Hermosa casa de campo en un entorno tranquilo

Si busca un lugar tranquilo para escaparse, pero tiene todo lo que quiere y necesita a su alcance, ¡este es el lugar! Ubicada a unos cientos de metros del famoso lago Fife, esta casa del lago está ubicada en el lago sin motor del lago Pickerel: 42 acres listos para pescar (agallas azules, mallas, lucios, lubinas), kayak, bote de remos, o simplemente sentarse En el muelle y observar la vida silvestre a su alrededor. Si tiene una lancha a motor y quiere ir al lago más grande, Fife Lake tiene varios puntos de acceso público al final de la carretera. Disfruta el día y luego regresa a tu retiro tranquilo.

Hay un bote de remos y tres kayaks para su uso mientras esté aquí y un pozo de fuego para relajarse hasta la noche. Siéntese en la terraza grande que tiene excelentes vistas de los árboles y el lago.

Dentro de la casa del lago, encontrará pisos de madera, techos altos, una cocina totalmente equipada y un comedor. La sala de estar cuenta con asientos reclinables de cuero, el lugar perfecto para disfrutar de la vista, leer un libro (¡elija uno de nuestra biblioteca!), o toma un espectáculo en la TV de pantalla plana.

Hay 2 dormitorios en la planta principal. La primera habitación cuenta con una cama queen y un gran armario. El segundo dormitorio tiene una cama de tamaño completo y un gran armario. Terminando el piso principal es un baño completo con bañera / ducha y también una lavadora / secadora para su uso si es necesario.

Arriba, en el desván, hay una tercera área para dormir: una hermosa cama tamaño queen con ventilador de techo, con vista a las salas de estar y comedores y grandes ventanales desde el piso hasta el techo que dan al lago.

Esta casa del lago está cerca de todo:
* A escasos minutos del centro histórico de Fife Lake
* a solo 30 minutos de Traverse City, sede del National Cherry Festival, muchas bodegas, cervecerías, campos de golf, baños de bicicletas pavimentadas, etc.
* excelente ubicación de partida para excursiones de un día, a una hora de Sleeping Bear Dunes, dos horas a Mackinac City, luego un rápido viaje en ferry a Mackinaw Island.

This was our 2nd stay here and once again we found everything we needed for a fun week. It was hot outside, in the 80s, but we were comfortable with just the windows and fans. Our group enjoyed the boats, hammocks, and cooking over the fire pit.

This place is a hidden gem! It was so relaxing to sit on the dock and enjoy the beautiful scenery. My boys thoroughly enjoyed the kayaks and fishing. The location is great for easy access to all that Northern MI has to offer. We explored Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, and Mackinac Island during our visit. Mary was a wonderful host and easy to communicate with. The cottage was very clean and fully stocked. We would absolutely stay here again!

Communication with Mary was awesome. Check in was super easy and the house was exactly as described and perfect for 4 of us (2 adults and 2 older teenage kids) Very nice place and lake access was good also. Not too far from Traverse City (45 minute drive) for shopping, etc. We also went to Torch Lake twice. Parked at the sandbar and took our paddleboards out both times. The water there was clear with white sand, it was gorgeous. It was about 45 minutes also but get there early to get a parking spot if you don't have a boat.Overall the place was great and in a good location and would recommend to anyone!

Great please to stay for our family!

We had a wonderful experience and the kids are already asking when we can go back! The house was great, they even brought in an AC as it was supposed to be hot while we were there. There was plenty for everyone to do- my husband fished every day and the lake was full! Even the kids caught fish right from the dock. The shed was stocked with all sorts of helpful things- extra chairs, fishing poles, bikes, etc. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

Northern Michigan Family Vacation

My family and I had a great time staying at the property. It was our "base" as we explored Northen Michigan. We took day trips and returned to the cottage in the afternoon for a relaxing time by the lake. My teenagers loved being able to kayak every evening. The owner was very responsive to any question we had. We'll be back.

Peaceful retreat

What a beautiful setting for a summer vacation! We had a wonderful time on the water and this home served as a great home base as we took day trips to Traverse City, Petosky, and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The owners went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed. I had to smile when our littlest guy said “we never turned on the tv.” It was definitely a successful trip.

Awesome Cottage!! Very clean & updated!! All the amenities you could ask for!!

This property is amazing. It's great if you enjoy quiet relaxation and the outdoors. Includes kayaks, a boat, corn hole, fishing poles w/loaded tackle boxes, 2 bicycles and plenty of lawn chairs. There's even a sleeping hammock to string up between the trees. My family enjoyed the fire pit every night with the wood that was provided, cooking hamburgers and hot dogs on the stand up grill over the open fire, not to mention roasting marshmallows. There is also a grill on the deck if you prefer to grill the traditional way. The lake is perfect for kayaking and the row boat. Bass fishing was plentiful (with a 5 lb Bass caught) as well as Bluegill with a Northern Pike here and there. The Cottage itself is very clean, updated yet very rustic with 2 bedrooms downstairs and a loft bedroom upstairs. Great for a family of 4. The well equipped kitchen had everything needed to cook breakfast, lunch or dinner. There are lots of little things that enhanced our stay including books, games, DVDs and even a set of binoculars to enjoy the dark starry sky. If you look to your left off of the dock, you can see the Milky Way along the tree line. There are a few restaurants in town, a market, family dollar and a small grocery store for everything you need. Fife Lake (650 acres) is within walking distance but we chose to stay on Pickerel Lake (45 acres) in which there were very few people. We were the only ones on the lake all week. Fife Lake has a public beach in town and can handle the bigger boats. Traverse City is only about a 30 minute drive and the Sleeping Bear Dunes is about an hour from the cottage. I would strongly recommend this cottage to any family who enjoys the outdoors but wants a nice cottage to stay in. The communication with the owner was excellent though we had no issues to complain about. I've leased through VRBO about 6 or 7 times and this rental is the nicest we've stayed in and that's saying a lot since we have never been disappointed.

Peaceful, private and relaxing!

We had a wonderful experience! Cabin was the perfect size for our group of 6 adults. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, roasting marshmallows and making pan fried trout over the fire. Host was extremely helpful and prompt to respond to any questions. She had the cabin stocked with spices, coffee, garbage bags etc. and she was very gracious to allow us to use her supplies if needed! I would definitely recommend this place to a friend!! The only down side was the distance to some of the locations we wanted to visit, for example, an hour to sleeping bear dunes. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this is your place.

Wonderful Stay!

First, let me start off by saying that Mary was a wonderful host. She answered my questions promptly and provided many items in the cottage that added a nice touch. The cottage itself was extremely clean. It was also spacious and updated. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed setting as well as the fire pit, kayaks, rowboat and fishing poles that provided so much fun for my preteen and two teenagers. It was an equal distance drive from Charlevoix beach and Sleeping Bear Dunes (highly recommend) so we we’re able to visit both. My kids said the cottage was one of the favorite parts of our vacation. I would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.

They love the area and enjoy all that the area offers - from hiking the North Country Trail, to kayaking the lakes and rivers, to biking the VASA Singletrack, finishing with a glass of Traverse City wine on the deck overlooking the lake. There is just something special about Fife Lake.

Chad says that if you wanted to take a month off and write a book, this would be the place to do it. It is so tranquil and relaxing. At the same time it is close to everything you want to do. We have roots in Fife Lake, with family in the area for over 160 years and have always loved this area and all it has to offer.

We originally looked for a place on Fife Lake, but we were drawn to the awesome quietness of Pickerel Lake. This gave us the best of both worlds. We can be on Fife Lake in 3 minutes with a motor boat or kayak, but be in our cottage without all the noise and busyness.
