Hi Paul, We always appreciate guests leaving a review and providing constructive feedback, although of course we are extremely disappointed to hear of your experience at this beautiful house and your opinion of our management company. Contrary to your comments of not being hospitable and guests feeling unwelcome, this is not the type of review or experience we encounter from our guests and quite frankly this is not a way to describe our company and extensive efforts we make, nor the way our services are interpreted by others. We have a very hard working and passionate team that take great pride in creating wonderful experiences for our guests, as you can see by the thousands of reviews on all booking websites, we usually achieve this outcome, and we do care. I understand there were a few minor issues with the property during your stay, we apologise for that, but it does not give guests the right to then exaggerate the circumstances. There are NO fleas at this property, and the carpet is not matted with hair! There also was not a "layer of dirt" on dishes. I’m sure if this was the case, we would have heard from you AND all the guests prior to your stay, especially seeing to what extent you have gone to, to write a bad review. The property was checked prior to your arrival by a supervisor who has a trained eye for anything not looking right. We do this 7 days a week, we care and have extensive experience. They did not notice these points made, which I find particularly strange, that it was only your property out of the 40-50 check-out’s and check-in’s we have on a daily basis. Also a thorough Covid clean in fact does take place. This house has been fully booked literally for months, if our standards were so low, I’m sure we would have bad review after bad review, however this property has been rated “Excellent” at 4.5 stars on Stayz. Our reviews are testament to our cleaning standards, maintenance and tireless efforts, not just on this website but on many others. Guests often rating 5 stars. It is disappointing to have your feedback exaggerated to this extent and in general your feedback passed back so rudely, without the courtesy of discussing any of this with us prior to leaving this property, to calmly ask us to assist. If you were this disappointed, we would have either fixed it, or upgraded you and found a solution. I absolutely want to know of any negative feedback, we will always apologise, accept any error or fault, be understanding and most importantly fix issues asap! Our guest complaints are rare, but it is important that we are onto issues as quickly as possible and rectify them, but some of your comments are not correct at all! When you say there are “terse "don't" notes around the house, are you referring to the “one” form we have that is a “welcome” form, outlining guidelines and important house information for your safety and convenience? It is not there to be offensive, it is there to advise you of things you may need to consider during your stay, for your convenience. Again, another exaggeration. I find your comment of lazy management offensive, the lights you had mentioned not working have indeed been reported to the owner, as it is not a matter of simply being too lazy to check and change the globes, there has been a different issue regarding this happening. The toilet was not running prior to your stay and was simply “stuck” half down. We apologise for these issues; however it is not up to us to complete maintenance that costs over a certain amount. We do not own the properties, we can only report issues and owners do their best to fix issues as quickly as possible, but it is not always easy to do in a remote region. The owner is currently providing a new oven, which is on its way. Disappointed at the way you have gone about your review. Verina and The Freycinet Holiday Houses Team.
