Perfect weekend away

House was absolutely beautiful. It was prefect for our weekend away to celebrate my 50th birthday with my wonderful friends. We weep be back!

Celebrating at the bay

A very large house that easily accommodated our family of 6 adults and 5 children. The absolute water frontage was amazing. The adults could watch the children from the deck as the kiddies froliced in the safe, shallow water. The older children loved being close to the jetty where they could fish.

Great house, great beach front location

Received an abrasive phone call asking if we were having a party or gathering. Followed up with a slightly threatening email. I'm still not sure how a house that accommodates 13 pax is not hosting a "gathering". Are we expected to eat in shifts so as not to gather? We only had 10 pax and all was well. I guess they have had problems in the past but not a welcoming experience.

Not as good as it should have been

The property was not clean. Bins contained rubbish, bathrooms and toilets were dirty, and there was dirt on the floors under sofas. All the glassware had to be washed before use, and several plates, platters and dishes were dirty. We saw 2 cockroaches and there were ants in the kitchen. The property has 3 bathrooms, but only 2 showers which is insufficient for 13 people. One bedroom contains 5 beds which might be nice for children, but not adults. We were given only one key, which had to be collected from and returned to Nelson Bay which is a 20 minute drive away. The agent would not release the key an hour before checkin. Why not store the key in a lockbox? There were 3 rolls of toilet paper in the entire house, not even a spare roll. Linen was provided, but we had to pay extra to have it put on the beds. The location is great. The property agents were helpful in sending cleaners after we arrived, but that was intrusive.

Our properties are self-catered. A welcome pack is provided on arrival but apart from that, items are to be purchased by the guests. Bed make is also not provided. However, we can arrange for it at an additional charge. We hope to welcome you back at another time.

Great location... But disappointed

We booked this for our wedding weekend. Stunning location and looked great online. Unfortunately on the first night we discovered that when anyone had a shower in the modern upstairs bathroom the water leaked through the roof into our main bedroom.... Narrowly missing my suit. We could hear rats or mice in the ceiling above our bedroom of a night. We called alloggio's (agent) emergency number. Very apologetic and nice. Unfortunately when I had to call them back the next day no one in the office knew about the issue. The house was very unclean. Floor corners and windows sills filled with dirt and dead insects. The BBQ hadn't been cleaned in a while and was covered in fat and cockroaches. Also found it a bit strange that if you want the beds made when you arrive you must pay extra.... This service was never offered though. It is very disappointing as the house has so much potential. Alloggio's follow up has been very poor.

We are very sorry to have disappointed this guest and to have received this review. These issues have been investigated and rectified and both housekeeping and staff have been spoken to regarding the property and our service. We do strive to do better in the future.

Friends weekend

The property was great except there were 2 gas bottles for the bbq the spare was empty and the one connected lasted 3/4 of the way thru the cooking had to finish in the frypan. There was a lot of dust and webs around the beds down stairs but overall the place was great.

Great property poorly managed booking system

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. Great Views

The house was in a great location amazing view and the back yard backing straight onto the water. The house was spacious and plenty of room for a big group, kitchen had all the things you possibly need to cater for friends or family during your stay. The only thing is that it could do with a really good dust a lot of surfaces were quite dusty. Besides that great house awesome location to Soilders Point bowling club or Cheeky dog.

Great house but poorly managed by real estate

Great location, excellent space and fantastic value. Unfortunately the property was filthy dirty and had some extremely unsafe features (broken glass left in outdoor spaces, upstairs windows don’t have screens and open fully). Lucky we are handy - we had to fix the sliding door in order to be able to access the deck because it was broken. Would be a brilliant place to stay if it was clean and was managed adequately. Real estate agent has been responding to other poor feedback for months, saying they’ll improve - no evidence of action has been shown. Take your own soap and toilet paper, it’s not provided even though the listing says it should be there. Be prepared to make your own beds - property managers charge $5.25 for each bed to be made. You also have to pay to get the key if you arrive after 5pm.

All reviews that need attention are forwarded to the appropriate management my apologies as this property seems to have missed the maintenance/cleaning required. I assure you these issues will be attended to. We have just introduced a new system 'a secure key host' for key pick up that allows our guests after hours pick up at no charge and in a convenient location.

Perfect Location

We really enjoyed our stay. Perfect location, comfy beds and it was very clean and tidy. Some soap in the bathrooms and a gas bottle (not empty) for the BBQ would have been appreciated.
