Best stay ever

My grandchildren loved the houseboats. The host was very accommodating. Although we were impacted by the mess with the airlines we had a great stay.

Fishing Trip

Our stay was good. I think some things were missing in the description. There is no fishing from the houseboat, you cannot use a hair/blow dryer in the houseboat, fold out couch bed leaves a lot to be desired. It met our needs and we enjoyed our trip and the houseboat was clean but could be updated. Thank you.

My 10 year old son and I stayed here and loved it! The place was clean, comfortable, and so unique! My son loved the loft, and we both enjoyed the back porch and views. The bar was fun and pleasant to hang out at, and the pool was super clean and fun. Mike was nice and communicated everything very clearly. We have no complaints and hope to go back someday.

Cute House Boat, neat bucket list experience! ✔️

We managed to have 4 adults stay here, which is probably not ideal for most people. The loft where two of us slept would be better suited for kids. Very limited kitchen utensils and cookware. But we managed to cook breakfast. They are dog friendly, 1 dog, 40lbs or less. There is a coin washer and dryer in the marina and there is a nice shower and bathroom area in the one location. By the pool there is a cute outdoor bar area. You can sit there during the day/evening until the bar opens, weather permitting. The pool area is nice, has great bathrooms and outdoor showers. There is even a brand new barbeque area. It is conveniently located between Key Largo and Islamorada. Just a short drive and you're to everything you need. There is a Winn Dixie, CVS, Dollar General and a few chain restaurants down the road, a quick 5 min car ride. I would definitely stay here again if I visit the upper keys again. We had a fantastic time!

Hi Morgan, Thanks for your review. I'm not sure if you recall but the couch is a sofa bed and the linins are in the bedrooms' closet. It might have been more comfortable. There are 6 other houseboats that have multiple bedrooms (Sea Horse, Manatee, Grey Lady, Calypso, Captain's Quarters and Starfish) that might have been more comfortable for your party. In any case, I apologize on behalf of the marina/resort that you were not completely satisfied during your stay. I want to offer you a discount upon your next visit with us. LOVE houseboat living! 😀

We stayed in Conch Shell at Mangrove Marina and everything was amazing! Houseboat was awesome, loved the pool, bathhouses and general marina atmosphere. We also came day early from our reservation (our error) and during the busiest time of year, Mike worked the magic to get us a different houseboat for the first night. Thank you for that!! More detailed instructions in the houseboat would have been nice re: daily garbage routine, fresh towels etc. We figured it out eventually!

Hi Holly, Thanks for you review and your feedback. Sorry for any confusion during your stay. I do review review the 'Rules & Regulations' during the check-in process. It's possible I missed this with you, but I do cover 'garbage removal' during the check-in process. In addition, we also supply this list (2 page document) in the manila envelope and in the grey houseboat book, on each houseboat. There is a paragraph on 'garbage' removal where we ask our guests to use the dumpster behind the light blue fence. We are doing our best to be 'green' and therefore do not offer fresh towels, by default. That said, whenever a guests requests fresh towels (pool or bath), we do honor that request. A week in Key Largo

Great stay. Never stayed in a marina or houseboat but both were cool. Can not beat the price for the keys in February! The houseboat was roomy and we loved watching the sunset off our back deck. If you are looking for a unique experience, the conch shell is it. The marina is opening a new restaurant in March 2021. Our poc Mike was a wonderful guide to all things Key Largo.

Cute floating cottage

The floating cottage/house is small but very cute. Management staff is friendly. The location is not ideal and the on-site bar/restaurant permanently closed on the 2nd night of the trip. The cottage is small and cooking is a bit of an experience.

This was a cute space for an overnight stay. Cute & tidy, fresh linens, unique. This was our first stay on a house boat, I'm glad we chose the Conch Shell. Great location to break up the drive down the keys.

had some problems

The bedroom electric did not work. The hot water also did not work. Reported it to the office and they said they would take care of it but they did not. Besides that it was a good stay for what we needed it for.

Situated on the waterfront, we are only 60 miles from Miami, 8 miles from Key Largo and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, 10 miles from Islamorada, the “Fishing Capitol of the US” and the Theater of the Sea Marine Mammal Park and scenic drive south on Overseas Hwy, 90 miles to Key West visiting the southernmost point of the US and the famous Duval Street and all of the activities.
