Hermosa casa de cedro en un lote privado tranquilo y aislado, en Big Crosby Lake. Excelentes amaneceres en su terraza privada fuera del dormitorio principal, allí encontrará hamacas para tomar el sol de la mañana. 50 pasos lo llevan a aguas cristalinas de su propio muelle privado, allí encontrará sillas, fideos de agua y kayak para su placer. Un montón de zonas tranquilas para llevar al perro a pasear. La cubierta de la planta baja está junto a la cocina, ideal para hacer barbacoas o simplemente holgazanear y leer su nuevo libro. Disfruta de la impresionante vista del lago desde aquí mientras te relajas con tu bebida favorita o haz una barbacoa en tu nueva barbacoa Nepolean.
Cerca de la ciudad histórica de Westport, encontrará excelentes tiendas, senderos para caminar, supermercados, excelentes restaurantes, bodegas y bares de cerveza. Paul and Dani go above and beyond to ensure that you are comfortable. Their place is amazing! It is situated up on a hill and the view is breath taking! It is definitely the perfect escape. The beds are super comfortable and they provide more then enough linens, towels and kitchen linens. There is nothing you need in terms of kitchen equipment. Basically just bring yourself and your food. I would highly recommend this to anyone. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic property but uncomfortable exchange with owner

The property was clean with fantastic views of the lake. It included everything we needed and more … spices towels etc. However unfortunately we did not have a good experience dealing with the owner, Paul. We were 6 adults and 2 teens and halfway through the week my daughter joined the group, and we were one extra person than was allowed in the listing. Paul asked for an extra $300 dollars for her stay, and we complied as we thought that this was a reasonable request. However for the rest of the stay he was confrontational and rude. He gave us his neighbors internet password, then claimed we were being disrespectful for using too much data. This made no sense to us, as if he does not want guests to use the internet, why provide them with a password? Or at the very least, why not put a cap and a disclaimer: "if you use more than allotted, you will have to pay an extra fee." The day we were leaving we made sure to clean the place very thoroughly, however Paul still called us angrily followed by sending a long rant via text about the garbage. We took the garbage to the bins outside the property as we were instructed, and did not know that he wanted us to take them to the dump. If this was a requirement, there should have been a map and hours where we can dump the garbage and recycle on our way home. I have experienced renting through VRBO at least once or twice a year all over Europe and the States for the past 10 years and I have never dealt with anyone as rude and condescending as Paul.

It is unfortunate to receive a bad review from guests especially when it is not warranted. To address the points made: we cannot get our own internet here at this cottage due to lack of tower reception. Our neighbor can and does receive a signal and is generous enough to let us piggy back of of his. Having said that we inform all of our guests that the internet can only be used for checking emails NOT STREAMING OR DOWNLOADING. This uses up all the data on our neighbors set up. So when the data is used up that's it. There is no unlimited data in this location. We have a max person policy but this includes children not 19 year old and 20 year old young adults. We let our guests know that we have a maximum of 6 adults. The reason for this is because it is not big enough and also we have a cottage size septic tank that will be over worked with too many adults. We also state that there are to be no extra guests without consent. We also inform all our guests that due to Covid 19 infection risks that they are responsible for the removal of all garbage and recycle items. This information is stated in our cottage manual that we encourage all our guests to read in case they miss some house rules which are explained in detail on arrival. We run a professional rental business here and also other locations with care and respect for our guests above the norm and it is unfortunate to receive an unwarranted bad review.

Perfect Cottage Getaway

We very much enjoyed our authentic cottage getaway on beautiful and quaint Big Crosby Lake. Close enough to the Village of Westport to nip out for breakfast, ice cream or groceries. This is a very peaceful and serene location with a very well appointed Kitchen for those that like to cook! Paul and Dani were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome! We would definitely come again!

Lovely stay

We had a great time at Dani and Paul's cottage. They are excellent hosts and the cottage and location were as good as expected. They did a few renovations that you can't see on the pictures and one of the bedrooms has a double bed instead of 3 single beds. It didn't change anything for us but i thought i'd mention it. The kitchen is very well equiped, you won't need to bring anything if you like cooking. We highly recommend it!

Great Cottage for Young Families

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. However, I would recommend that if you have mobility issues, this is not the cottage for you. (Lots of uneven ground and steep stairs.) It is a perfect cottage though for people with active children and teens. The cottage is close to the Westport Beach (which is a wonderful place for families to swim and relax). The grandkids LOVED jumping off the dock at the cottage too. The cottage amenities were as advertised. I would recommend bringing a few extra fans as the upstairs can get warm in the evening. The amenities were as listed - but please note that there is no microwave. (We missed noting that. Oops.) There was lots of room for us to store our food and supplies. Bring bug spray (welcome to Ontario in the summer) and flashlights (if you want to go down to the dock at night to watch the beautiful stars). Everything else that we needed we found provided at the cottage. Thanks for making our very first Vrbo experience a positive one!

