agree that this unit was an excellent choice.

Perfect Maui property for large family group!

Property was perfect with an amazing view! Unit was exactly as advertised. We had 9 adults and two children- ages 2 and 5 months and there was plenty of room. Unit was well equipped with the basics so we didn’t have to spend tons of money on the basics. Pool area was great. Beach was never crowded and was so clean. There is no comparison between HI beaches and mainland beaches. We loved our stay and will definitely rent again.

We are a family of 6. Mom, Dad and our four children. Mom and Dad are retired United States Naval officers. 3 of our child are now in the Navy and one is stationed on Oahu since he loved going to Hawaii with us on family vacations. We are very proud and humbled by all 3 of them

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We first bought a 2 bedroom timeshare at the Sands of Kahana in 2003 sight unseen. We were promised by the realtor that sold us the timeshare that the Sands of Kahana units were the biggest 2 bedroom condos on Maui. We wanted a big place since we had the 4 young children. When we first checked into our unit, we couldn't believe how big the unit felt. We then had a great family vacation and fell in love with the Sands of Kahana complex. So, we decided that we wanted to be a place outright that we could use anytime during the year. With our growing family we decided to get a 3 bedroom place. Although there are only a few in the complex, we were so happy to find a 5th floor, corner unit with two lanais that is right on the beach.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

There are fabulous ocean views from the lanais, living room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom. From December to April you should be able to see the whales in the bay from our 5th floor lanai. In the past few years, a nice turtle reef has developed a few hundred yards south of the Sands of Kahana beach so you may see some turtles lying on the beach or some turtle heads popping out of the water.
