Deceptive communication

The Oregon beach is very sentimental to my husband's family because it was a favorite place of their late mother. We rented this large home in order to have a place to gather our families together for Thanksgiving day. When I requested to rent this place, I asked if it would be OK to have 22 people in the home during the day time for the Thanksgiving meal. I did not receive a reply When. I called the management company directly when making the 2nd payment and was told that as long as not more than 12 guests spent the night, it would be OK. That was not going to be an issue since other family members had also rented a home nearby. One week before Thanksgiving, I was told that under no circumstances would more than 12 people be allowed in the home at any time. By this time, it was too late to cancel the rental or plane tickets. I understand the policy due to some people holding wild parties but this should have been communicated to me at the time of booking so I could have made other plans. I would have looked into other ( and frankly cheaper) options if I had known I would not be allowed to gather our families together here.

Broken Elevator

Great property and beautiful location. Very clean and comfortable. The issue was the elevator failed and the house is four stories. Very inconvenient for pack out on the last day. Notified owner and they don’t guarantee any amenities or adjust price.

Awesome beach house for large group

The place was perfect for our group of two families with teenagers and younger kids. There is plenty of privacy for everyone with so many bedrooms and bathrooms and then a nice huge common space for everyone to hang out together.

Great place

The house was great! A unique floor plan, which was fun for family and friends to stay at! Love that most of the bedrooms have their own bathrooms. Great location, lovely beach right down the road!

Great facilities- lousy service.

This property was large enough for the 9 in our party. The grandparents were wheelchair bound and we picked the facility because of the elevator. When we arrived the elevator didn't work. It took us almost an hour to get in touch with the management, another two hours for maintenance to show up (just to tell us that he doesn't repair elevators) and request an elevator repair person who showed up at 11pm and did fix the elevator. In the mean time we had 9 people and their stuff needing to climb 3 flights of stairs, two of which needed to be carried. It was Not a great start to the week. We never got an apology that things weren't correct at the beginning nor were we ever offered a discount or compensation. It left a bad taste in the mouth. The facility itself was as advertised, clean and well equipped.

Overall nice property. Big home w/ lots of sleeping quarters. Only challenge was getting connected to the internet. Login info was not accurate, took a bit to get connected to the property manager once connected issue was rectified right away.

Amazing house at the coast

My family met and celebrated for three nights in the summer. We had a wonderful time. It was beautiful and had a wonderful view. We were especially excited for the elevator as one of my relatives had trouble with stairs and mobility. The whole family loved the house! Definitely the best we have ever had the pleasure of renting at the Oregon coast. Thanks 😊

Great stay except........

The house was wonderful but we had two things that made it less than exceptional. 1. There were sugar ants all over the kitchen and some of them got into our food and had to be thrown away. We then put most of the food in the fridge, and that seemed to help. 2. On the night before we were to leave, between 2:30 - 3 am, we were awakened by the smoke detectors and fire alarm. We then scrambled to put on our coats and exit the house. We called 911 and shortly the fire truck, paramedics and fire chief arrived. They were very thorough in their inspection and checked all possible sources. Along with that we also called the house manager (Peter) who was very accommodating. We also had him speak with the firemen as well. Of course we were a little reluctant to return to our beds, but they assured us that their meters showed no danger. So we continued our short night and checked out in the usuaL fashion the next morning. Needless to say this was very stressful and alarming, so I think that some compensation is in order.