Disconnect and relax

We really enjoyed the opportunity to just leave the world behind and relax. The cottage (really a house) was well appointed and comfortable. The lake was clear and refreshing. Paul and Dani were congenial hosts.

Super relaxing cottage stay

Thank you Paul and Dani for a wonderful vacation at your lovely family cottage. Our family had an amazing time! Swimming, canoeing and kayaking on Big Crosby Lake was amazing. Our group of teens loved the entire property and the short trips into Westport and Perth. And our pup Holly had a blast with her new furry friends Norman and Henry. We definitely hope to book again! We loved our week on Big Crosby Lake!

We had a great week and look forward to coming back! Dani was really communicative leading up to our stay and Paul met us at the cottage when we arrived and showed us around. The cottage is even better than the pictures. The view is amazing and the kitchen is really well appointed. The lake was so warm and having a shallow entry was great for our little ones. Paul and Dani stay next door and it was actually really nice having them close. We were able to ask questions or let them know about any issues right away. Westport is a short drive and has some cute shops, great ice cream, walking trails, good beach, and some fun restaurants/winery. My son has already asked when we can go back!

Wonderful cottage escape

We throughly enjoyed our time at Paul and Dani’s cottage. It is a good size with a great updated kitchen. The lake is amazing for swimming with clear, clean water. Cell phone signal is very weak allowing you to be truly off grid. Board games, downloaded movies and campfires took care of our evenings. There is a wonderful 9 hole golf course 15 minutes away if you don’t want to spend every day at the dock or on the water. I would recommend for a quiet family get away.

Everything you could want in a cottage

We had a wonderful week at the Big Crosby Lake Cottage. The view from the new addition is incredible. The front porch on the main floor has been built as another room into the cottage which is great to be able to view the lake in all weather and avoid the bugs at dusk. The house was clean and well-equipped and Dani stopped by with extra towels and blankets. The lake is beautiful. The entry is shallow from the shore, but the drop off is enough at the end of the dock that you can jump in. The water is very clear and we had some success fishing off the dock. We brought our golden retriever and she had a great time playing with Paul and Dani's labs. Would 100% recommend this rental.

Relaxing

Paul and Dani were great hosts, they answered all of our questions and were very accommodating. The property was beautiful and very clean and has a beautiful view of the lake. My friends and I had really enjoyed our time here would definitely come back again. Thank you for everything!

Classic cottage vacation

We had an excellent time! A real traditional cottage with all the comforts of home. Plenty of room for everyone inside and out. The deck is huge and offers beautiful views of the lake. Enjoyed swimming and relaxing by the lake on the dock. Dani and Paul are the perfect hosts, thanks for everything!

Great property, uncomfortable exchange with owner

So while the property description says private and secluded it should be noted for potential renters that the owners actually live on the same lot. Dani was hospitable and friendly. Paul on the other hand was confrontational and rude over concerns about our dogs. His dogs roam free and our dogs while leashed at all times are not friendly with others. Even when we assured him we would take complete responsibility for managing and containing the dogs he continued to vent and rant and blame us for not disclosing that we would be taking dogs. Our reservation indicated we would and we paid a pet fee so I’m not sure what more he needed? On top of that we had to listen to his music blaring a good part of the week.

Anyone who brings an aggressive dog to a rental cottage without first discussing it with an owner shows poor judgement and lack of respect. It is unfortunate that this person feels entitled to make unfounded and inaccurate comments.

Beautiful views and lake

This cottage is delightful! It is beautifully decorated inside with quirky touches. There is a brand new fire pit - we were the first to use it; the brand new wood benches were great and a fire was a nice touch. The view of the lake from the porch is gorgeous. There are a lot of stairs going down to the dock - couple of loose rocks but we were just careful. They provided a canoe and kayak for use as well as life jackets which added to the experience. We had no problem enjoying ourselves at the cottage for a long weekend. The kitchen is fully stocked - I mean FULLY not just pots and pans but a great BBQ, blender, cast iron, everything you could think of. The wifi is very weak and little cell reception, but you’re at the cottage - enjoy! A big thanks to the owners, Dani and Paul for making Our stay so enjoyable. They were incredibly welcoming.
