Beautiful unit. The oversized balcony was brilliant and meant there was plenty of room for our family of 5. Maui Resort Rentals were super helpful and responsive. Would definitely rent from them again.

Very nice stay

Would highly recommend

This resort was perfect for our family. The pools are awesome and it’s a very short walk to the beach. The views are amazing at every turn. We were a family of six (2 adults and 4 kids) and stayed comfortably in a one bedroom plus den.

A hidden gem

This place is so great! You can’t beat the big deck with sliding doors from the living room and the bedroom. Having the extra little den with a closet was perfect for our 2 kids and suitcases. You also can’t beat how kind everyone that works here is and how safe we feel at this property. You are a 2 minute walk from your morning coffee and the pool and maybe 2 1/2 from the ocean which my husband says has the best snorkeling he has found so far. We would rent again in a heartbeat.

Loved this unit

We would stay here again. We have stayed at Honua Kai 3 or 4 times. All are great experiences. We were sad to learn the market in Hokulani was closed (i think under construction) but what can you do! We love how central HK is, and this units balcony/deck was so amazing. the den was perfect for our three kids ages 8, 5, 3 (two in the bed, one in a pack and play, tucked into the closet haha!) we rented baby gear from Maui on the Fly and they were amazing too. thanks again!!

Can be noisy - room is next to frequently used elevator

I would have given this room a higher rating if it weren't for some things we experienced during our stay. Overall, this is a nice property with many pools and chairs. The room size and mountain views are nice. The size of the lanai is great! Unfortunately, this room shares the wall to the elevator, which is used all the time. The elevator could be heard in the master bedroom in early mornings and late evenings and this bedroom is the farthest away from the elevator. The bathroom needs brighter lighting and the unit needs more mirrors in bedrooms so more than one person can get ready. The carpet is a bit used looking, but clean overall.

The Hanua Kai is a beautiful resort with great family sized rooms!

First, the rooms are great for families. We had a 1br w/den which was basically s 2nd bedroom. Full kitchen minus condiments. You’ll spend Hawaii prices for those. But everything else was there. The garden view was accurate, with palms and a large water feature. Also a view of the mountains. The pools are where you’ll spend your time. There are several pools, but with kids you'll be at the slide pool. Tip: reserve a padded lounge chair ahead of time for your entire stay. You’ll love it. Oh, and the staff from Dukes will wait on you regularly while at the pools. The beach leaves a lot to be desired. Very rocky and reefy in front of the hotel. Not toe friendly. You can walk 100-200 yards south for a better beach day experience or drive 10 minutes to Napili Beach for a real treat. Valet is included and we found them to be prompt with our vehicle, luggage and groceries. We visited the spa as well, Ho’Ola. We both enjoyed the experience but thought they were expensive, even by Hawaii standards. This was our second trip to this resort and our first time renting from Maui Resort Rentals. MRR was easy to work with, no complaints at all. Enjoy!

Fabulous vacation at Honua Kai Konua 212

My husband, 10 year old daughter and I returned last weekend from a ten day stay at Honua Kai Resort, Condo Konua 212. We had friends who had reserved a 2 bedroom throught the resort in the in other tower. We found our condo to be outfitted better than our friend's resort-fitted condo--everything you could need to cook, and a fantastic set of beach gear--4 sets of chairs and snorkel sets, 6 beach towels and even a beach umbrella. We found this unit to be a great value--the bed alcove functioned well as a second bedroom with paying the cost for a full 2 bedroom unit. Our daughter even used the sofa sleeper some nights and found it very comfortable. We loved the resort overall--the pools and hot tubs were fun and relaxing, the little food shop was good in a pinch (expensive), and the resort was immaculate and great for families. The Resort had good security, which made me comfortable letting my daughter walk over to our friends unit in the other building. Parking is very easy, and available under the building or in front (or valet). We also did two of the resort's excursions--the Haleakala sunrise bike ride and the zipline tour, and had a great time. Maui Resort Realty was fabulous to work with, they made it very easy to check-in and had full time staff available--an advantage over your usual VRBO rental. Unit 212 is adjacent to an elevator, which was out of service during our stay. I couldn't say if there would be any noise from that elevator in the unit when it is running. On occasion, you could faintly hear the Westin construction in the daytime with the doors open (not when closed), and some distant road noise. My husband didn't notice this at all--the fountains, breezes and birds are the predominant sounds. We have rented condos all over the US and Europe, and would ecstatic if we could consistently find a unit this nice in a prime location at such a great value. Aloha!

Fantastic First Maui Experience! (And definitely not the last!)

