We traveled here for hiking and also visiting the Roswell/Alpharetta area. This home was perfect for our stay and was very comfortable. There are many things to do within a 30 minute drive of the cabin and once you come back to the home it is very peaceful and quiet. The property was cleaned very well and the decorations matched the season which was fun to see. The manager is easy to talk to and is very helpful if there are any questions or if there is an issue. I highly recommend visiting this home and will be returning.

A Perfect Mountain Getaway – Highly Recommend!We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Donna’s cabin in Dawsonville! From the moment we arrived, Donna went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Her hospitality was exceptional – she was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and truly made our stay special.The cabin itself exceeded our expectations. Everything was immaculately clean and the space was so comfortable. The beautiful mountain views were breathtaking, and the peaceful surroundings made for the perfect retreat.The amenities were fantastic – the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the jetted tub was absolutely amazing. We made sure to take full advantage of it during our evening there, and it was pure bliss.Every detail of the cabin showed how much care Donna puts into providing her guests with a top-notch experience. Even for just one night, it was the perfect escape. We’re already planning our next visit and would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, beautiful getaway in North Georgia. So many positive things to say about our stay. First and foremost, Donna is the ultimate hostess! She checked on us several times, and even stopped by to meet us. She contacted us prior to our arrival to find out what kind of snacks and drinks we like so that she could have them waiting for us. Not only were those items there, but she also had eggs, bacon, cheese, breakfast items, fresh fruit, and several types of sodas/teas/water for us to choose from already stocked in the fridge and freezer. The cabin was just as described and was perfect for our 2-person stay. We went for New Years, and it was still decorated for Christmas, which was an added touch of decor. When we arrived, lights were on, both TVs were on and tuned in to Fireplace Apps, candles were lit, and a personal note from Donna awaited us in the kitchen. My regret is that I can’t give her more than 5 stars. Book this location—you won’t regret it!

Host was the best! Very quick and helpful responses to our questions and requests. The rental was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We prepared breakfast every day and we found everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. The location was quiet and felt safe. There are many restaurants and beautiful mountain areas to explore close by. We hope to return for another visit soon.

The cabin is great! Donna, the host, was a perfect host. She left supplies in the kitchen for our stay. She asked me in advance what we like to drink. She had drinks and food waiting when we arrived at the cabin. Rooms were decorated for Christmas and clean. We were celebrating our anniversary and she had a card and sign over the bed wishing us a happy anniversary. She made us feel special and we will always have fond memories of our time spent at the cabin.

Mrs. Donna is the ultimate host. She went above and beyond to ensure my stay would be memorable. Specific food and beverage preferences were inquired of beforehand and were available when I arrived at the cabin. Detailed instructions for my arrival were sent a week early. She checked in during my drive there and gave extra directions due to me arriving at dark. The cabin was clean, cozy and decorated for Christmas - a Southern Living winter wonderland. Mrs. Donna has everything you would need, or possibly may forget. The kitchen is fully equipped, the fridge is full and freezer is stocked. The location of the cabin is quiet and peaceful, but only a short drive for groceries or a fun day of shopping. It’s the perfect place for a couple’s getaway, or even a treat to oneself.

Without a question Donna is the best host/owner my wife and I have ever had. The property is excellent for Two people but Donna adds something special to our normal experience. The house is fully stocked with just about anything you need, including some foods and snacks. And Donna was always available for any questions or concerns we had. We highly reccomend the Host and property. And we will be back.

This was the best place I have ever booked, it stood out over every single place I have ever stayed. My husband and I were in town for a family wedding in Dawsonville, and we had several other family members who did not have as excellent of an experience as we did. Our room was spotlessly clean, but also so warm and inviting, and just perfect. Donna was the best host. She had messaged us before our stay to see what we liked to drink, eat, snack on, and she had everything and more than we asked for available. We were just looking for quiet, cozy and nature, and we got that and more. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and family, and most definitely will stay there again when we need to visit family in the Atlanta area.

We have never felt so welcomed as we did here. The host exceeded every need and want. The space was perfect - clean, warm decor ( loved the birds and words of encouragement!), comfortable bed, huge shower, fluffy towels, bathrobes and a better stocked fridge than i have at home. Our anniversary celebration was a smashing success. Donna communicated clearly and even let us visit her home's pier to fish. She is a #1 Host!! The location is close to anything you need - restaurants, groceries and great lake views. Highly recommend to anyone. We would love to return.

What a little gem! We enjoyed peace and quiet and had a lovely rest at the Lakeside Retreat. We were spoiled by our host Donna who is very caring and her place were fully stock with everything you need. It was very clean and spacious for a couple to enjoy a quick get away for a week or weekend. Donna we will be back, thank you very much for checking on us often to make sure we have what we needed. We will definitely book the Lakeside Retreat again.

It has always been a dream of mine to own a cabin that I could rent on VRBO because I love to host, decorate, and meet new people. So after retiring from a job I adored for 31 years (teaching school) I bought Rob’s Retreat. Rob had a very successful business, so when he decided he was going to move and sell his place I immediately told him that I wanted to buy it. That’s how Lakeside Retreat started in November 2022.

I chose this neighborhood because it’s so quiet and peaceful yet only 4 miles away from stores and shopping. The people are wonderful here and of course it’s on the lake.

my property is unique because it’s only for couples. The only place around here just for two people. It’s very quaint, but beautiful as well.
