Ant infestation

The location of this property is fantastic. The amenities are very nice and there is access to two pools. The layout of the condo is great for 3-4 people. However, there was an ant infestation in the living room, kitchen, and twin bedroom. We were unable to even sit on the couch as ants would then crawl on us. We were unable to sleep in the twin bedroom because we could see the ants crawling on the beds. We called twice to address this with the property manager and they sent someone out to spray once. It has great potential to be a good spot but the ants ruined the experience for us. I hope this information will get passed on to the owners and they are able to address the issue for the future guests.

Thank you for your feedback. We're in a very humid and tropical climate in Florida and although all properties get regular pest control service, it sometimes happens that small bugs or ants come and go.

Wonderful Vista Cay Condo

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful stay and a wonderful Casiola management team. This is our second stay at Vista Cay, and the management team really made a difference. The home was well appointed with supplies, including soaps and shampoos and even beach towels for the pool. Our only disappointment was that the wonderful looking leather couch and chair in the pictures has been replaced with a marginally comfortable upholstered set (was really looking forward to sinking into that leather couch). First floor access was convenient, and the area was very quiet (except the occasional pounding feet of the upstairs guests). Condo has a patio, but no view except for other units. This obviously was a handicap accessible condo, so the grab rails and roll-in shower were a nice addition. Lots of closet and storage space throughout, including the kitchen. This unit is located on the side with the Publix grocery and a few nice restaurants, so we could walk or stop on our way in or out of the complex. We enjoyed walking around the large lake and the colors of the sunset reflected off the water. Overall Vista Cay is a great location - about 10 minutes with little traffic to Universal, right next to the convention center, and close to shopping (including Walmart). And it’s less than a mile away from the new Universal Epic Universe under construction (you drive right past the site), so this will be a really amazing location in the future.

A Home from Home

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Booked in Nashville to attend CPAC in Orlando. They supply you with EVERYTHING from gate-codes and your own personal code to enter your room easily when you arrive from the airport. Literally seven or eight minutes away. Mear's taxi costs around $30 from airport to your door.You get two lovely bedrooms - each has a great TV. As does the spacious lounge. Our flat had a King in the main room and two beds in the second bedroom. There is separate packing-space for your bags in the separate storage closets.At the front door, there are plenty of guest-passes for the gym, pool and other guest-amenities. You also get your own balcony.The kitchen has a stove, microwave, fridge/freezer and plenty of room to prepare a family meal to serve on the six-seater table in the lounge/dining room. We had a welcome-gift waiting for us in the kitchen on arrival. From the kitchen, you can see into the main lounge-dining area, so younger kids can play in sight. Any additional info that you need - call the number they supply and you'll have a friendly/helpful call back within three or five minutes. They want you to enjoy your stay! And we did! Thank you!

How dare you allow people to pay so much money and expose them to unhealthy conditions:Trash on floor, unclean beds, floors, walls! It was a nasty experience & I hope germs will not make anyone in my family sick! I have reported you to the Marriott to take you off of their list!

Not very pleased

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had continuing issues with the property. A fire/smoke detector that would not stop beeping. Called in for a repair and got attitude from whomever took the call. Repair person was very nice but never fixed the problem. So for 2 weeks had to put up with the periodic beeping. Outlets in the kitchen, stove side did not work. Master bathroom shower would not drain properly and water was draining out onto the floor. Ended up everyone used the other shower, not convenient. The blind in the living area was missing at least 5 or 6 slats so there really wasn't any privacy there. Since we stayed there so long we needed to change sheets and wash them. The one single bed had a large yellow stain on the mattress cover. I called to have it changed and the next day we came back to some extra sheets in our room. Not what I asked for. We did not have the time to sit around and call in these problems when we had them, so we just dealt with it. The location of the property was great at a good price but highly doubtful that I would stay here again.

Comfort and Convenience for a Relaxing Vacation

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I booked a 6-night stay on for a 2br/2ba unit. The pictures had wood floors throughout and gourmet kitchen. What we got was a unit with all carpet and a builder-grade kitchen, as well as all bathroom vanities. That's not a deal breaker for us and we're willing to stay for the duration. But we found several things not up to par immediately. 1). A piece of the bed frame in the guest bedroom broke off as I was straightening out bed. It was apparently broken but poorly glued together. 2). The room was cold when we checked in at night (68F), so we tried to set the temperature to 75F. But smoke came out of the AC vents and the smoke alarm started to beep. We had to turn the AC off right away. 3). The sink in the guest bathroom drains slowly. 4). The foam in the utility closet, intended as cushion for the sleep sofa, had lots of hair sticking to it. These are long strands of dark hair, about 18 inches. I pulled off at least half a dozen. 5). The sleeper sofa is in terrible shape. You're lying on rigid springs directly pretty much. The center of bed sinks down significantly. 6). The sleeper sofa had dark stains on its fabric that's pretty visible. 7). We saw quite a few flea-sized bugs on the dining table as we're having our meals. I'm guessing they're living in the carpet. We called in and asked to be switched to a better unit for the rest of our stay. To be fair, the booking manager, Samantha Carpenter I think is her name, did give us a better unit, but insisted to charge us another cleaning fee ($140) for the new unit, even though we only stayed in this unit for less than 24 hours and we're switching due to no fault of our own. It's very disappointing. I'll write a separate review for the new unit to be fair.

Failed to mention that would be how it is on any reservation confirmation. Beds were very uncomfortable. Stains all in the carpets. And even gave me a smaller room than I payed for! There's that first come first serve thing I was talking about!!

Great Stay at Vista Cay by Casiola

It was very clean and there are lots of channels on the tv to kill boredom. My condo is not close to the general facilities such as the games room which is located in the main building. There is no pathway to get to the main building and we have to drive over. The water pressure of the shower in the master bathroom could have been stronger.

I utilized the grocery store connected to the neighborhood, and prepared dinner in the condo one evening. The kitchen was adequately stocked with pots and pans, knives and other utensil, but lacked a cutting board. The condo was clean, however the showers and bathrooms could have been cleaner. The overall appearance of the until was fine, but could use some TLC to fix the "lived-in" look it has taken on with guests coming and going. Overall, I was comfortable and enjoyed having a home-like setting to return to in the evenings.

Disappointing

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Carpet was filthy. Walls were in bad shape. Kitchen lacked any tools or utensils for food prep. Blinds were missing slats and the sliding door was filthy. Several roaches found alive. We will not be returning to Casiola. Friends stayed in a condo similar and was clean and fully stocked. A bit cheaper also.

Deception

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is dirty... the carpet is very dirty. The beds are horible and the sheets are very old.
