Thank you Astrid, for taking the time to review the villa. Daily maid service is included in the rental, making the beds, providing towels and cleaning of kitchen and common areas and changing bed sheets mid way through the stay. What is not included is laundry, which was clearly stated in our communications. The maid was doing on average 2-3 loads of laundry per day, which is above and beyond maintenance cleaning. Regarding the chef, he charges a very reasonable price for his services, $250/dinner for 11 people is very reasonable (given he shops for all the groceries, and has to go to many different places to procure those and the time to prepare a meal for a large group, wanting different things). Your menu selections in one instance were Lobster and steak, which is not cheap, so one can expect to pay for the more elaborate menus. Regarding access, you and any of the rest of your family were provided (at no extra charge) constant transportation from the front door of the villa to the beach and to your tours which required meeting on the road above the villa. No other villas in the area provide free transportation. I’m sorry you felt that was an issue. On a positive note, the villa itself seemed to be perfect for a group of your size, and providing daily visits from the local wildlife provided for an enjoyable stay . Wishing you all the best.

Very sorry that the home didn’t meet your expectations. However it is important to note, that it is very clearly stated in the listing that access is steep and requires a 4x4 (which you opted not to rent). Most guests are quite happy to walk the few minutes up the hill. Important to note that you did not pay anything to get around as I provided transportation throughout your entire visit. As to costly local transport, this was not an issue as every single day I was taking numerous people in your group to the grocery store and up to meet your tours (including driving south 30 minutes to drop of two of the guests to go skydiving at no cost to them). It is also clearly stated that the house is open concept and that although all the rooms and sitting room are air conditioned , the kitchen is not. Regarding the sliding glass door, of course coming the first morning upon arrival to find an entire glass door shattered next to the pool was upsetting, but it was cleaned up and replaced within 24 hours and you were not charged anything for that expense. No other guests have ever opened any of the glass doors and had them come completely off the track to the point of collapsing and breaking. It is also important to note, that 9 children that are not properly attended to, can create absolute havoc on a home (visible dent in the dining room table, food and snack items left all over the floors in the bedrooms, and sitting room). The maid provided beyond normal cleaning services daily, including laundering 9 children and 3 adults laundry which is NOT included in daily maid service (and it was mentioned that she should be tipped accordingly in the house information sheet in both the kitchen and living room) and was not left any tip to compensate for the many additional hours of laundry and tidying up after 9 children as was requested. On the final night of departure the gentleman who was providing transportation at midnight was so embarrassed by the state of the kitchen and all the bedrooms he actually took time to pick up all the garbage and at least rinse off pots and pans that were left everywhere with food items. Unfortunately from time to time there are guests that don’t respect a home that they rent as they would their own space (or not).