My wife and I arrived in Maui on January 12th with our 5 month old son. After a long day of travel from Calgary we were anxious to get to our condo at Honua Kai for some much needed rest before we began our Hawaiin adventure. After a trip to Costco & the 45 min drive from the airport, we met our resort host at his office which was conveniently located across the street from the resort. After getting our keys, & a briefing on the resort our host bid us aloha & we were on our way. We crossed the street, parked our car in the convenient underground parking & headed up to Konea 212. Right from the minute the elevator doors opened we were not disappointed! The building is clean, modern & well maintained & the condo itself was equally up to expectations. Konea 212 is a bright, open unit with modern, clean & comfortable furnishings. There was a playpen for our infant waiting for us, as requested & the den served well as a place for our him to sleep, it would be even better for older children or teenagers (it has a queen size bed, but is open to the living area). The bedroom is quiet & comfortable & the mountain facing lanai has large doors that open wide from the living room & bedroom and it gets the sun for basically the whole day. When we headed out to the beach the next day, we found the unit well equipped with beach towels, folding chairs a cooler & an umbrella for our convenience. The resort amenities were a very pleasant surprise! There are numerous pools and hot tubs with various features such as waterfalls, a lazy river & a waterslide, all equipped with plenty of pool chairs. There is also a small boutique in the other Honua Kai tower where we found they serve a fantastic latte! When it comes time to eat, you'll find a well stocked grocery store right across the street from the resort if you choose to take advantage of the well equipped kitchen in the unit. If you would prefer to eat out, the restaurant on the resort, "Dukes Beach House" is fantastic, we ate there four times & enjoyed it immensely every time. Maui resort realty went out of their way to accommodate our every need. I had forgotten to print off our vouchers for the "Old Lahaina Luau" (highly recommend it), so our host gladly printed them off for us. The icing on the cake was when our departure flight was delayed for a day & they graciously extended our stay by a night so we wouldn't have to move our little one. I would highly recommend this unit or any other in Honua Kai!

Great Resort for you Maui Vacation

Location of the resort and the amenities are the biggest pro's or the resort. The room was also clean with a very spacious bathroom. The patio was also very spacious and we enjoyed spending time out there eating meals and playing card games.

Great amenities

This property has great access to the beach and a variety of pools and hot tubs. It had a beautiful view from the balcony which was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with many utensils and appliances.

Beautiful Mountain View

We loved our time at Honua Kai! It was a perfect unit for me, my husband and three girls. The kitchen was well supplied and the until was spacious. The office/bedroom does not have any extra floor space for an air mattress, so we ended up with one kiddo on the floor in the master. The patio is lovely and peaceful since it faces the mountains rather than the ocean and pools. We thought we would miss the ocean view, but we were pleasantly surprised by the peace and quiet the non-pool side of the resort offers! The pools were always very busy and there is a limited number of chairs available. There were also chairs claimed quite early in the day. That is our only concern with the resort because everything else was lovely. We would definitely stay in this unit again!

Beautiful resort just short handed

We had a wonderful time here at the resort. Facilities were great and well maintained and the employees are so nice. The only down side was the lack of lounge chairs in the pool area. If you had no reservations for chairs you would see people looking for any shade and sitting on the floor. That was really hard for a large family like us. Every cabana and chair was sold out yet there was so much room for more chairs. We loved having Dukes available for to go drinks and food reservations are a must if you want to sit inside. Overall we had a great time and we will come again.

Beautiful Getaway Spot

This is a beautiful spot just 10ish minutes from the hustle of Front St Lahaina and served as a great spot to explore west Maui. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable with the added bonus of beach chairs etc The kitchen was beautiful and a nice option to be able to cook for ourselves The concierge service was super accessible and called the day after we checked in to make sure that we were satisfied with the room We were very satisfied with our stay and are looking looking forward to our next stay with them

Great stay

The condo was the perfect size for all of us with all the needed amenities. While the tv and wifi reception was not very good, the kids loved the pools, beaches and luau.

A Nice spot for a growing family

We’ve stayed in three different units at Honua Kai over the past five years so we are probably a bit biased :). But this is a great property in general especially for families. Our kids love the pools, it’s in a great location close to Lahaina. So it was easy for us to like this unit as we were able to save a little money by not getting a full 2BR unit, the living room and modified bonus room were more than enough for our three young kids. The only thing I’d say is that you are a little limited with kitchen supplies and storage in general — that was much smaller than the other units we’ve had in the past — but we thought it was a great deal! And if your kids are like ours and want to unwind with their iPads or Kindles or whatnot, the WiFi was really great ;)

The property was spectacular!

The unit was in great condition with lots of room. Lanai was massive with sliver of ocean view as a bonus but mountains and waterfall with river below are terrific. The unit had chairs, umbrella and a cooler. Would love to have had a couple sets of snorkel gear but rented from kiosk by Dukes. The property managers (Tessa) was fantastic!!! I emailed them if I was low on something and within 10 minutes they called to help me out. Love love love the Honua Kai! Will visit again. Thanks!

Absolutely amazing !!

We recently stayed for our babymoon. I was absolutely blown away by everything from the location and hospitality, to the cleanliness and onsite conveniences. This place exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend staying here....we can’t wait to come back soon!!
