Quiet place

The best VRBO experience ever. The view was gorgeous and serine. I recommend this to anyone who wants a clean quiet and friendly place to stay.

Beautiful, clean and quiet.

It is obvious that the Algers have put their hearts into creating a vacation spot that will not only give rest and relaxation to their guests, but also brings them a sense of peace and restoration that is very hard to come by in this crazy world. My friend and I stayed three nights and left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I can not think of anything I would change about this property or our experience there. 5 stars easily!

What an incredible hidden gem!

I'm almost hesitant to write about how great this rental was, because I would love to keep it a secret so it will be available next time I want to visit the mountains. The pictures don't do it justice. The view out the loft window is incredible, and the property was awesome. My girlfriend and I enjoyed walking down to the fishing pond (caught five fish!) and feeding the ducks. There is plenty of space for two in the loft (there's also a cottage available for a little more cash if you need more space) and the loft had everything we needed. It's a short drive to downtown Franklin, and David went well out of his way to give us tips on places to see around the area. Be sure to visit Caffe Rel for dinner and check out the shops on Main Street. I couldn't be happier with how our stay went. We're already talking about coming back soon for a relaxing weekend.

Beautiful and Very Relaxing Loationl

My husband and I really enjoyed our 2 days here. Beautiful view of the meadow and mountain range from our over the garage "studio apartment". We loved walking around and spending quite time at this beautiful property. We fed the ducks, spent time by the pond, grilled and just enjoyed this peaceful property. The lodging was comfortable and had everything we needed. All of the little things were provided in the well stocked kitchen. Great location not too far from town and many waterfalls and beautiful views. We are hoping to return soon. Much better than expected.

The perfect getaway!

My 13 year old son and I had an impromptu trip to the mountains last weekend! I found this studio loft which seemed perfect for the 2 of us. The owners were amazing and so easy to work with, very thorough and knowledgeable about the area. We relaxed, hiked, went antiquing downtown and ate at Caffe Rel! It is in a gas station, but the best food!!! We can't wait to go back! A true gem in a very relaxing place!!!

Perfect!

My fiance and I came here for a quick mountain get-away with our dog a couple weeks ago. The studio loft we stayed in was the perfect size, complete with a kitchen stocked with everything we needed for the weekend. Everything was clean and comfortable, and David and his wife were extremely kind and welcoming. The views of their property from the loft were beautiful too, and hiking on the AT was no more than a 20 minute drive! We definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet, romantic get-away.

Just right!

My husband I (60+) just spent 3 nights at this rental and it was a great place to stay. The property is in great shape, clean and well appointed, the owners friendly and helpful, and the location fantastic. I would recommend this to family and friends without hesitation.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

David and Jennifer are perfect hosts. They were very friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to interact with. They both were very knowledgeable with the area, restaurants, sightseeing opportunities and events going on around the area. You could tell they loved where they live (and I don't blame them at all). They told us about the festival in town that weekend (which was an added plus), they gave us a map to help us get around. The view from the loft in the morning was very soothing.The loft itself was beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable, and the quilts were a wonderful warm touch, it had everything we needed to cook with, (and extra things like recipes, and cookie cutters). Really it had everything you needed if you were at your own home and then some. They even had a kennel, that we used for our 2 dogs, when we had to leave them at the property, which was clean and very secure for Hercules and Prancer.. I really can't say enough nice things about this couple and their home, except Thank you for letting us share your space with us. We hope to come back, and stay again. You really couldn't ask for nicer people, and a beautiful relaxing place to enjoy. I'd give it 100 stars if I could. We highly recommend the loft and the owners.

Diamond in the Rough!

Priya and I had an excellent stay at this property! The view here is amazing, and David/Jennifer were incredibly friendly and helpful. I really can't express how cool the spot was... they had a farm, pond, open meadows, and the lodging was EXCELLENT. Seriously, for what you're paying here, you get satellite TV, full kitchen, bathroom, Queen bed, washer/dryer, dining table... and everything is in GREAT condition. It was a perfect stay and it was great meeting David and Jennifer.

perfect vacation

the studio was exactly as pictured but view was even more spectacular! the owners were extremely accomodating and great company. the spot on the river was an unexpected delight. i will definitely return and highly recommend for any single, couple or small family to have a great homebase in the smokeys!!

