Lovely lake spot!

This is retro summer cabin with some newer modern touches :) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Great outdoor space. And comfy beds . The bunkie space is very nicely set up with room for 2:). Spent a lot of time on the deck soaking up the views! And the large lawn space both front & back was well used & appreciated. The only thing we found a bit tricky , was the parking . Theoretically space , but getting in & out with SUV was challenging when neighbors park at end of driveway. We hope to return though !

Beautiful place

The cottage has all the necessities, but it is somewhat run down. It is clean. The surrounding nature and the lake is absolutely gorgeous.

Wonderful little cabin but caution for some

This was a cute little house by the lake. It was very comfortable and the view was amazing. It was great to be able to sit on the little dock and do nothing. I would caution folks that have any kind of mobility challenges though. There isn’t a path leading to the house (you walk across the lawn) and the lawn is lined with a double layer (horizontal not vertical) of logs. It was a bit wide to step over and there wasn’t a place to walk in that didn’t require stepping across logs.

Perfect Getaway

We had a wonderful stay in this very private lake front getaway. We loved the long narrow lane way to the entrance and expansive views of the lake. Sunset drinks on the dock was my favourite part of the day after enjoying boat rides, fishing, and awesome views cooked on the barbecue and eaten at the out door dining area.

The parking was tight to get a truck in when the neighboring property had cars parked outside its property boundary Everything else was grate One suggestion. Put a new elongated toilet in. The small bowls are hard for the men

Enjoyed our waterfront time

We love the outdoor spaces here and access to the lake and privacy. the rustic cottage is sufficient for our purposes - its all about the outdoor space, water access and privacy.

Great place - as advertised

We rented this little cabin for our family. We had a wedding down the street and the location was perfect for us. It comes as advertised. It’s a cute little cabin. It was warm and had hot water. The rooms worked out and our family enjoyed good nights sleeps.

Thanksgiving at the Cottage

We enjoyed a wonderful warm Thanksgiving weekend at this Shawnigan Lake cottage and highly recommend - wish we could have stayed longer! We took full advantage of the fully equipped kitchen, lounged in the gorgeous yard, swam and canoed from the dock, and enjoyed the view from an amazing deck. The hosts were easy to communicate with and left us to quietly enjoy our weekend. Many thanks!

Peaceful and beautiful

This little cottage was so perfect for me and my two adult daughters to get away and relax by a beautiful lake. The property was quiet and peaceful, all that we needed was there and food and bevies not far away. It was perfect!

We hope to come again!

We absolutely loved our time at this rustic quaint cottage - we had everything we needed - but it is really all about the water front, the lovely sloping lawn, the dock and a generous wrap around porch. Bed was comfortable which is so important, great BBQ, and hosts were great to communicate with. We really want to return for another family vacation.

Perfect lakefront get away

My family thoroughly enjoyed peace and quiet and beauty of this lakefront property. The cottage reminiscent of old Ontario lakefront; everything there to meet our needs. We look forward to vacationing here again.

Beautiful backyard

Had a wonderful, relaxing stay .....supplied most of the amenities, but the cabin itself was very rundown ....the deck and backyard were lovely and the hosts were very friendly.

Rustic, with technology (Wi-Fi and streaming)

Property in a great location. It is great for a fishing weekend or what ever you want. It is not fancy, which I think is by design. Property has no dish washer, but it has all the other comforts needed. If your looking for classy stay with creature comforts this is not you place.

As other previous reviews, the place is simple & basic with a beautiful view of the lake.

My family and I enjoyed the place, as it had all the basics needs. Older furniture in some areas of the cabin. The host is very nice and keeps the place clean.

Great Cottage on the Lake

Classic cottage steps from the lake. Hosts communicated very well, and the property is exactly like the listing and photos. A fantastic spot to stay if you all require is a comfortable place. Basic but more than serviceable, kitchen and bathroom. Nice dock for our 14' boat. Would not hesitate to stay here again, it was a very pleasant stay.

Great location!!!

The most relaxing holiday break I have ever had!! It was so beautiful to be right on the lake with the fire roasting and the snow falling. The cottage itself is basic but has everything you might need and the hosts even had firewood for us!! I would definitely return to this place.

Rustic and Cozy Getaway for the Whole Family

No frills, nothing fancy - just a simple little house in a beautiful spot right on the water. The place had everything we needed. The third bedroom is outside the main house in it's own out-building and has heat, a dresser and Queen bed. Our host was very kind and helpful - we actually got stuck there during an intense rain storm that shut the highways down for a few days and he accommodated our family in a time of need past our booked time there. I would definitely rent from this person again. We really loved it there and our kids had a great time. Would like to go back in the summer.

Recommendation

The cottage was fine, a little rustic but comfortable. We went in late September and think would not go in summer because of noise issues. Somewhat disappointed there was no fire wood. Also we couldn't get television to work: a problem for one of us and a blessing to the rest!
