An incredible location that sparked my kids’ love for fishing. The home was clean, well-stocked, and included all of the extras you could ask for. The host was very responsive and checked in after a good storm. If ever in the area again, we know where we will be staying.

Morgan was the best and very knowledgeable about the area. Although we didn't take advantage of all the amenities there were to offer there were plenty. We were just looking for a quiet place to stay while visiting Mardi Gras. This place delivered, it was peaceful and about 30 minutes from downtown New Orleans.

This was our first VRBO we ever stayed at. Morgan was so friendly and the place was in such a great area. Really enjoyed my morning coffee right on the dock! Would absolutely stay here again!

The house was fantastic! Excellent host that made sure we were comfortable and gave us a lot of great info prior to the trip about local things to do to make for a great trip.

Bayou on the dock

Great stay, joyful experience. It's always a cozy comfort ambience when we vacay with nature. Love the area and the hometown community.

Thank you Mr. Darrell for being a guest at Bayou Life. I see you only gave me 4 stars for Communication. I am ALWAYS available and respond IMMEDIATELY. I love to talk to guests, tell bayou stories, and provide detailed information on everything to do. I don't ever impose or get in the way of the guests during their stay but I am very quick to respond and be there when the guests ask for or need anything. I checked our conversation and don't see where you ever tried to contact me. I sent several communications about the house and your stay but never got a response or any communications from you. Sorry you gave 4 stars for communication but you never tried to contact me even once. I was giving you and your family space to enjoy the beauty and relaxation of Bayou Life. Come on back any time. I will sit and tell you stories for hours.

Great Place, just Outside the City

Place was perfect for hanging out on the deck after long days in New Orleans. Had everything we needed. Host was wonderful!

Husband and best friend Bayou weekend

Amazing area to relax, crab from dock, fishing and oh the restaurants so good. This house has a beautiful deck with firepit to enjoy the evening. We will definitely be back.

Had a great time

We had a blast, caught catfish , stingray and one big black drum off the dock! Morgan was great and was quick to answer any questions.

Great Jean Lafitte camp

Had a great time down in Jean Lafitte with my son. 2 days of fishing with a guide that picked us up at the camp dock right outside the back door was fantastic. We did just ok fishing but that’s to be expected in March. I would definitely recommend this place

Bayou Life is the life!!!

My family and I had a wonderful 4 night stay at Bayou Life. We loved having our two dogs with us, although I would recommend booking the lower floor if you have dogs (it’s a lot of steps if they need to go out at night). The property is in a great location and very well maintained. We did a charter with Captain Chad (recommended in the property description) and had a great time! Caught 20 plus catfish from the dock. We would definitely book again if returning to the bayou!

Loved the Bayou Life

Quiet location on the bayou less than an hour south of New Orleans. We had a wonderful time. We especially enjoyed interactions with Morgan and friends, relaxing on the dock, the views, fishing expedition, crab and shrimp boil on the property, tour of the soft shell crab facility nearby, and other recommendations. We stayed in the third floor unit which was well maintained and provided everything we needed. Would definitely stay again. Loved the Bayou Life!

We really enjoyed boiling the crabs and shrimp caught off the dock for y'all...especially while listening to your husband play the saxophone out on the dock. This house, we rented both rentals-the upstairs and downstairs, for a company fishing trip. The customers loved the space. With a short drive to Joe’s landing, the guys were able to hop in one vehicle and get there with ease! We cooked burgers one night and being able to cook on the grill provided was such a great addition! Having a tv outside also made it easy for our wide range of football fans. We were able to have multiple games on at the same time! This is our second year booking and will definitely be back next year!

Very glad and happy to accommodate your large group. I always do whatever I can as fast as I can to help guests. Next trip let me line up the fishing trip. The fishing guides I coordinate with will come right to the back door dock and pick you up. No need to drive down to a marina to find the boat. The fishing guides will also clean your fish right on the dock in the backyard and give you the trimmings to use for crab bait. So convenient, easy, and a great experience. Come on back any time!

Had everything it said it did. It is on the 3rd floor which might have been in the listing. Knowing that would not have changed my mind about staying. It just gave us extra steps. Kitchen was stocked with the basic cooking supplies. There were small appliances but we didn't use them. The only complaint I can think of is that the washing machine didn't have hot water and it was in an unfinished room. I would guess it could get pretty hot in there in the summer. The dock and all outdoor areas were amazing. We would book again with Bayou Life.