EXCELLENT!!!!!

My daughter and I just returned from a wonderful time. We went to spend a few days and see the sights. We ended up making friends with the owners their amazing dogs, ducks, goose and their pig. My daughter spent the day feeding and playing with the animals. She loved it so much the great owners let her do it ever day. My daughter made sure we were back at the ranch to feed and play with them ever day. The owners keep the place spotless. The room was great and the view amazing. If you go check out the swing in the back yard. My daughter just saw me writing this review and said 5 stars is not enough so we are upping it to 10 stars.

Joy and Peace in the Mountains

What a wonderful place to escape from the summer heat. The "Upper Room" is perfect for a couple or a family with one child. Not only is it beautifully decorated, but the view is gorgeous. In the mornings, mist comes down from the mountains and covers the little valley, making it cool and pleasant in the 60's. Later, the fog burns off and you have sunshine and mid 80's temperatures. For coastal Georgians, this was very easy to deal with. The owners of the property are incredibly sweet people and it was fun talking to them and petting their pet pig, Opal, their sweet dogs, and puppies, and watching the ducks patrolling the yard. For a young child, it would be magical. For us, it was pretty much that way, too. The city of Franklin is adorable and a short ten minutes away. There's lots of restaurants to choose from, good shopping on Main Street--and you have to stay for the Saturday night, "Pickin' On the Square." Excellent, free bluegrass entertainment and lots of fun people watching. Needless to say, we loved it and plan to come back to "the Upper Room" again!!!

Perfect weekend getaway!

My boyfriend and I came up to Franklin for a weekend of adventure and sight seeing and needed an affordable and comfortable place to stay. Jennifer and David's cozy loft provided everything we needed and more! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals for our 3 day/2 night stay, all of the linens were provided, and the tasteful furnishings made me feel right at home the minute I stepped inside. Waking up to an AMAZING view of the mountains and the front yard valley was the highlight of our mornings and definitely my favorite part of the loft. But we didn't just pay for a building, when we rented this space, we also gained the great kindness and hospitality of a great couple, and that is something you can't put a price on! Jennifer and David's hospitality is what made the trip truly amazing - drawing us up maps to waterfalls, taking us to their other property so we could enjoy a lovely bike ride along the river, letting us play with their dogs, even letting us attend their church with them! We couldn't have asked for more! If you are looking for rest, relaxation, adventure, aesthetics, hospitality, novelty or an escape, this home away from home is for you. It was so hard for us to leave such a beautiful place with such kind people. I highly recommend Jennifer and David's loft and I am telling my friends and family about it because it truly is a special place.

Wonderful Weekend!!

We rented this Loft for three nights, it was perfect!!! The kitchen was fully furnished with everything you need to prepare a meal. The Loft was very clean, and decorated so cozy and home like. The pictures posted with listing are exactly what you will walk in to. The Beautiful view from front window is breathtaking. The owners could not have been any nicer or more helpful. We plan to go back in the spring or summer to visit so we can enjoy kayaking the river. I will recomend this place to friends and family. Thank you David and Jennifer for providing such a great place at such an affordable price for people to enjoy. It is in a great location, close to lots of antique shopping, hiking, we did not have enough time to do or to see all this area has to offer. We will have to be a faithful repeat vistor.

Great Escape

The perfect place to get away from it all and experience true R&R. My wife and I have stayed in this wonderful loft apartment two different weekends and loved it each time. The scenic views are breathtaking and the outdoor adventures are endless. My wife loves to go antique shopping and there is an unusual abundance of fun antique & thrift stores. The apartment itself was very clean and nicer than any hotel. It has everything you need and the man & wife who run the property really go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful experience. You really won't find another place that offers all the extras this one does. We will definitely be going back this summer.
